It does my heart good to see the flurry of activity on this thread after so many times coming to WS, seeing Ali's thread on the 2nd or 3rd or more page, bumping it up and adding my 2 cents-worth.

It is so difficult to hope that this monster did NOT get his filthy hands on Ali while, at the same time, being hopeful of what appears to be the first "break" in her case after such a long time...

I have spent so many hours in researching people with possible connections and writing emails to the TX DA, AT, sheriff, etc. (all of which seems to have been in vain now that it seems this serial murderer is more and more seeming like he did have something to do with her disappearance) but I'm one of those people who canNOT just "sit there" and do nothing when something like this happens. I have to be "engaged" in order to keep from going berserk. Anyway, maybe the emails to TX officials at least kept Ali's name in the front of their minds.

Good to see Jo Ann here.

The people here on WebSleuths do the angels' work, Jo Ann. They are not only concerned, they are bright and enthusiastic and well-connected and do amazing, miraculous things.

Bless you, bless you... each and every ONE of you.

"Justice for Ali!"

Although this is 2.5 hours away, the time frame of 6-8 months did match...

Spring, TX to Cameron, TX - Google Maps

When I got to the "CAMERON TX" part, my eyes got big... Didn't someone here post that his sister lived in either "Spring or Cameron"?

Does anyone know if any of the girls missing in the links given are still missing? OR if this man was "out and about" at the time?

Might be worth checking out...

Lavergne was transferred from Phelps to Avoyelles Parish Corr. Center. From there he was released to a halfway house in Broussard, Louisiana called Service Mechanic Power House Compression Services. He was there from 2006 to 2008 at which time he was released on what is called “goodtime/parole supervision.” Under this law, Lavergne was not eligible for “straight” parole (a privilege available after serving one-third of sentence).

Goodtime in Louisiana requires all inmates to serve 85% of their sentence at which time they are automatically released but with the condition that the remainder of their sentence be served under parole supervision. Phelps has a pre-release program conducted within the prison during the 90 days before an inmate’s release.
The institution does not release inmates directly to halfway houses. Instead it will transfer the inmate to another prison that does, such as the ACC. Inmates at halfway houses are under strict curfews. They are permitted to work in the community but must return to facility at certain times.

Most sex offenders do have electronic ankle bracelets. Halfway houses are more strict in its rules enforcement than prison. Hope this information helps. Thank you for your interest.

Powerhouse Compression is really an oilfield business and not a halfway house. Not even close. I live in the area where this company is located.

If you look in Mickey Shunick's sub-forum, I think they have an entire thread discussing other possible victims and it has his times of incarceration listed, along with a list of other missing persons as well as a map pinning where they went missing from. Yes, I believe it was Spring TX that his biological 1/2 sister is from.

GCK, Avoyelles Correctional Center is the halfway house. Powerhouse Compression receives Fed/St tax credits for hiring the prison inmates. The prison system is a multibillion dollar enterprise.

FYI: An inmate at Angola costs the state an average of $23,000 a year. A young lifer will rack up more than $1 million in taxpayer-funded expenses if he reaches the Louisiana male life expectancy of 72.

HB850 focuses only on the Avoyelles prison, which would be owned and run by a private company.

The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Henry Burns, said the state needs the dollars that would be derived from the sale and privatization. He said that money could be used for programs that ease an inmate’s return to society with the goal of reducing future crimes.

“Is it about the money? Well, definitely it is about public safety,” said Burns, R-Haughton.

Yes his sister does live in the Spring area. I remember reading that in several places.

I have read more detais on other msm.... she was pregnant and had a baby during her captivity. She was held less than a year after Jaycee dugard was found. Copycat??? Just gross. Please fix this world!

Back about 5 years ago, the St. Louis metro area also had the case of Michael Devlin, who held a young boy captive for over 5 years. Devlin had attempted to kidnap a second boy and days later is when both boys were rescued. Sorry if O/T but also thought it was reason to hold out hope for missing persons.

It would be a huge favor to everyone if someone in law enforcement or someone who knew how to check records could once and for all tell us EXACTLY what dates he was locked up (I mean BEHIND wires, in jail, not 12 inches past the GATE) so that we could rule in or rule out murders he may have committed. I have a few cases that look like his handiwork, but I can never get past the question Was he or was he not incarcerated on this or that date. I think this is a very important parameter to establish once and for all. The thing that bugs me also is that how in the heck was he buying and selling vehicles while he was in prison? That makes no sense. The only way it makes sense is if perhaps he was using his own credit/social security number to buy vehicles for somebody else who did not want the vehicles in their name for whatever reason. Somebody pointed out to me that sometimes prisoners will do this because the prisoner has better credit rating than the other person (which is pretty darn sad). Anyway, I will nto believe he was in prison (behind the wire 100% of the day) if he bought or sold a car on a certain date. To me that indicates he was out and about.

'The thing that bugs me is Why was he buying a vehicle while incarcerated'?

It hurts my heart so bad that this case has not gotten more attention, I first hearf of this case from Mickey's thread. I have a 16 year old daughter and I dont know that I could be as strong as these parents are.Even if BL is not connected to Ali I pray that this will bring renewed intrest in her case and spark a fire under LE's a??!!!!

IMO, this seems like very promising information about what may have happened and the first real clue I have heard about in this case. If it turns out to be true, I feel so awful for the family and for Ali. At this point, any information is better than no information though, right?

I had not previously heard anything about a white truck being mentioned on the tip line. If this info had been made public, I have no doubt that some sleuthers here would have made some connection due to the prominent role white trucks have played in recent cases.

This concerns me very much that the family has been advised not to talk to the media. Silence only causes innocent lives lost and mounting cold cases, imo. One only has to compare the solved missing persons investigations to the many, many cases that have gone cold to realize this.

To request silence by the family indicates to me that the integrity of the investigative department; Harris Co., TX Sheriffs Dept., is being placed above the integrity of the investigation of the innocent victim; Alexandria Joy Lowitzer..
A very valuable resource; the American public, is simply being neglected, imo.
Awareness is the key in solving missing persons investigations.

Imo, Ali Lowitzer, was denied her inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness by her abductor & the less than competent investigation that ensued...

http://www.katc.com/news/texas-moth...t-leads-to-information-in-her-daughters-case/

KATC's Erin Steuber has been in contact with Ali's family for the last week. She was interested in giving us an interview but now, she has been advised by law enforcement not to talk to the media because of an ongoing investigation in her daughter's case.

Ali's mother says "My goal is to find my daughter. I will never give up until I do."

SPRING – More than a year after a Spring girl went missing, her family continues to search for her. Alexandria Lowitzer, now 17, disappeared April 26, 2010, after exiting a school bus near her home on Low Ridge Road.
She was headed to pick up her paycheck at the Burger Barn near her home. Nothing is known about her disappearance and nothing has turned up in the dozen searches attempted.
Despite the time that has passed, Bob Walcutt, executive director of the Laura Recovery Center, said the chances of finding Lowitzer after the time that has elapsed is “as good as the day we started.”
