Bolding some relevant statements.
I was hoping the silence meant there was something going on behind the scenes, but in Joann's latest Facebook video she sounded defeated and admitted the investigation was going nowhere. Very disheartening to hear. Like I said, my own investigation ran out of steam. I had a few of Ali's friends independently corroborate that there was an older guy on the scene. Although one of them said that Ali was also dating a fellow student at the same time. Their stories really opened my eyes about this case.

I still believe that Ali was meeting someone that afternoon, using the shift at the Burger Barn as a cover. I don't buy that she was planning to runaway, although one friend did mention something about Ali going to Mexico with a guy. A meeting was set up between Ali and the older guy she was seeing. Perhaps their relationship had become too risky, as Ali was legally a minor, and the guy agreed to meet her in order to abduct her. There is part of me that wonders if Ali was hiding a pregnancy. That might have been the final straw in the relationship. An older guy, perhaps a professional with a family of his own, sleeping with a teenager who now carries his baby? I could see that as his motive for foul play. Looking at Ali's final images, she did look kind of puffy and was wearing baggy clothing, but her weight did seem to fluctuate so it's hard to tell.

There was a Facebook video with Joann and Amber (PI) over a year ago, where Amber said that they traced one of Ali's calls to a member of law enforcement. They said it was presumably the officer's son that Ali was contacting. I remember rewatching that part a couple of times to be sure I heard her right. I don't recall this ever being mentioned again, bearing in mind I haven't seen every video update.

Are these all separate people? We also have the friend she was messaging asking him to come over after. That’s a lot of people therr appears to be no info on. No way to know if any of them have been ruled out.

We know that she wasn’t spotted on the camera at the gas station near the burger barn, but what about any of these possible suspects? Did any of them drive? if any of them had a car, did law enforcement review the footage to see it might have appeared on the footage?

I’m surprised her purse was at home. I thought she would have taken it to school but I guess not.

I saw her profile on the FBI website. I hope they are involved and one day there is a resolution to this very very sad case. 😞

I wonder if perhaps she was the one who turned off her phone, willingly? I had a bit of a worry wart for a mom ( I both love and hate her for it lol) and if she knew I was out when I should home, she’d call frequently until I was back home. Maybe she hopped into someone’s car, and turned off the phone herself. Expecting to be alive to turn it back on later. It reminds me of me in my high school days.

Her mom told her no when Ali asked to walk over to the burger barn, but Ali put up a fuss and eventually the mom caved. Ali wanted to be outside of the house for a reason. I’m not so sure it was to pick up a cheque and a shift at the burger barn.

@ekardh I also think she was using the paycheck/shift as a cover. Because she was going to briefly see someone (not for long because she was going to have a friend come over later that evening) we gotta remember that her brother was still at home. Her mom would have been checking to see where she was after school and Mason was still at the house to verify she wasn’t home. So she needed an excuse to explain why she wasn’t there. And if her hang out with said person ran long, she could say she “picked up a shift” or something.

This shift thing got me thinking…had she ever asked to randomly pick up a shift last minute before? If this is a new behavior, I think that further leads credence to the notion that she wasn’t actually going to pick up a shift.

I’ve worked at a few restaurants before, and you usually get called in rather than going in yourself and asking if there’s something available. Especially if it was a weekday or it happened to be a not so busy time/season.

That also stood out to me. It’s just strange, but maybe that’s just me.

Back in the day, I received some VERY eye-opening information from one of Ali's old school friends. Let's just say, she said that Ali wasn't the sheltered kid that her mother made her out to be. Few teenagers are, to be honest. Of course, this was second-hand information, so take it for what you will.

Unfortunately, this friend found it too uncomfortable to discuss Ali any further, and they cut off contact.

It's still my personal theory that she was using the Burger Barn as an excuse to meet up with an older man that she was involved with. It might have been his idea for them to meet up. I think that something happened that triggered the older guy to dispose of Ali, whether she was pregnant or threatening to expose him for statutory rape. I suspect it was something along those lines.

Thank you for sharing this. I agree with you and I also think there might be more to LE number she was calling from her phone as you mentioned earlier. I cannot imagine a scenario for her disappearance where there was NOT someone else involved.

I was thinking along these exact same lines. Reminds me of Tabitha Tuders. An old friend of hers has been very vocal in saying that Tabitha hung out with an older, older male crowd. Whereas her mom paints her as someone different.

Respectfully, I think parents are often unreliable narrators. Not intentionally, there’s just an implicit bias because of the love they have for their children.
