Just thinking, about the red tape (again). There was another case where red tape was used and it was tracked to American Airlines. I wonder does Lockheed Martin use red tape? Similar industry.

Agreed. Thinking again to the crocodile pond. A big croc jumps up and snaps a gazelle! The birds fly! The zebras bray and run, the whole crowd is upset, the monkeys throw rocks!!!
Then...well, enough time goes by and someone needs a drink of water and they all relax and pretend that the crocodiles aren't in the water.
~Until it happens again.
~Probably some dang zebra mom saying..."Oh for Heaven's sake you have more chance of being struck by lightning than getting snatched by a crock, I let my kids go down there and drink all the time...THEY SHOULD be able to go down there and drink for crying out loud."
I love this! Perfect example for so many things. We lived in an area that was hit by a massive tornado. I heard the sirens. I got the phone calls from family telling us to take cover and we weren't home but just wanted to get back home so we didn't listen. We thought it was just a storm. Wrong. I find myself starting to relax again and sometimes it snaps me back to that day.

I'm so very glad you were strong enough and had support enough to get out and away
Whenever I tell people about self-defense I tell them to think of a crocodile pond. The water looks calm and serene. All is well seemingly from an outside perspective.
The crocodiles you know, they work very hard at maintaining this appearance of serene calm. They ACTIVELY create this outward appearance.
Just underneath the water is a whole different picture. Unfortunately we don't get to see that picture until we are in the water.
You did VERY WELL to get out.
Exactly how it was and thank you. I'd never been around anything like this in my life and my parents have always been strong about right and wrong and I knew they could calm me and help me. I feel for those that don't have this type of family.

SBM
Why aren't the parents asking for something!
I keep wondering if it's possible they are doing what LE is asking of them and just keeping low.

I would say yes because there are loads of pics of the whole family all over the internet and that is a scary practice.
This is my pet peeve! People are to trusting with their kids and other people. I always tell my daughter, who isn't so trusting but just as a reminder, not everyone is as nice and good of person as you.

MOO

Does anyone remember Holly Bobo? I'm getting the same weird vibe from this case like I did her's. The police said next to nothing and the family shut down. We still arent privy to certain crucial timelines and evidence found in that case. Everything went silent quickly. I fear the same will happen here.

BTW the media here in Dallas is a joke. Seriously. I've been to other cities and here traffic, politics and fluff pieces make the news. Stories show up and there is no follow up on TV.

Oh great, I can totally see this case going the way of Holly Bobo where no one is saying a word. I hope this case is solved soon because if it's not, I can see everyone acting like it never happened.

ETA: Right now, we can speculate that everyone is silent because LE has a suspect. Now, in 6 months, if the case is unsolved, it will be more likely that they don't have a suspect. At that point, is LE going to start warning the community, asking for help, communicating more? Are the parents going to make media appearances to raise awareness? Or is this case just going to get quieter and quieter as each day passes?

In the cases I've followed the ones where LE asked for the publics help and were very vocal (Jessica Ridgeway, Amber Pasquale, Whitney Heichel) were all solved, bodies found and arrests made. In cases where LE was quiet and many speculated that they had a suspect and were just playing it close to the vest, they are still unsolved (Lisa Irwin, Celina Cass, Elizabeth Collins & Lryic Cook).

I wish I could have that optimism that LE is going to make an arrest soon, but I don't see it happening. I fear this case will be added to the list of others that remain unsolved.

It's not that I think LE isn't doing their job, sometimes they just don't have much to work with and when they aren't asking for the publics help then they are not going to get more to go on.

I find it hard to believe LE would not have much to go on. They asked for things such as urine. There is the tape, the tarp, receipts, cat hair.

