Trying to estimate 100m north of the walled arch (the cave), ( by guestimating the size of the cars on the road ), I find an archway that allows entrance behind the wall, with a sidewalk that goes into it and an iron gate that is open in the photo. I wonder if she went through that gate to acess the back of the wall.

Sorry, I thought I had marked it but it didn't copy. Look for a person with a white cap walking beside the water on the sea view the water or a white car driving in front on the street view.

Wow - looks very lonely around there.

but in these photos you at least see people, i even saw a few on bikes. i think it looks like a cool place. at least from the road looking up.

Yeah, I bet SS stuck out like a sore thumb out there, guys staring and cat calling or whatever it is Turks do out there. Poor girl...makes me angry! They better catch the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 soon.

If they were cat calling or whatever - why did she pursue forward in that lonely area? Why would she be walking alone like that after having been in Istanbul for at least one week as a "single" woman - was she not aware she should have turned back to a more populated spot? Just don't comprehend how common sense was not working for a NYC woman?

The more I look at the videos of the cave (now locked) where the body was found, the more it strikes my how difficult it must have been for a single individual to get her body into it, even though she was petite. It would have taken some time to cram her in there and then take the time to cover the body with the blanket - time that most murderers wouldn't want to waste even if in a remote area in the dark with little likelihood of being seen. I'm the same size as SS, about 5 lbs. heavier, and I imagine it would take either one huge guy (who would have had trouble fitting into that opening, or more than one person, to get me in there.

and after last seen there is no more surveillance? or that surveillance hasn't been released?

There are black things on the waterside light poles along Kennedy at regular intervals. One is almost in front of that gate and entrance behind the walls. Another is in front of the 4 arches.

I can't tell for sure what they are, but they resemble the cameras at Sarayburnu

so we are missing a huge piece. more cameras, more surveillance footage. so they know if she went up there or not, but just don't want to tell us.

In the bright sun of midday it seems like a pleasant place to walk along the seaside.

On the other side of the wall is just another thing altogether. No one would have any idea you were there or in trouble.

How so "cool"? If one is alone in an area in a city one is not familiar with and in an area known as one where homeless and drug addicts lurk around - how cool is that? Do you think she thought maybe it looked smart and cool so she wandered around without fear? mmmm...could be.

yeah, but without LE reporting that she, in fact, was up there taking pictures, we don't know that she was. we have a last shot of her walking on the street, carrying a big bag or box of some sort. surveillance would have likely picked her up veering off toward a walkway off camera. and would she drag whatever she was carrying up there with her? frustrating to piece it all.

Yes

There appears to be something on the pole opposite that diagonal path over the walls but it looks more like megaphone than a camera.

Which might fit my theory that someone known to her killed her. Z may have simply been a homeless guy in the area, and may have been enlisted/bribed by the killer to help move her body.

The LE was looking here :

maybe she was up here taking photos?

i'm with you on that theory. no way Z is the lone killer. hope we get back dna match or no match on Z this week. could be interesting(read:frustrating) if his dna is not the match for what's under her nails.

Again, is there any chance she was somehow transported in a body bag by train and tossed off there, with Z doing the next part....the hiding of the body?

Yup. Not to mention, whoever crammed her body into that small space had apparently already dragged her 328 feet. That can't have been easy for a single guy (sorry, assume it's a guy).

And I'm still not convinced that "last video" of her walking is SS. To me it looks like she's wearing a red jacket/coat, not the usual leather jacket. Am I the only one who doesn't think it's her?

I don't see how you would get a body bag on or off the train in that area without taking a huge risk of being seen.

It occurs to me there are also probably surveillance cameras for those railroad lines as they are coming into a congested area near the station and would want to document pedestrians possibly on the tracks. Or, trains may have their own cameras on the lead engine.
