Richard Acosta Jr., who was accused of serving as a getaway driver for his teenage son, has been convicted of capital murder. But his son Abel Acosta has not been found.

Richard Acosta Jr. was found guilty Friday and "automatically sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole," for the deaths of Xavier Gonzalez, 14, Ivan Noyala, 16, and Rafael Garcia, 17, the Dallas County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for tips leading to Abel Acosta's capture.

This is so frustrating as the case seems so solvable.

Dad is Richard Acosta Jr. This suggests two generations of the name 'Richard' as opposed to 'Ricardo'. Mexicans do not use the "junior' designator as part of their cultural naming format. Likewise, dad is 'Acosta' and does not appear to have a maternal last name which Mexicans do cutlurally use.

Going subjective, the totality could tilt towards the father being a generation, and perhaps more removed from Mexico.

Being of immediate, or distant, Mexican descent for the fugitive does not mean that he speaks Spanish, understands Mexican culture, has meaningful family in Mexico, and...... would be accepted as 'Mexican' by actual Mexicans.

In the end, I can see the fugitive living "on the edges" in many ways in Mexico. In a tertiary sense being part of a family, a culture, and a nation. One would think 10K presented in the right way in the right area could lead to a, well.... "cash in".