Either this is a criminal mastermind in a hazmat suit or the DNA they have does not match anything or------ they are going to be really solid on this and avoid a Casey A

Here's a new blurb on a defense attorney's website; I don't think it provides any new info, but it has a definite spin:

http://www.brodenmickelsen.com/blog/investigation-into-killing-of-alanna-gallagher-6-sheds-light-on-high-tech-evidence-gathering/

It mentions that the affidavit for the search warrant was sealed but there are Tarrant county court documents which show they are planning on conducting forensic analysis on the electronics (I would assume that was their intent, else there is no reason to bother seizing them). I wonder what it said in the affidavit...

People on here have said that the affidavit contains the details of the crime

Possible leads from the tarp and tape aside, if the belt used to secure the tarp was a typical leather belt, I would think it would be crawling with DNA. Unless it was brand new (say, just purchased at Wal-mart with the price tag still attached?)

I had been sitting on the fence in wondering if the body in the street were intentional or accidental, but thinking of the belt makes me think it was accidental (again, unless the belt was brand-new, maybe even sitting in a bag inside a car with some other purchases and simply hadn't been carried into the house yet).

I would think a used belt would be a good way to connect the crime to a location (house), even if the belt didn't belong to the perp. It makes me think the perp was using the tarp to keep the body out of sight, and the belt was jury-rigged to keep the tarp from flying off, and the perp intended to remove at least the belt (and maybe the tarp) when the body was dumped it in the intended location.

But if the belt were a good source of DNA, then wouldn't LE have a good lead? Maybe the DNA wouldn't match anything in the database, but I doubt a perp would want to leave such evidence with a body.

Scenario

Young perp, not very strong puts 50+# body in black garbage bag. Can not pick it up, too heavy, resorts to pushing, tugging on bag. Rips off a piece of the bag (this would explain the black object in the photo's from earlier). Realizes that is not going to work. Finds tarp which would allow perp to maneuver the body better, uses belt to secure body inside the tarp. Did not put the body all the way inside the truck bed (on the tail gate or very near), for the reasons above. Body falls out of truck, realizes that it would take too much time to get back into truck. Drives away in a panic.

Yeah, but I'm just not sure how suddenly and unexpectedly finding a body compares to being given bad news in an ER where bad news is anticipated or, at the least, dreaded.

Yes, you don't expect to find a body on your sidewalk. Shock alone would cause odd reactions.

Also, it seems that just because a particular person's reaction might seem unusual, that doesn't mean it's abnormal.

I must have missed that.

I just listened to the 911 call again and the father of one of the teens isn't even sure if the body is real, hence the use of "it". I wasn't sure if he had seen the body himself but it sounds like he is looking at her during the call, IMO. It sounds like he is saying that the plastic bag was "popped up" by the kids. I never stated that the teens called her "it" but the 911 caller. Now I understand why.

“Every time I walk out that front door, I’m going to look over here and know I found a little girl. Someone’s little girl, that’s just sitting here miserable in the middle of the street dead, and her family’s out there wondering where she’s at,” Smith said.http://m.nbcdfw.com/nbcdfw/pm_108123/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=QxqoT4Gn

That's what the older teen said. The one on the scooter. The younger one said he ran home and told his mom "It's a little girl." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2354825/Alanna-Gallagher-6-dead-tarp-Saginaw-Texas.html. He was on a bike, IIRC. They found the body together and some people say it had been there for awhile.

I also read these two are cousins. So where did they kill and wrap Alanna? When mom was home? And the neighborhood filled with kids playing? I'm not buying it. Not for a second.

Where was it someone accused them of this? I guess I must have missed that part.

I just wrote I thought it was an odd reaction. Based on my real life experience it IS an odd reaction to me. If you go on ahead and speak to any investigative cop who's GOOD at what they do, they will tell you that sometimes they develop a 'hunch' about someone. It's this hunch or feeling that leads them to FOLLOW UP a little farther with someone. Doesn't mean this person is guilty it just means that something they said, something they didn't say, some kind of body language made this investigator say..."Hmmm that was ODD." and pay closer attention to it.

Does this Saginaw neighborhood use garbage toters/bins or do people just set out garbage bags on garbage days?
