Per this article, the two men involved in the crash have not been publicly identified, pending notification of families. And the crash occurred around 2:15 am.

Vinty's is a very short drive to South Latimer Expressway - just about a 3-minute drive. The car was headed southbound.

GOOD LATIMER EXPRESSWAY

Dallas police say two men were killed in a single-car crash at about 2:16 a.m. Police said the men were headed southbound on the 1600 block of South Good Latimer Expressway in a gray 2015 BMW M4.

Police said the driver lost control and collided with a building and then an electric pole. The vehicle then caught fire.

Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived and pronounced both men deceased at the scene. The identities of the men will be released after their families have been notified of their deaths.
It sounds like they have identified the 2 men, but awaiting notification of family. I would think LE would have been able to notify his wife since she has placed a missing persons report.

Wonder who the other person was, and who was driving. Not that it matters who was driving, but was he with a friend? Did he get a Lyft or Uber? Take a ride from a stranger?

IMO from what I gather, he got a lift from a male previously unknown to him, but I could be wrong. I am from the same region as his family, although I didn't know them. We have been hearing alot about it here. Such a terrible tragedy. I got the impression his wife travelled to Dallas alone, I hope she gets back home soon. :(

Here is a post from the official FB page. Not sure if it has been posted yet, but doesn't hurt to post it again.

UPDATE: AARON HAS BEEN FOUND.
Aaron passed away in a tragic car accident trying to get back to his hotel room. Thank you to everyone who reached out, shared, and helped at any capacity! Please keep his wife + son, family and close friends in your prayers

For those not from Texas or have preconceived opinions on our state, most everyone here is friendly and treat visitors with respect and curiosity on their travels. It does not surprise me one bit that a “stranger” would offer someone they just met a ride back to their hotel.
My OPINION on what happened; Aaron and friends went to a bar in Dallas, as many visitors to this area do. It was a slow night at the bar and they met some locals asking about the area and what to do and see. Aaron, with his love of cars, met a guy with a cool BMW M4. As the bar closed down, his friends decided to go out to a different establishment, but Aaron preferred to go back to the hotel instead. The patron with the BMW offered him a ride back to the hotel and wanted to show off his cool sports car to Aaron.
Unfortunately, we know what happened next and I suspect no foul play was intended. Aaron made the right moral choice but it still cost him his life. I also guess that there are untold hero’s out there that tried to help them from the burning car, so maybe we’ll hear their story one day.
I believe Aaron was a faithful loving husband and father and I’m sad that he perished visiting our great area just looking to see a Cowboys game.
MOO

Well said Juvenile.
His family will always remember his tragic death every time they hear anything about the Dallas Cowboys.
Thank you. It should be a memory of a family man that went on a fun trip, tried to make the right decisions and a unforeseen accident.
From everything I’ve gathered, he was the responsible one that took care of others. I would guess that he was sober when he left the bar. Just sad all around.
BTW, I have no affiliation with Aaron or his family, just a love of the Canadian people, DFW and the Cowboys.
