Ok, did anyone follow Mari's case? This is so freakily similar with the silence. NO ONE will say exactly what is going on. I have spoken with the twin and other people searching but no one seems to know (or will tell) what exactly we are looking for. I honestly have no idea if this is murder/suicide (sorry), kidnapping or elopement (unlikely but possible). I have no idea if the one media report of her phone turning on once or twice a day and pinging at the lake is accurate...which makes no sense unless they are staying with someone nearby. It has been TOO COLD to hide in the woods for a whole week. Or maybe her phone was tossed and picked up, I don't know. All these scenarios require different methods to search and different locations...for example, the rail station is even within walking distance. The place has been saturated with searchers, but only at the lake itself and in that small forest near the parking lot. The sister had no clue when I asked about the trails, for which White Rock is famous. Sooooo, I have been searching daily and Mr. Mistivon has been searching nightly....mainly (sorry again) looking for not living people because again, no sense to hide in the woods. I have no idea if we are on the right track or if these people are long gone....no one does, I guess, IDK. Very, very confusing for people trying to help.
Anyway, today gonna focus on a bit further away. There are some very dense areas near the trails and especially White Rock creek. Excellent places to put something you don't want found. A bit further away, maybe across Northwest Highway and over off of Trammel, so not underneath LE.
Squid, any other thoughts on where would be good to look?

Yes, was just coming to post that its pretty obvious what LE believes, which is why we continue searching here :(

Hi Mistivon! Are you a member of the Lakewood, Dallas FB page? The neighbors have been posting continuously about this story. It has been posted about on ND as well.

I'm not sure they are looking for body/bodies at White Rock. How long does it take for a body to sink after entering the water? The high that day was in the upper 70s and it was clear. Lots of people, including patrol cops on bikes, would have been out on the trail starting at 6am. The lake is not that wide across and any large objects floating would have been seen from the trail which surrounds the lake. We have not had a lot of rain recently so there would not have been much movement of water.

As mentioned there is supposed to be rain starting at midnight tonight through Monday 50% to 90% chance . Once the water level increases at the lake it washes through the spillway into White Rock Creek. My guess would be they wanted to search the lake for evidence prior to the rainfall.

The car was spotted on an inlet on the west side of the lake. The earlier searches at the lake looked to be around the area south of where the car was spotted where there is heavier tree coverage....from TP Hill to the Spillway. There really isn't anywhere else to hide on that side of the lake. WG/AH would have had to have traveled at least 2 miles south or at least 3 miles north to get away from that open, west side of the lake. I don't understand what the point is of driving from Grand Prairie to a popular Dallas city lake, to park your car in a very open, visible area and have to make your way out that will take at least 2 - 3 miles.

I am going back to that car. It was absolutely covered in something that looked like mud or something similar. I think if anything happened to WG it happened elsewhere and AH came to White Rock Lake to dump the car. There are tons of rental bikes and scooters at the lake. I guess he could have made off on one of those...some thugs even bust off the lock devices and are able to use them with no credit card/electronics. Also easy to just walk away if you are prepared to walk some distance to public transit or a friends place. Or like you said, Mistivon, maybe they are hiding out for some reason.

Search Expands for Missing Grand Prairie Couple

[...]

"We're utilizing our sonar equipment to just skim the lake, look for anything that may stand out for any evidence," said Mark Beseda, spokesperson for the Grand Prairie Police Department.

An exhaustive search by boat, by foot and on horseback entered its fourth day on Saturday.

"The facts don't add up, finding the car out here abandoned it just doesn't add up, so that's why we're putting a lot of resources into this," Beseda said.

[...]

Grand Prairie police said Hernandez is wanted for allegedly assaulting Garcia late last month.

Her family told NBC 5 last week that Hernandez had sought help for anger management.

Saturday's search turned up no new clues in the case, but Grand Prairie police said they'd work tirelessly to bring answers to a family who desperately needs them.

Yes, it just doesn't make sense. I am a member of the FB page but havent checked it lately. I am posting on ND...maybe we are close neighbors :)
I agree with your train of thought as far as just dumping the car. Which, unfortunately, means she could literally be anywhere if he indeed harmed her.
But, coming back to that phone ping...is her phone STILL pinging here or is that misreporting? They pinged the phone but from what I'm understanding, they didn't locate it....just the car.
So where is the phone?

Her sister just posted that CPS took custody of the kids.
Is that normal if they were with family???

Probably a formality. The kids probably are or will still be placed with family, but with both parents missing someone has to be formally appointed a guardian. So CPS would need to be involved to make that happen.

If you look at Mr.Hernandez' photos on FB, he clearly looks like he's holding back a lot -I mean A LOT- of anger; you can see it in his face (it's very, very obvious).

He texted a "goodbye" note to his family the same morning she went missing. I'm afraid this is going to end up to be a murder suicide. Praying for their families.Grand Prairie mom goes missing with boyfriend wanted on domestic assault charge | Missing Person | Dallas News

I was doing a search last week for a specific murder/suicide and came across a TX news page called “murder-suicides”...a compilation of these cases in TX over past two years or so...there have been a lot, enough to make a separate heading. Very strange. :(

I'm not sure they are looking for body/bodies at White Rock. How long does it take for a body to sink after entering the water? .

A cadaver in the water starts to sink as soon as the air in its lungs is replaced with water. Once submerged, the body stays underwater until the bacteria in the gut and chest cavity produce enough gas—methane, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon dioxide—to float it to the surface like a balloon. (The buildup of methane, hydrogen sulfide, and other gases can take days or weeks, depending on a number of factors, temperature of the water being a primary one). Bodies that are dead before they reach the water could have different floating patterns A corpse that falls in face-first might remain on the surface since there would be no way for the air inside the lungs to escape. (A faceup corpse would fill with water and sink in the normal fashion.)

I've been following this as I used to live not far from where the car was found. I'm also a member of that Lakewood page and there hasn't been said anything today or much yesterday. I've read conflicting things about the car being mud splattered or not. And, I don't understand at all about the phone pinging. Hopefully something new will be said today. It's just so sad.

"We can confirm that the two children are under state care since Friday for security reasons," Marissa Gonzales, a spokesperson for the Department of Child Protective Services (CPS), wrote in an e-mail.

"In each case, when a child is assigned to state care by a judge, (CPS) prefers that he or she be placed with family members, as long as we know for certain that they will be safe there," Gonzales explained. "Ultimately, the decision of where the child will be located is of the judge."

The Grand Prairie officers - who coordinate their actions with the Dallas police - have toured the area with helicopters and drones, and patrolled the area on horseback and on foot. They have even searched the lake with boats, divers and radar equipment, said Mark Besada, spokesman for the Grand Prairie police department, by email. So far they have not found anything

Family Of Grand Prairie Missing Mother Remain Hopeful

‘The missing woman’s sister said detectives are asking the family to stay at home and to stop searching.

The family of 26-year-old Weltzin Garcia said it’s a seed of hope.’

So.....idek what to make of that. Is it common to ask the family to stop searching? I don’t think I’ve ever heard LE do that before. I hope and pray it’s because they’re (LE) getting ready to find her.

When you say getting ready to find her, do you mean her body? Or both of theirs? Or alive somewhere possibly near where her phone had pinged? I have an incredibly bad feeling about this.
