Just throwing in my interpretation of the 911 call...I hear "tarped up" especially since she was wrapped in a tarp.

Which 911 call?

But a dad says he saw her last around 4-5, right?

Yeah, right.

MM dad stated to the cameras that he wasn't sure LE wanted that info released, so he didn't release it. KG dad never mentioned it to the press. He did say something though. Check the basement.

And did some neighbors say they saw her, as well? (Still kind of new on the thread and confused about some things.)

Pensfan, I see that the CNN report linked in that post speaks of decomposition (says a TV station reported the body was decomposed to the point that LE had trouble determining gender ...??!! I hadn't seen this before) -- but the boys/parents who made the discovery, they didn't say anything about odor, etc., did they, in their interviews?
KTVT said the body was decomposed, making it difficult for officials to determine the child's gender.

KTVT might have said it, but we never heard it from the eyewitnesses. :twocents:

No neighbors went on camera or talked to the media to state that they saw Alanna on July 1st.

That leads me to believe 2 things:
-Domestic
-An accident

(MOO alert)
When she was out an about that day was she on a bike or scooter? Any neighbors currently on probation for a crime? Maybe a drunk neighbor already on probation for a DUI hit her on their way home from work and panicked. With no new info my mind is running wild! MOO IMO

Why would he bind her hands and feet?

They used the word "decomposing". IMO this means she smelled like a rotting piece of meat and had been dead for MANY hours (not just 4 or 5 hours).

We've talked about this up thread. I believe this is an artifact of poor reporting. When that article was published they also said that her sex couldn't be determined. I think what happened is LE declined to tell the reporter Alanna's gender, and the reporter assumed this meant her sex couldn't be determined and then in turn assumed that she must be in an advanced state of decomp… none of which was true.

Given the narrow time frame, they probably couldn't use liver temp to pinpoint her TOD any better than they already have, just knowing she died sometime between when she was last seen and when she was found. Her official TOD is 7:33, but that's almost certainly simply the time the coroner arrived on the scene and declared her dead.

Rigor starts in the smaller muscles first. (Not all of the muscles begin to show rigor mortis at the same time.)

Right, I'm assuming when he attempted to pick her up, and when he opened it up. I don't think he would notice neck, eyelids etc.

Yes, and, IIRC, several factors can affect the onset/duration and, with small children, sometimes the phenomenon proceeds a little differently than with adults...?

I've read about a 2pm sighting by neighbor.

I thought the lady that drove away leaving Alanna standing in the driveway was on the first?

bbm: I am very curious to know from what cellphones. One assumes they would likely examine the family's phones, but are there others that are being looked at?

Aw! Backwoods I remember you from some other cases! You are good at this! Glad to see you on this case!

Neighbors said her father started looking for her about 9pm Tuesday – an hour and a half after he body was found. They recalled him going door-to-door asking if anyone had seen his daughter.

Another neighbor, Derinda, told the Morning News that she saw Alanna’s mother around that time, too. The neighbor said she didn’t seem very worried about her daughter.

Derinda recalls the mother saying: ‘I bet she’s over at a neighbor’s home. She always does this.’

This indicates they started looking at 9, yet it's been posted by the verified insider that LG started looking at 6? IIRC it was MM searching at 9, did KG ever join the search?

The second most common type of staging in a homicide is changing the scene/body to make it appear that the homicide was the result of a sexual attack.

I'm guessing that they collected cell phone images from anyone on her street (or the intersection) who took any images outside that day. People are camera crazy these days if neighbors volunteered whatever images they took that day, each one would have a time stamp.

If a crime occurred on my street and investigators asked me if I'd taken any pictures that day, I would lay odds that I had. I take pictures every day.

They probably also collected her family's phones, but I can't imagine they'd have images of the perp or his vehicle. Unless by some weird coincidence.

More likely anyone who took photos outside, and it was a gorgeous day, cooler than typical for July.

Was that on FB or a news article?

Yes. To my knowledge, but unconfirmed.
And right now I am not putting stock in it!

I know ambient temperature can effect it. But iirc temp was pretty average. I don't think age matters much as it a chemical reaction. In my very unprofessional opinion.
