I wish we could know:
If BSL was in Spring when Ali went missing and if so, where his phone pinged in the 36 hours or so after Ali went missing.
Then, if searches were organized in areas where his phone pinged, I feel like plenty of people from the Lafayette area would show up to help search these areas for Ali, even if it meant driving to Houston. I live further east in Louisiana, and I'd come to search. If the Shunicks and administrators of the Find Mickey Now webpage and facebook got behind the searches, I know turn out would be good.

But again...we'd have to know where to search.

I wish we could hear definitely from LE whether or not BSL was in or around Spring when Ali went missing. I feel like getting his cell phone records shouldn't be too hard and they should know soon if not already. I hope they are at least telling Ms. Jo Ann & Ali's family if they know if he was in Spring or not.

I stopped by Burger Barn last week - It still gives me the creeps! As I posted earlier, it looks like it was shut down for the evening with plans to open the following day! Every thing is still in its place, the chairs, the tables, the menu boards, etc. -
There is no sign on the premises that says Burger Barn ... I found that to be odd, I could have sworn there was a BB sign there :waitasec:
Above the front door (on the outside) it says, something else - crap, I cant find the slip of paper where I wrote it down. I will drive over there tomorrow after church. Seems like it said "burgers C&J tacos". I thought possibly the place was going to open under a new name (based on this sign) that I had never noticed. I asked a neighboring business (in same strip center) about the status of this place (I acted like I was looking for a job "smile") - he told me it has been closed down for years, "they just couldn't make it on the little business they got and it has remained closed."
Ali lived 2-3 walking blocks from the strip center. IIRC, the bus stop was 1/2 block from her house. I don't know how many ppl would get off at that stop?? Ali's house is not seen from the intersection/busy street of the location of her job, Burger Barn! At that intersection there are the following businesses: Hair Salon, Subway, Dollar General (or similar), Big Grocery store (Kroger), Neighborhood Ace Hardware store, a large daycare, 2 gas stations, retail stores, 2 churches, veterinarian (sp?), cleaners x 2, .... many businesses at that intersection (several more not named). Bottom line is there is a lot of activity.
If Ali were walking from her home to BB, she would cross this intersection. There is a traffic light at the intersection with turn lanes etc.
A couple blocks east of Ali's house, Carter Country - shooting range (huge, popular)
Heavy wooded areas all around even though she lives in a sub-division with many homes. Shortly after she vanished, I was concerned at the number of vacant homes in the sub-division. I haven't driven in her immediate neighborhood in past year, but there are also three large churches real close to her house (within blocks).

Search for missing cheerleader intensifies

"Luv this Sheriff's response"..

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott has activated his major crimes unit – a team of veteran investigators, replacing the missing persons unit that initially handled the case. He said Wednesday he is highly concerned about the 15-year-old girl’s vanishing with no trace.

“We’ve put our best people on this,” Lott said in an interview. “We’re going to work this like it’s something bad, in hopes that it turns out to be something good.”

Some of the stores must of had security cameras rolling. Is it too late to go back and check the film? That was the break in Mighty Mick's case.

well, that is why we need to know where that white truck was seen. This BSL case brought out the first I had heard of this truck in the area.

Too bad a BOLO wasn't issued, we live near Ali, drive on the roads every day, we could have kept our eyes open. But I know, she was a runaway .... urgh!!!!!!

This really scares the heck out of me with the likes of BSL in "MY" neighborhood! But you know, there are many more "BSL" types lurking amongst us. Imagine, sitting at an intersection, and BSL is in he next vehicle over .... yikes!

  • #389
If someone is in that area and would take and post pictures (of Burger Barn) of the intersection, of the general route she walked, etc. where the WHITE TRUCK was parked it would help those who search with alternative methods tremendously.

  • #390
In post #176 it says that BSL was staying 1 mile away from Burger Barn sometimes. Is that correct? It also says that offshore rigs were closed during this time due to the oil spill.

Did Alexandria go to church? There are two big churches in the area. Did she attend one of those?

  • #392
And lastly -- were dogs ever used in the search? What were the results. I have a feeling the answer to this is no because they thought she was a runaway. That sux.

The Laura Recovery Center, founded by the parents of Laura Smithers, organized several searches. NOTE: While various LE organizations and other search groups were passively content in their belief that Ali was a runaway ...
God Bless this fine group! http://www.lrcf.org/

"In addition to the ground searchers, the Greater Houston Search Dogs team helped eliminate areas of concern." ... "The Laura Recovery Center would like to thank the tireless volunteers and dog handlers who are helping search for this missing girl"

aviatrix, the first few hours after an abduction are critical. Due to the number of runaways, this critical time is often squandered by investigators due to the statistics. A well trained and perceptive investigator should be able to discern between a runaway & an abduction, imo.
In Ali's case many red flags were ignored by investigators during this initial size up due to these statistics and perceived hypothesis, imo.

The mission of the FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment (CARD) Teams is to provide a quick and effective response to all incidences of crimes against children. Making this a priority increases the number of victimized children who are safely recovered and reduces the number of crimes in which children are targets. The first few hours after a child goes missing are very critical.

dejavu? Why it is very important for MS Media to ask the hard questions in missing persons cases:

http://www.kshb.com/dpp/news/local_...investigation-Part-1-nov2011swp#ixzz1lt8bao5n

Kara Kopetsky's family angered by twisted timeline uncovered in NBC Action News investigation

“I’ve killed people before, even ex-girlfriends out of sheer jealousy,” a report quotes the victim as telling police Yust said during the attack. “I will kill you.”
Yust pleaded guilty to that attack.
Yust still faces animal abuse charges stemming from a statement claiming that he killed his ex-girlfriend’s kittens.
Alleged "I killed Kara" confession in KCPD report
“I killed Kara,” is what one Kansas City Police report states a man police consider a person of interest in the case told a witness in 2007.

Okay, so BSL goes to Kroger, sees the bus, sees a high school girl get off the bus walking towards Burger Barn....she is alone....hrm.

I think I understand what happened here. Because the cops waited so long, we don't have the evidence we have in the MS case. I cannot even get a photo of Burger Barn. Wow.

This concerns me very much that the family has been advised not to talk to the media. Silence only causes innocent lives lost and mounting cold cases, imo. One only has to compare the solved missing persons investigations to the many, many cases that have gone cold to realize this.

To request silence by the family indicates to me that the integrity of the investigative department; Harris Co., TX Sheriffs Dept., is being placed above the integrity of the investigation of the innocent victim; Alexandria Joy Lowitzer..
A very valuable resource; the American public, is simply being neglected, imo.
Awareness is the key in solving missing persons investigations.

Imo, Ali Lowitzer, was denied her inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness by her abductor & the less than competent investigation that ensued...

I have been saying ALL ALONG that the Harris County Sheriff has been more worried about making his dept. look bad than finding Ali.

If I lived there, I'd find out who the opponent is who would be running against him and help that candidate out by stumping for him/her EVERY CHANCE I GOT.

Sorry for the caps...

Sometimes it just gets to me is all...

It seems to me that with the evidence that they now have (i.e. a truck matching BSL's was last seen with this victim), LE would have enough to get a search warrant for his phone records and credit card records for the time period when she went missing. If there is anything (i.e. gas station fill-up in the area), then they would know he was there.
