There are a couple of others cases of kids found in/next to the street.
They just didn't get as much publicity.

Most were just "tossed out" so where they landed was not a conscious choice.

Tennielle Big Day was found dead on a highway
Mom had pushed her out of the vehicle.

Alijah was left on the side of the road, by his father

Baby Crystal was found just off the road, Mom put her there.

Baby Boy Horry also found on the side of the road, left by a parent it's assumed (unidentified)

Here is another deceased boy, Camden Hughes age 6, who was left at the side of the road to be quickly found. His mom was arrested. :(

My understanding is that he was convicted on a confession and witness ID.
No physical evidence and he didn't reveal location of the body.
So it's not a 100 % convincing that he is a guilty party.

Also claims low IQ and that he was coerced into the confession.

(I know neither of these are uncommon claims.)

This has prob. already been posted, but it was the first I had read about it:

Incident With Pickup Truck Eyed in Saginaw Slaying

Police investigating the slaying of a Saginaw girl are looking into an incident in which a man approached two young Fort Worth sisters a month ago, but sped away when the girls' father confronted him.

The sisters, Alex Acuna, 9, and Andrea Acuna, 11, said they were in their front yard when the driver of a red pickup truck tried to get their attention.

"He said, 'Hey you, come over here. I have something for you,'" Alex Acuna said

Also, he was just convicted of her kidnapping. He was never charged with her murder.

Likely because he was convicted before body was found.
So there was no proof she was dead at the time of the trial.

Yes, that's correct.

the perp doesn't have to be a he...a little research into women (in general) that murder children and disposal methods/locations, etc is interesting, and some parallels might be drawn

Someone pointed out the Sandra Cantu case last night. Speaking only for myself, that one was so...weird and disturbing...I think my brain keeps intentionally forgetting it. (I meant to research it after it was brought up last night, and then promptly forgot again until your post.)

I agree. For my posts, I'm using "he" in just a general sense, not male-specific. I guess i just assumed others were, too. I think saying "they" would confuse the issue and have fourteen pages of people asking why I think there's more than one perp, where LE has said there was more than one, asking for a link to substantiate my "they," etc. :scared: "He" is used by me as a convenience, nothing more.

And the witness was a small child, Opal's friend. And Franks claimed Opal went willingly but the witness reported that she was grabbed, thrown in the car and punched in the chest.

Yea, but it's not uncommon for child molesters to claim a child was coming on to him.

And don't forget, she "came on to him." Ugh. I need to bleach my brain for having typed that.

The one significant difference in this case (IF Alanna was intentionally placed at the curb) is that Sandra's killer tried to conceal her corpse to keep it from being discovered.

Not the first time I heard molester claiming that the child was the one enticing him, etc. I think they might actually be delusional enough to believe that.

I agree. Just noting some inconsistency in the confession and eye witness report. But yes if Franks was the man he is lying or delusional.

The Saginaw Texas News Facebook page is reporting a big police presence about a mile where she was found. Crime tape, police searching fields, helicopters out according to neighbors.

Not sure if it's related but something to keep an eye out for.

From their page:
"Several reports this morning of an unknown incident occurring at a home in the 600 block of Blue Ridge Trl. House roped off with crime tape. Will update with details if/when they become available."
