My two pence worth-

Not ruling out a sexual encounter with Taylan. Sometimes there's an instant attraction and people do things-especially away from home that isnt their norm. No matter what how much sex a woman has does not condone murder.

They may have told the husband what Taylan said- I know I wouldn't share that fact with anyone. Really all we know is when and whereabouts she was killed. The rest is all conjecture. But I don't think her having an affair or hookup makes her a bad person.

Agreed. I also don't think her husband would have chosen to share that information publicly if it did happen, and if he did learn of it. The general public was ready to crucify her for the apparently horrific and unforgiveable crime of travelling alone to a foreign land. Imagine the reaction of the MSM commentators had it been confirmed she'd had an affair to boot!

OT
(Am I think only one who has to resist the urge to say "Sorry, Mom" or "Thanks, Mom" every time a moderator gently guides or corrects us?)

With all due respect, while I don't believe this is the work of a teen druggie, I don't know that we have any information telling us she DIDN'T injure her assailant..... On occasion, however, it's gotten a little mean spirited. We shouldn't attack or make fun of the victim (as was previously discussed) OR each other.

Thanks, CMac2. But I didn't even take it that way. But zero-sense things do happen.

As I wrote earlier:
In 2003, a Navy SEAL Sargent (underwater demolition commando) was stabbed in the heart to death in Taksim Square by a "thinner addict" who could barely stand on his feet. And he was among a group of friends (mostly Navy SEALs)

Are we sure it's the same walls? I don't recall red brick - and they were all lined up, not one on the corner to the left.

OTOH, when you link on the link to view the page, it doesn't exist. So this is a cached version. Hmmm.

It's the same walls. It's a slightly different spot. But I think it points to a high likelyhood it means there a place he's familiar with....maybe even VERY familiar h.

Excellent information! Please don't hesitate to post whatever you might consider helpful. I, for one, will appreciate it. Post anything and everything! One can never know what will turn out to be helpful.

Of course, by now, you must know how we appreciate your expertise and help.
Thank you!!!

I think this is one of many leads LE is following up. Leads may not pan out or be false. But you have to visit all possibilities when working a case like this. Just saying.

http://pinsta.me/devonmiles1981I just saw the photo of Ammer on the train and part of SS's comment under the photo (if you click on the picture you can view the conversation) where she says "That bathtub was epic!!! I will dream of that thing lol...I had an awesome time. You were an amazing tour guide!! will talk soon...thank you soooo much". Is it possible Taylan saw this message, and in a fit of jealousy killed her?

I think anything is possible, and I think any and all theories need to be aired at this point- Lord knows MSM isn't giving us any help!

That said, I don't think the comment is in relation to anything untoward or clandestine. I'm thinking it was an inside joke. Would she post something of a sexual nature so publicly? Not just for fear of Taylan finding out (assuming there was anything for him to find out) but also her husband, who obviously had access to her online activities.

There are nearly 3,000 mosques in Istanbul. Would you necessarily know which one you photographed?

I would know it WASNT Hagia Sophia because Hagia Sophia isn't a mosque for one! And Because Hagia Sophia is orangey red, and looks nothing like the other mosques! As she was an artist with an eye for detail I'm doubting she would have missed that.

And the point I was referencing was to the question of maybe she was being specific about where she was to her family so they cold be following her and learning about the places back home.

I was making the point I doubted it because she didn't seem to know much about the city history herself.

Where did you hear the part about them being weak? Where they discussing that the person had been weak on Turkish tv?

No. In fact no one said that. But I have developed these amazing powers of deduction watching hours of CSI shows.

Next crime show, CSI Istanbul where Yashim investigates crime scenes while making quips.

So few photos do contradict with so much detail. As ThinkHard, I am also curious as to why there are so few photos of Istanbul. If I were a tourist, the first thing I would do would be to take a picture of the Bosphorus and post it. It alone is far more beautiful than any monument in Istanbul. Not just one mosque, but all divided by the river that takes a different shade of blue and green every day. In Mark Twain's words:

"Seen from the anchorage or from a mile or so up the Bosporus, it is by far the handsomest city we have seen. Its dense array of houses swells upward from the water's edge, and spreads over the domes of many hills; and the gardens that peep out here and there, the great globes of the mosques, and the countless minarets that meet the eye every where, invest the metropolis with the quaint Oriental aspect one dreams of when he reads books of eastern travel. Constantinople makes a noble picture."

Innocents Abroad

You just made me homesick for Turkey! The Bosphorous or (bogazici) is my absolute favorite thing about instanbul!!!!! I road the sea side road buses almost daily, never hated public transportation. The whole European stretch between Istinye and Ortakoy is probably the part of instanbul I love the most!

You can't miss Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Suleymaniye and Yeni Cami. I can't tell exactly. But all three may be Suleymaniye.

I've been popping in and out of here today - but the focus seems to be back on Ammer just as much as Taylan. Has something else been released? Thanks...!

Bumping... Just wonder if there's a reason that Ammer is being discussed again. Thanks. :)

Another thought. Maybe the FBI background checked her husband or brother and found a criminal past for narcotic sales. I know it's said the husband is a bus driver.

There are several reasonable explanations for why she hadn't posted a lot of pictures:
-Perhaps she liked to do a lot of editing and didn't want to waste her time in Turkey doing it
-Maybe the internet connection at her apartment was lousy
-Maybe she wanted to do something special with them, present them in some sort of complete fashion when her trip was over

Valid. But if you consider those points against the fact that in contrast she posted 5 pictures in only 3 days in Amsterdam, I find some of those doubtful.

We also know she skyped home, and her landlord was a student so there is reason to believe she did have access to some type of reliable Internet connection.

"Güzel olan herşey bana İstanbul'u hatırlatır."

Translation:

"Everything beautiful reminds me of Istanbul."

It is, still, a very pretty city, despite constantly being harassed by an abusive husband like us.

Did she post the photos from Amsterdam while she was there or when she got back to Turkey? She could have used the plane time and airport time to edit.

Yes but the only hole with those theory...is someone so whacked out of there mind enough to do something like that, isnt going to also be sane enough to conceal the crime.

I would ask respectfully that American politics be left out of these discussions too. Many Americans ...almost half of Ametican voters would find just the opposite in "trustworthiness" of our news..with the New York Times being a partisan rag. If our aim is to share and not offend each other, please lets avoid such sweeping comments.

I agree. Yes, I am an American, a proud American. Let's work together.I know we want to and I know we can.

Let's try to understand our differences. You are not completely right and neither are we.

GO TO GOOGLE SEARCH TYPE IN "@taylloo" THE SECOND PICTURE IS ONE OF HIS .......AND IT'S FROM THOSE WALLS!!!!!

I searched it but can't find. Could it be because search results listed in different order in different countries?

Would somebody be very kind and volunteer to take a screen capture for me?

Thanks :blushing:

It is a very sad and horrible case but I really enjoy talking to all of you and brainstorming together :)
