TX - Abigail “Abby” Young, Up for Parole on a Yearly Basis

Just curious, did the monster who murdered precious Emma get the death penalty?

Hi, TryingtoHeal:

Lucas Coe did not get the death penalty because the State (Harris County District Attorney's Office - Houston, TX) did not seek the death penalty and the case was not tried as a murder case.

This video and article might be of interest to you and it explains why the State charged Coe with super-aggravated sexual assault of a child in the Emma Thompson case and tried the case the way they did:

http://www.khou.com/news/Jury-deliberating-fate-of-man-accused-in-Emma-Thompson-case-103463324.html
KHOU - Houston, TX -- 9/21/10

Jury finds Lucas Coe guilty in Emma Thompson case

Snipped:

HOUSTON – A Houston jury on Tuesday found Lucas Coe guilty of super-aggravated sexual assault of a child in the Emma Thompson case.

Snipped:

Though they said that abuse led to her death, they did not seek a murder charge against Coe.

"We want him in jail for as long as possible because of what he did to Emma, the way he did it, and how he did it. That’s why we charged him with aggravated sexual assault of a child," said prosecutor Colleen Barnett. "Life and murder you can get a parole. Life in super-aggravated sexual assault, you can’t. That’s the answer."

He winked at Emma's dad. Imagine how pathetic you must be to think that this represents "toughness" and "badness". Coe is a destroyer of CHILDREN. Those are the people he targets. That doesnt make him bad*ss, it makes him worthless. I suspect he knows that about himself.

I hope it has finally sunk in with Abby that Coe was only with her because he had access to her children. That he tolerated her only for that reason.

Emma,

Aunt Am is still here fighting to keep that monster Mother of yours behind bars!

I believe in remorse and I believe in rehabilitation however I also believe that you must be held accountable for your actions! 3 years is not long enough for sweet Emma's life! Abigail Young needs to spend the next 17 years behind bars thinking about what she allowed to happen to sweet Emma!

If you think I am being harsh just read the details of this case!

Thanks Again everyone for your support in my quest to keep Abigail out of society and protecting her two children and the public! If she is capable of this once it is possible for her to do it again!!!

I oppose parole for Abigail Young.

As a lifelong Texan and more importantly as a mother, I ask that you deny Abigail Young parole. She deserves to at least serve the remainder of her sentence in prison.

Young is guilty of the worst crime there is. She allowed her precious little girl to be repeatedly raped and ultimately murdered by her boyfriend. She chose to do nothing. She chose to protect the monster who did this by continually lying to doctors and authorities, and by ultimately standing by while her daughter suffered an unimaginably cruel and painful death.

She knew what was happening and she did nothing.

As a mother, I am outraged. I cannot fathom the thought of how scared and confused little Emma Thompson must have been when the one person who was supposed to protect her from harm ignored her cries, turned a blind eye to the 80+ bruises on her tiny body, and ultimately sat by and watched as she died an agonizing and slow death.

How can someone who is capable of THAT be called a mother? How can someone capable of THAT even be described as human?

We need to make it clear that there is ZERO tolerance for child abuse and murder in the state of Texas.
Not now. Not ever.

Do you think serving less than 3 years of a 20 year sentence regarding the brutal, horrific rape and murder of Emma Thompson warrants parole for Abigail Young?

I am respectfully asking that parole for Abigail Young be denied.
Sincerely,

Beautiful Lori TX-thank you so much!!

New deadline for letters opposing
parole for Abigail Young:
6/30/13

Yesterday (5/30/13), I spoke to a representative from the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice - Victim Services Division in Austin, TX.

I was told that numerous letters opposing Abigail Young's parole have been received.

Parole review is a process. The representative told me that letters can still be sent and if received by June, 30, 2013, they will be included in Abigail Young's file which will be sent to the Texas Board of Pardons & Paroles.

The representative suggests that if any one still wants to write a letter, they do so as soon as possible. The sooner; the better!

Also, you can write more than one letter. If you already sent a letter and you forgot to include some info you wanted to state in your first letter, you can send another letter. It will be included in Abigail Young's file.

You can include Links to articles, pdf files, etc. in your letter.

So . . . if you have not written a letter opposing Abigail Young's parole, you still have an opportunity to be a voice for her daughter, the victim . . . barely-4-year old Emma Thompson who was brutally raped and beaten to death!

As stated in previous comments, serving less than 3 years of a 20 year sentence is not justice for Emma Thompson!

What about starting a petition on change.org? I would be happy to create it and post it here so everyone can distribute to their Facebook friends, twitter, email, etc. I bet we could get a TON of signatures in a couple of weeks time! That could really bolster all of the denial request letters being sent in...

Let me know and I'll get it done! :)

Hi, Reader!

The representative I spoke to at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Victims Services Division indicated that letters should not be resent.

New letters with additional info that one may have forgotten to include in their original letter can be sent. Letters addressing other issues besides what was in the original letter can be sent. In other words, do not re-send the original letter.

If you want to add to your original letter, please send a new letter.

For example, I sent my letter.

A few days later, I sent a letter including the Links to the Opinions - Fourteenth Court of Appeals - Abigail Young and Lucas Coe (2 Links).

About a week later, I sent some pictures of Emma Thompson with a request to deny Young's parole.

I sent another letter and included some Links from the local media which covered the "up for parole" story for 2013.

I have sent 4 letters so far and will send another before the June 30, 2013 deadline. All of the letters were "new" letters with different info.

Reader, if you will check the previous pages, you will find some Links to articles and to the pdf files from the Fourteenth Court of Appeals regarding the appeals of Abigail Young and Lucas Coe. They are detailed and graphic. Great to include in your letter.
