She may have seen the police, they may have been there very quickly. That's what happened in Gilroy. The policeman who shot the suspect was confused as being another shooter.

One suspect, a 21-year-old male, is in custody. He has been identified as Patrick Crusius, a 21-year-old man from Dallas. Surveillance footage allegedly shows Crusius walking through the front entrance of the Walmart with an AK-47 assault rifle.

There were initial reports of multiple shooters but Sgt Robert Gomez later said “we have ruled out multiple shooters.”

It doesn't take long to reload an automatic rifle. An amateur can do it in 10-15 seconds. He had cargo pants on, so could have carried extra ammo.

Really, a semi-automatic would be another possibility.

It further confirms the Americans who are most a threat to other Americans. When we can identify the threat we can work to better stop more bloodshed.

That is the way it is in all countries. Of course the citizens from each country commit most of the crime since they are the majority population in each country.

Even though our population continues to grow the overall homicide rate has greatly declined in the last 6 years or more.

The highest homicide rates were in the 90s by far.

It appears so. I was in the kitchen all afternoon watching CNN. I just now say down to read this thread. I am shocked at what other outlets reported early on. CNN...way behind. Websleuths...on top as usual.

The loading process is the same, regardless of if a rifle is semi or fully automatic.

This was a semi automatic in this case.

If it took him 10 seconds, it would have been because he had no idea what he was doing.

CBSN just said that AP may be wrong about shooter's name AND the number dead.
