I have thought about this, as well. It was unseasonably cool here that day, really beautiful weather. Our neighborhood had people out all over the place. The only think I can think of, is she didn't make it far enough, or was outside long enough...for people to see her. If truly no one saw her, then maybe she was taken right away. :(
There aren't any bushes for a boogeyman to hide behind in Alanna's yard for her to have been "taken right away".

If Alanna was quickly taken, it had to be by a monster with a motor vehicle. If people were out all over the place, someone would have very likely seen (and heard) a vehicle quickly stop, a monster jumping out, the abduction, the vehicle's door shutting, and then the vehicle driving away.

I've never bashed the parents on this board. They live and behave differently than I chose to. Does the difference make my family immune from tragedy? Of course not!

Human nature being what it is, in situations such as these, requires some denial or no one would ever let their children interact with anyone ever. So people do look for something done differently than themselves and say... Ah ha! See! That wouldn't never happen to MY child because...X,Yor Z.

I do not know if anyone thinks it can't happen to their child.

I think everyone knows that it could happen to any of us.

I think a lot of us try to minimize obvious risks. You can get hit by a piece of a meteor while walking down the street. Anything can happen at anytime.

We do things like car seats in cars, helmets, no long scarves on the ski hill. All of these things are based on other's sad experiences,

But there are no guarantees.

Here is the link with the grandmother of the twin girls who live 4 doors over (according to the news report). Did Alanna visit here on July 1st to play with them? The grandmother does not mention anything about her going over on that day. I remember seeing something about a grandfather mentioning seeing her at 5 pm on the front lawn (maybe I'm mixing up some details?).

I started on one the other night. Give me a little while, and I'll post a link.

Anyone know where I can make a map and place where the girls have gone missing?

I place what I have down below b/c I'm at a lost right now on how to make one. One place crashes my computer another wants to keep adding my house. I give up for right now and will try again another day.

Ashley Estrell Plano, TX
Disappeared Sept 4 1993 (Sat) Labor Day Sept 6
Carpenter Park 6701 Coit Rd Plano TX
Found 6 miles from park. I tried to see if I could find a dirt road 6 miles from the park but I bet many things have changed over the yrs.

While digging up more info on Ashley I found a local reporter ( Shelly Slater from WFAA) who says she was friends with Ashley. I wonder if she might be willing to add anything since Ashley seems to be forgotten and Blair taken center stage. Anyone good at writing letters? I am horrible at writing maybe someone wants to send her an email.

Amber Hagerman Arlington TX
Disappeared Jan 13 1996 ( Sat) Martin Luther King Day Jan 15th
Highland Dr went around the corner towards East Abrams St
Found 4 miles away Have not found an address. A guy walking his dog near Forest Hill apartments found her. Looking up these apartments I see they were formerly Northridge so I do not know if this is the correct place.

Jessica Ridgeway was taken when kids were walking to school, people were driving to drop their kids off to school, and people were going to work. No one saw a thing. Ashley Estell was taken from a busy soccer field playground, and no one saw that happen. Kids do get taken, with people not seeing anything. It happens. Whose to say she didn't get in and they calmly drove away? In addition to that, there are dozens of other scenarios. If she had been outside for 2 hours or more, I really believe someone would have reported seeing her. Why assume a monster sped up, grabbed her, and sped away? Young children are easily coerced and manipulated.

BBM

It (and all or most responses) was removed pretty quickly because it was by an unverified insider. I keep hoping whoever it was has been verified since then and can repeat it. I do believe it was YS, but I don't remember for sure.

I really cannot remember except what she said. Was it a video?

If so, why would the info be removed?

I'm not sure it's a video but I remember reading it on here.

We did have a 5 pm time on here so where did that last seen time come from? TIA

Though I have tried to follow pretty closely in the last few days, I have NOT followed this case from the beginning, so there are likely many details (maybe important ones) with which I am not familiar -- so please don't hesitate to set me straight if I am completely off base with this, or whether it has been discussed earlier:

Has anything been released about COD, condition of the body, etc. that would completely rule out that Alanna might have met with a fatal accident -- car hit, fell in someone's swimming pool, that kind of thing -- for which someone (outside the family) would have been liable and might, rather than doing the right thing, have freaked out, hid her body while trying to decide what to do?

This, to me, might explain why, so quickly, she was bundled up and put close to home, so the parents would find out quickly and not be left not knowing...?

My memory isn't always the greatest, but what I remember is that it was a poster who had either talked to the person who saw her or had a friend who did. There was never a video or anything on MSM that I recall, and the poster hadn't been verified.

This report has very interesting information specifically about child abduction-murders. How they compare and differ to other child murders, and murders in general. I'm still reading through the whole thing, but for anyone else who is interested, scroll down the page to download the full PDF.

This may give us some very good insights in trying to narrow down a perp in this case....

I believe the only verified time last seen we have is "before 3:30 or 4:00" (possibly well before) from LDHummingbird.

There's more than a few strange things going on in this case.

Any update on vehicles
No dogs
No call for vigilance, instead we get it was an "isolated case"
No missing clothing description
No be on the look out for clothing
No trash truck search
No asking for publics help about anything specific at all... Specifically like someone that left work early or went for an unexpected drive, acting weird... Nope... Nothing!

Other then the information contained in the 911 call, nothing has been released about her body. COD has not been determined, per the coroners indications. That doesn't mean they don't have an idea, though. Actually, I don't know what that means.

Here's another interesting quote from the LE spokesman. He stated, "Things like this happen sometimes in our community." This was immediately before or immediately after he stated that "this is an isolated case" and "I can assure you the town is safe". (paraphrased)

What does an "isolated case" mean in law enforcement speak?
To me, it means a domestic situation but, they also say the parents are not the suspects. My next guess is that they have no proof if it is the work of a serial killer or do not want to panic the public.
Any other cases where the LE claimed "isolated case" when it was not?

It's an idea we've played around with off and on. I believe the ME said she was "not strangled, shot, or stabbed" but wouldn't say anything else.

I am not able to come up with a motive for a non-family member trying to cover up an accidental death other than extreme fear of financial liability if the child died (drowned?) on their property. i.e., being sued by family. Or younger people panicking (pool games gone wrong? Alanna apparently could not swim).

A drowning would help explain why LE took water samples, hot tub chemicals, and a wet bathing suit from her home. But people have come up with other explanations for those, or at least the water sample.

LE never said the parents were or werent suspects. They did say they weren't PRIME suspects and apparently LE has not officially cleared anyone. IMO
