GUILTY TX - Alijah Mullis, 3 mos, stomped to death, Galveston, 29 Jan 2008

yeah but where was he taking the baby that early in the morning? No mention of day care or a baby sitter! Was he just taking the boy "for a ride"? Why?
And why so early in the morning? and she let him take the boy.

Some part of the story is missing here.
Maybe she had to go to work so he was taking the baby for awhile, with him to get the car fixed. You are right, though, there are so many pieces of this story we don't have yet.

I'm wondering if the mom was breastfeeding and that is why she was getting worried so soon. After all, if she breast fed she would have been getting uncomfortable and she would realize that the baby was over due for feeding. Maybe they argued about him not getting enough time with the baby. When my kids were breast feeding I spent more time one on one with them because they were always attatched. Maybe after she fed the baby that morning he asked her if he could spend some alone time with the baby. If this guy was prone to violence he may have even seen the baby as competition and decided to kill him. :furious:

I remember those b.f. days! You're right, she would have been more anxious if she felt the need to nurse.

I wonder if something happened to the baby before the father left with it and the mother thought he was taking it to the hospital. This just makes me so sad and so ill.

This is my take as well. A neighbor who knows the couple and the child indicated that he would work on his car and his child would be in the car seat in the driveway...interesting...a little odd perhaps, but I suppose it was an easy way to keep an eye on him.

Now there are lots of reasons for lawyering up...the crush of the press has to be incredible. The flip side is if she was calling hospitals because that is where the dad was supposed to take him because the baby was injured, then she might as well spit it out now and save herself the DP. I can see someone as young as the dad throwing the car seat with the dead baby in it if the child died as a result of the head injury out of panic.

Gosh, I hope she is getting "lawyered up" as a panic response due to that other couple (Baby Riley's parents) both being charged in her death, rather than because she had something to do with it! By the earlier reports about him being healthy, well cared for, in clean diaper and expensive car seat I really thought he at least had a loving, caring mom. :(

According to this article, the couple and baby moved in with this man after the baby was born. Is it possible since dad or the car have not been spotted, that there is more to the mom and the housemate than meets the eye????? Maybe something happened to dad as well when he and mom were arguing and maybe someone"housemate" tried to come to the rescue........

Possible??? The mom and housemate did something with the dad and baby???

I have no clue if this is possible? But maybe another theory since dad and car have not been spotted.......???????

A man wanted for questioning by police in the death lived in a trailer in Alvin with the woman who says she is the child's mother, a housemate said today.
Travis Mullis, 21, left the trailer about two hours and 30 minutes before the baby's body was found, Darrell Nichols said.
Nichols — interviewed at the trailer he shares with Mullis and the woman, whose identity has not been released by police— said the couple moved in with him shortly after the 3-month-old child was born.

I also read an earlier story quoting a neighbor as saying the "couple" that the young family moved in with left the trailer because of all of the reporters....I read that to mean that there were 2 housemates Mom, dad and baby lived with.

I believe the father has committed suicide, that's why they haven't found him yet. I think mom thinks the same thing, that's why she got an attorney because she doesn't want to be the one to hang. She made fatal mistake by phoning hospitals, instead of LE first, it shows she knew something was wrong with baby when he left that house. IMO

:( Just unimaginable! The poor couple who found that precious baby boy...they will never be the same.

There are so many people who would take a child in their home and love it so much...why do others just throw them away like trash?!

Because they are not worthy to be amongst decent society. :furious: :furious: :furious:

Nancy Grace has this on now...a caller just asked about the "injury" on the baby's right eye (appears in the picture). I disagree that there was an injury and the coroner could probably speak more to that. It looked to me like a healthy, fat, beautiful boy. With one eye that was perhaps squinched up more from sleeping or had been laying on that side or something like that.

Also, apparently there is a felony warrant out for the father for "enticing a child" (not related to this baby.) :sigh:

A caller just asked if they really thought ONE PERSON could have thrown the carseat (with baby) out the window while the car was moving. (GOOD QUESTION! Really! Carseats aren't small enough to go out a window, let alone a person "tossing" one out with one hand while driving with the other doesn't make sense.

The last comment I heard was someone in LE from Texas mentioning that the mother is under suspicion because she didn't tell police until "later" that the baby's father might have died his hair blonde. (He said, "unless she is hiding something, why wouldn't she have stated this in the beginning?")

Well, I think, as a young mother (probably not a LE officer, trained to look for details such as this) she might have, in her panic, described her baby's father as she knows him and then later remembered "Oh my gosh, his hair was white blonde when I last saw him" or "Under his baseball cap his hair looked really light" or "He told me he was bleaching his hair". I don't necessarily think this was an attempt to abet his flight as much as a distraught young woman trying to come to grips with the most unimaginable thing any mother could have to face...the man she entrusted with her most precious angel might have murdered that child!

Why would the car have to be moving? People park on Cherry Hill.

Did I miss something?

This whole thing with the mother just seems so bizarre to me. Something is off.. beautiful little baby boy everytime I look at his picture I can't get over how adorable he is & the thought of someone hurting this little guy just makes me sick and it infuriates me! God I would of taken him in a heartbeat and gave him all the hugs, kisses, love & snuggles in the world.

According to published reports, Mullis is accused of taking an 8-year-old girl who lived near him to a school or park area at night and attempting to pull down her pants, Brazoria County District Attorney Jeri Yenne said.

“The child became upset and the act stopped there,” Yenne said. Police were still searching Thursday evening for Mullis, also known as T.J. He remains a person of interest in the death of the 3-month-old, Treviño said.

Here is her pregnancy website, the photos must have been getting some rude comments before because she is in her bra and you can't even see her belly and she says it is the only pregnancy photo she had.

Those pictures of the baby just break my heart. It saddens and angers me that someone could hurt him. This just really breaks my heart.

Sounds like the guy was under some pressure....and the position I am going to take on the mom is that she has been robbed of her newborn and we still don't know the circumstances. I think LE has a handle on what is going of with the exception of thinking that she is being deceptive. If he recently dyed his hair, who thinks of that stuff when in panic mode? Perhaps the skepticism of LE caused her to get her attorney. I think that Mullis is now desperate and wanted for potentially two stomach churning crimes-if he is still alive, he is going to be dangerous.
