Owen Whiddon was the teenager who found Gallagher’s body under a tarp in the street.

His family was visited by the FBI Thursday morning asking questions about what they saw.

The family didn’t want to elaborate on the FBI visit except to say it was brief.

Why UNDER a tarp? Was she not wrapped up in the tarp? I don't get this wording. The tarp looked opened up a bit in the photos I saw but I expected that that was because LE unwrapped her.

I answered my own question about the three RSOs living together. City data has the house owned by one said sex offender. So the other two are his roommates? Lovely.

RSO's often have to room together because of limitations placed on where they are able to live (i.e. not within XX feet of a daycare, school, park, etc). It's an unfortunate by-product of what was meant to be a stipulation to safeguard children. But, all it does is leave many RSO's homeless and without fixed addresses to register at or grouping together in the same locale -- not necessarily the best way to safeguard children.

It does seem to appear as though it is someone in the neighbourhood who knew Alanna and her parents, and knew she wouldn't be immediately missed.

Just like my parents wouldn't have missed me.

LE need to look for someone who unexpectedly got the house to themselves that day. An opportunist who had probably been watching Alanna for a while.

Sifting through the thread to find the address of where poor Allana's body was dumped--does anyone have the address handy? TIA

According to this part of the interaction between child and parent... There is no mention of a tarp...

Do we know for sure there was a tarp to begin with...

Or was a tarp placed over the plastic bag (by LE) which held AG as a measure to protect and give dignity to the child?

Sorry if I am having a brain blip....

The tarp was there when the teens found Alanna.

So basically no one has been ruled out, that would include family, neighbors, mailman... It could be anyone.

Police don't call people POI or suspects anymore... Hardly ever unless they're searching specifically for an individual. IMO

The Daily Mail article uses the term "ruled out" in regards to the family, but I think that was an interpretation of LE's statements. I agree that it is very difficult to know what LE means these days.

I came here to discuss what I knew about the neighborhood.
and especially, the amount of what appears to be staging in this crime, which is quite unusual and merits discussion.

So, once again, I am stating that I think the elements of staging are extremely unusual and I am not surprised that the FBI has a large presence in this case.

Agree or disagree?

Respectfully,
Maria

What do you feel is staging?

IMO she was restrained and probably smothered. The bags and tarp were to conceal. I think it was an accidental dumping by the perp,

If no one has been ruled out...LE has no business saying the community should not worry or that a child predator is not at large.

I watched the new conference yesterday and it was qualified by a " not at this time"

Which basically means either they're waiting for test results to come back and ducks in a row on a prime suspect or they have no stinking idea.

Either way... It means we know NOTHING;)

All in my opinion

That means “any single person in this area is a suspect,” officer Damon Ing said at a news conference.
and...

The family was questioned by police. “We have many leads to follow,” Ing said, “but at this time, the family is not suspected.”

The officer said he does not believe that a predator is stalking Saginaw.

“I want to assure the community that it is perfectly safe,” Ing said. “We don’t have this sort of thing here. I believe this will be an isolated case.”

Alanna's school info:

Alanna was a kindergartner at Willow Creek Elementary School in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw district, officials said.

Two interesting statements reported in the article linked above:

1.). "We're still trying to piece together when she was last seen," Ing said.
"She had been going in and out of the house all afternoon."

2.) A poster was wondering what the reference to a receipt was...
This article states that an FBI Evidence Receipt was found inside one of the cars...

FYI...

I completely and totally agree.

In what universe is there nothing to worry about when a 6 year old BABY is bound, murdered and left laying in the street, stuffed in a bag, in a tarp like trash? Someone did it!

I'd be VERY worried.

I just don't see how you can give dignity by leaving her in the street where she could have been run over by a car. If you want to give her dignity, you place her somewhere safe, either buried to keep her from being scavenged by animals, or in a place where people can eventually find her.

I think she fell out of a truck bed, the perp was most likely on his way to finding a dump site....I don't think that residential intersection was his first choice. Since she had a bag over her head makes me think she was already used and dead, she wasn't alive when she fell on the street...the fall didn't kill her. Sometime between 4-7:30 was when she was with this killer.

Well... Obviously I was having a brain blip... Because the tarp has been mentioned in a bajillion MSM articles.... So... Sorry...

I was referring to the LE having placed a tarp over the poor girl's body so as to keep her from prying eyes while the scene was being processed...

Much like a canvas tent-like structures are placed over discovered remains to provide privacy and dignity...

Note.... Not by the PERP.... But by respectful LE...
