I have a new theory, but it isn't about what happened to SS. My theory has to do with the media.

My theory is that from the beginning they've been getting their information from us. Now that we're out of ideas, they have nothing to report.

I agree it would be highly unlikely it is a random carpet person. There was speculation the carpet salesman being a new suspect last night and I am not sure how that could have happened...unless it is just the case that whoever this new suspect is happens to be a carpet salesman.

(Though almost certainly not applicable here, You see it in movies all the time how easy it is to transport a body as a carpet. You carry the body out as if it were a carpet. So getting it out of the carpet store would be fairly easy, I think, and would nor arouse suspicion. Dumping it would be another issue though.. In any event I think that scenario would be eliminated bc she would have carpet fibers).

Is it the case that we can eliminate any kind of dumping altogether bc it is just too visible an area? Can we say for sure she was killed on site?

I don't think we can say for sure she wasnt dumped. Though its a visible area, its still remote, and if dumping was done at night, its slim someone would have been seen.

Well as far as theories, I've gone back and fourth on whether or not the murder took place at that location....but I have always thought it was staged to make it look like homeless people did it.

And furthermore I think for that idea to be at all possible...the killer had to have not some things about sarai (her photography style) and enough about that location (reported (though no deadly attacks by thinner addicts and homeless). The looks like rape but no evidence of rap always seemed more like a staging then a failed attempt, or an attempt to degrade the body. And I think because they left jewelry and a liscence, they had to care for her and respect her at some level.

I also think that she was left near Saray Point on the beautiful Bosphorous it was some kind of poetic message. As creepy as that is.

It's as good as any other theory right now. We really are in the dark if the DNA story is to be believed.

Perp Known to SS:
Istanbul guy she was meeting for romance (Taylan, IG pal, any other guy)
Istanbul guy she was meeting for photography who tried rape?
Drug dealer she was meeting to buy drugs (turned to theft gone bad)
Drug courier handler she tried to back out on

Street Abduction:
Taylan, IG Pal, guy she knew or unknown guy met her at walls or picked her up there in car. At some point, situation went to non-consensual and she was killed elsewhere and dumped back at walls later.

Which scenario do you guys believe? What am I leaving out? Are there any we could or should do any more work on researching?

Maybe SS was murdered for singing that stupid song to a local! Case solved!

Can't remember if we were sure that she was wearing boots. That's really hard if she was wearing them. If not, possible.

I can't figure out if it has been determined that she was in fact killed by a rock.

If so, then it would appear likely that she was killed in the location where she was found. If she was attacked, for example, in someone's home, it is unlikely that they would use a rock.

If Taylan was the culprit (and I'm not taking the report of dna samples disproving it, seriously at this point) then it would appear that he could have changed the meeting place to lure her to a different spot, and maybe he also manipulated the murder scene to point to homeless people.

1 Turkish paper will report Taylan has been exonerated and is running for Pres.
another will report Taylan has been confirmed as a serial killer of at least 200
another will report Sarai faked her own death and escaped to Nepal
another will report the DNA belonged to OJ Simpson and he has been arrested
another will report that Sarai was Lennay Kekua all along

And of course the NY Post will report that someone's psychic told their cousin's shrink that Sarai was actually a Colombian drug kingpin and CIA-KGB-Mossad triple agent.

And the NY Daily News will immediately say that is false and that Sarai has been beatified by the Catholic Church as a saint.

Thinking about the extra shoes, SS husband mentioned in recent media report that extra shoes were high heels. I had assumed that extra shoes may be other sneakers or walking shoes. I surmise that high heels would be for going out to club, restaurant, church??. So if boarder room man took her to bar on last day on her own free will, wouldnt she want to wear her heels that she carried with her all day? Why drag them around unless one planned on going out for good, drink, etc. later? But if she didnt go out at night, than why drag extra weight around in backpack? Just trying to apply logic to the illogical scenarios.

Right on cue, the NY Daily News runs the story from this morning picked up from the Turkish press that floats the theory she was kidnapped, killed elsewhere, and placed back at the walls:
