TX - 10 deceased as a result of crowd surge at Astroworld festival, Houston, 5 Nov 2021

I'm still not sure what to think about the report that some dude stuck a needle full of opiates into a security guard's neck.

I honestly don't know how anyone would be able to see that in a crowd this dense in the dark. And I don't really think the crowd was surging to the stage trying to get away from this alleged perp. Someone would have taken a photo, at least, I think. Or more people would have reported it if this was what they were running from.

It's peculiar. The crowd surge and "raging" encouraged by TC alone was enough to cause the disaster.

People have been hurt falling from even one story.
And TS was encouraging a fan to drop from two stories ?
It wouldn't surprise me if he becomes broke from the lawsuits following the injuries and deaths of this latest debacle.
Maybe enough to shut his concerts down for good ?
It's hard to feel badly for TS if the lawsuits ruin his career.
Just saying.

Those poor devastated families who won't get to see or hear their beloved people's faces and voices again.
Imo.

There is also going to be a huge amount of footage available to document what TS was saying to the crowd and how he was encouraging these destructive acts.

I have seen such haunting videos from this event. Tiktoks mainly.

- the screams. Absolute horror. We still go to festivals every year (pre-covid) and these screams are nothing like the "IT'S PARTY TIME PLEASE NOTICE ME" screams. Bloodcurdling.
- one particular video showed a young woman climbing onto a camera platform and yell at the camera man that there were people dying down there. He shooed her off. She moved in front of the camera to get her point across and a young lad tried helping her- the camera man would have none of it. Listen, I understand. This man is trying to do his job and suddenly there's a youth on his platform? On top of that, he had ear muffs on so maybe he didn't even hear what they were saying. But: Did he not notice the sheer horror, desperation and trauma in the woman's every breath? He should have at least radioed someone to ask them to check out what was going on! I'm sure this will haunt him and my man, I hope you learn from it.

And yet, people are still posting pictures of their time at the festival even after all the news. Seems tone deaf to me but there's so many doing it, it must be me?

The cynic in me thinks that right now Mr. Jacques Bermon Webster II (aka: Travis Scott) is convening with his lawyers to move his assets into obscure places and planning on filing bankruptcy for Astroworld Festivals so as to avoid having to pay the $80 million or so in lawsuits that are going to transpire after this mass casualty disaster.

By the time, several years from now, when these 8 deaths go to litigation, Mr. Webster, may have liquidated all of his assets and will claim that, on paper, he is penniless.

By then he will also have been dumped by the Kardashians.

Regarding the syringe: I think it's highly unlikely someone is going to be spending their money on drugs and let strangers "enjoy" the effects of them. The exception being roofies of course. If it happened, I am sure it will be a one off and not a "serial stabber".

Shocked Travis Scott wasn't sued over that incident. His insurance to perform must be expensive!

There was chaos before the show even started, some people broke through security lines and rushed in.
Log in or sign up to view

This is from Facebook but msm news page. Obviously the chaos later is dominating the news.

my neighbor is Harris County Sheriff and he worked the event. He’s okay according to his wife.
Omg, This behavior isn’t even close to being civilized. They’re worse than wild animals. Disgusting!

Plus his prior incidents of inciting “raging”, one at least of which he was convicted of a misdemeanour for and another incident in which a fan was paralyzed…

This could be the end of TS's middle finger events, as IWT he will be in litigation for years, and perhaps even prison.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I wish that would be the case but LiveNation will continue to throw events, they'll just pay the fines, settle the lawsuits and still book events. The events are unsafe.

I was thinking that’s what he’s doing today as well… sorry not sorry and JMO - when you haven’t settled in over 4 years (!) with someone who was paralyzed due to your negligent actions I don’t believe you have a lot of empathy.
As lots of people have said the best predictor of past behaviour is future behaviour.

Plus how could that cause a rush of thousands of fans? We would have heard of that and all the other reports say people were literally crushed so hard they couldn’t breathe. I don’t believe it was due to that either.

He was over the fan being paralyzed that fell 2 stories however it’s still in litigation.

Once the VIP checkpoint was breached they should have shut it down and reorganized and/or ejected those who broke past the first fences.

Travis Scott has pled guilty TWICE for encouraging fans to rush the stage | Daily Mail Online

Here is a map from this link :

Map 1.jpg

And one more map from the AstroWorld Festival site :

ASTROWORLD FESTIVAL 2021

Map 2.jpg

Two items of interest stood out in the second map : I didn't notice any rows of trees in the footage of the crowds in the DM link ?
Maybe they were removed to cram more people in ?

Secondly, the stage juts out in a pier-like platform and IMO, TS could see what was unfolding.

No excuses for him; and again my .02 he cannot claim ignorance about the chaos that was occurring even as he continued to sing.
MOO.

I believe he's been identified. I'm not sure I'm allowed to post pics since it's Facebook, but family members have posted pictures of him (alive) looking for him, saying he was at the event and is missing. It's definitely him from the pictures. And then a later FB update by his brother confirmed that he'd been found deceased and funeral arrangements have been made. Not sure if the media are going to update when the ID was so quick.
I'm sure his death is not the news his family hoped for, but I'm glad they can have some closure. My heart breaks for them.

FOX 26's Denise Middleton spoke with an ICU nurse who was in attendance during the Astroworld music festival and assisted first responders at the concert

Would that affect insurance if a settlement wasn’t reached? As in, if a settlement was reached that’s what would cause insurance rates to go up?

I predict Scott's career will join the "cancelled" crowd before the week is up.

He should be canceled but I doubt he will be. He has another festival booked in Vegas on Nov. 12th.
