I love this! Perfect example for so many things. We lived in an area that was hit by a massive tornado. I heard the sirens. I got the phone calls from family telling us to take cover and we weren't home but just wanted to get back home so we didn't listen. We thought it was just a storm. Wrong. I find myself starting to relax again and sometimes it snaps me back to that day.BBM
Agreed. Thinking again to the crocodile pond. A big croc jumps up and snaps a gazelle! The birds fly! The zebras bray and run, the whole crowd is upset, the monkeys throw rocks!!!
Then...well, enough time goes by and someone needs a drink of water and they all relax and pretend that the crocodiles aren't in the water.
~Until it happens again.
~Probably some dang zebra mom saying..."Oh for Heaven's sake you have more chance of being struck by lightning than getting snatched by a crock, I let my kids go down there and drink all the time...THEY SHOULD be able to go down there and drink for crying out loud."
Exactly how it was and thank you. I'd never been around anything like this in my life and my parents have always been strong about right and wrong and I knew they could calm me and help me. I feel for those that don't have this type of family.I'm so very glad you were strong enough and had support enough to get out and away
Whenever I tell people about self-defense I tell them to think of a crocodile pond. The water looks calm and serene. All is well seemingly from an outside perspective.
The crocodiles you know, they work very hard at maintaining this appearance of serene calm. They ACTIVELY create this outward appearance.
Just underneath the water is a whole different picture. Unfortunately we don't get to see that picture until we are in the water.
You did VERY WELL to get out.
I keep wondering if it's possible they are doing what LE is asking of them and just keeping low.Why aren't the parents asking for something!
This is my pet peeve! People are to trusting with their kids and other people. I always tell my daughter, who isn't so trusting but just as a reminder, not everyone is as nice and good of person as you.I would say yes because there are loads of pics of the whole family all over the internet and that is a scary practice.
Just thinking, about the red tape (again). There was another case where red tape was used and it was tracked to American Airlines. I wonder does Lockheed Martin use's red tape. Similar industry.
What was the other case? Tia
Does anyone remember Holly Bobo? I'm getting the same weird vibe from this case like I did her's. The police said next to nothing and the family shut down. We still arent privy to certain crucial timelines and evidence found in that case. Everything went silent quickly. I fear the same will happen here.
BTW the media here in Dallas is a joke. Seriously. I've been to other cities and here traffic, politics and fluff pieces make the news. Stories show up and there is no follow up on TV.

In the cases I've followed the ones where LE asked for the publics help and were very vocal (Jessica Ridgeway, Amber Pasquale, Whitney Heichel) were all solved, bodies found and arrests made. In cases where LE was quiet and many speculated that they had a suspect and were just playing it close to the vest, they are still unsolved (Lisa Irwin, Celina Cass, Elizabeth Collins & Lryic Cook).
I wish I could have that optimism that LE is going to make an arrest soon, but I don't see it happening. I fear this case will be added to the list of others that remain unsolved.
It's not that I think LE isn't doing their job, sometimes they just don't have much to work with and when they aren't asking for the publics help then they are not going to get more to go on.
Here's a new blurb on a defense attorney's website; I don't think it provides any new info, but it has a definite spin:
http://www.brodenmickelsen.com/blog/investigation-into-killing-of-alanna-gallagher-6-sheds-light-on-high-tech-evidence-gathering/
It mentions that the affidavit for the search warrant was sealed but there are Tarrant county court documents which show they are planning on conducting forensic analysis on the electronics (I would assume that was their intent, else there is no reason to bother seizing them). I wonder what it said in the affidavit...

Yeah, but I'm just not sure how suddenly and unexpectedly finding a body compares to being given bad news in an ER where bad news is anticipated or, at the least, dreaded.
Curious.
People on here have said that the affidavit contains the details of the crime
“Every time I walk out that front door, I’m going to look over here and know I found a little girl. Someone’s little girl, that’s just sitting here miserable in the middle of the street dead, and her family’s out there wondering where she’s at,” Smith said.http://m.nbcdfw.com/nbcdfw/pm_108123/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=QxqoT4Gn
That's what the older teen said. The one on the scooter. The younger one said he ran home and told his mom "It's a little girl." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2354825/Alanna-Gallagher-6-dead-tarp-Saginaw-Texas.html. He was on a bike, IIRC. They found the body together and some people say it had been there for awhile.
I also read these two are cousins. So where did they kill and wrap Alanna? When mom was home? And the neighborhood filled with kids playing? I'm not buying it. Not for a second.
How does the sight of hair tell someone the body is that of a female? :waitasec:
