Reannan...I think many of them are "nutters" to begin with.

Reannan, the implications of today's technology have to be huge. They hide behind the anonimity of a electronic device, never having to confront someone face to face, and yet scream to high h*ll when they find out their anonimity isn't protected nor legal. They publish everything, even their most personal thoughts and then cry foul when it backfires. Sheesh. Too much allowed to young brains not able to think of the consequences, IMO. Does anyone foresee a point in time when a case comes up that is so horrific it shuts Myspace down? It makes me wonder.

At the below link is info on the arrest and travels the past couple of days. The "church" stops is weird, IMO.:

Police held a news conference Friday night and said Mullis confessed to killing the baby after his arrest.

"Travis Mullis stated that he intentionally killed 3-month-old Elijah Mullis in Galveston on Jan. 29, 2008," said Lt. Jorge Trevino with the Galveston Police Department.

Bond was set at $1 million on the capital murder charge.

Galveston police will travel to Philadelphia for Mullis' extradition hearing.

Mullis had family in Maryland and traveled to Philadelphia from there, stopping at churches along the way, officials said.

As she slept?   I wonder how long ago this was. It says sometime in January but that could be really recent...as in days before he went missing.

It appears you are correct in your thinking. From the below link:

Officials said Mullis might have tried to have a sexual encounter with an 8-year-old girl the same day the baby was found.

I am so surprised he turned himself in. That is very uncommon, isn't it? So, he was living with the girl he tried to rape? I wonder if the parents confronted him? He was still living there, wasn't he? I have to go back and read. If it was the same day he killed his son, then they might have found out after he was gone. Why kill the baby? I keep going back to why the mother was calling hospitals so soon after he left. Honestly, that would be the last thing I would do when my hubby was gone only a few hours. If he left at 5, and the baby was found at 9, then when did she begin calling?:waitasec:

ETA:
Officials said Mullis might have tried to have a sexual encounter with an 8-year-old girl the same day the baby was found.

According to the Brazoria County District Attorney's Office, the 8-year-old who Mullis lived with claimed that while everyone in the house was asleep, Mullis took her to a school playground in an attempt to commit a sexual assault.

Investigators said he asked the girl to take off her pants and then tried to remove them himself.

"At that point, she was very firm and said, 'No. Take me back home,' or something along that line. And everything stopped," said Chief Mike Merkel with the Alvin Police Department.

So, he would have molested her sometime the night of Jan 28 or morning of Jan 29th. Either way it was a school night for this young girl. He probably molested her between 11-5am. Did Caren know he was gone? Did she confront him? They fought that night, I wonder what time that was? Maybe they fought about sex. She may not have been giving him any and he resented the baby. Did that set him off to molest the girl?

He stomped little mans head?! Ooooh how I would love to stomp his head right now. :furious:

I don't think that TJ was living in the trailer with mom and baby at the time that this all occurred. It sound more like he was staying somewhere else and the 8 year old (with a GREAT SENSE OF SELF) was able to thwart her own rape. I do think that this had something to do with sex and as SCM might say, it was a situational thing because he had the access and he was probably high. He is a crafty guy if he scammed churches to fund his run from the law from Texas to philly.

He killed his son because he was in his way, and I am hoping that the mother's statements being inconsistent have more to do with her guilt in giving her son over to this 🤬🤬🤬 at that hour of the morning in what she probably hoped was a chance at some time to herself. Instead she handed her pumpkin over to someone who intended to end his sweet little life.

Give me 5 minutes with him. He is going to start slinging some mud I suspect now, so I would take statements from him with a grain of salt, IMO....of course I could be so wrong, but I think mom was breastfeeding and cared for her son. I think it sunk in after a while that it made no sense for TJ to take the baby with no provisions and to be gone that long, so that something very bad had happened.:furious:

The little girl who he tried to molest is lucky to be alive. Where did he kill his son??? In the car, or along the side of the road???:furious: :furious:

This man needs to fry (too bad it can't be in the electric chair like the old days). I am glad he will be tried in Texas. They like to administer the DP and have the record to prove it.

I think from what I am gathering now is that he tried to molest the 8yo girl and he let her go home (Thank God!). Then he realized she would tell. He freaked. I still can't figure out where the mother comes into this tho.

Did she know he had taken the little girl to the park? Has she been trying to cover the fact she knew? While there seems to be reason to suspect the mother of something here, I can't figure out what it is exactly. Knowing he killed her baby, she was still protecting him by not giving up that he dyed his hair. She then lawyered up. What is her role here?

I can't figure it out either SS but I know she is guilty of something because she is not cooperating with the police anymore. :(

Florence also said the child appeared to have been dead for no more than a few hours when he was found about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Although she said investigators had “no other suspects” Friday, Almendarez said detectives still wanted to talk to Mullis’ wife, the baby’s mother.

“The mother has retained (legal) counsel and has not talked to us,” she said.

The details of how he killed that sweet baby just literally made me physically ill.

That young man was a walking inferno of rage--he was fired from several jobs for it. He was literally a ticking time bomb.

They need to find out where the murder took place.

If he killed the baby at the home with the mother present and she allowed him to go dump the child afterward without calling authorities...does that make her an accessory after the fact? Could she have been with him at the time he dumped the body?

If she knew of the baby's death...she should be given a death sentence along with him. This is Texas...and we will juice them both!

IMO, I think the baby's death took place with the mother present, then he took baby to dispose of body. She probably was trying to cover her own A, when she started making phone calls to hospital. Which was a stupid. if your baby is missing you phone the police, if your baby is hurt you phone the hospitals. I hope he gets DP, if they find out she was involved, she deserves the same sentence. Anytime a child dies is tragic, but the way this baby died was so disturbing to me. It's all I've been able to think about.

I just don't know what to make of this mother! How horrible and tragic for her, if she isn't involved. I can't imagine. I look at his pictures, and just die inside - how must she feel? I don't understand where she gets the energy to be on the computer. She has changed the sexy pictures of herself that were on the myYearbook page for herself, to a cute picture of little Alijah. It just breaks my heart!!!

I pray this mother was not involved, I am truly hoping that her behavior is due to her youth. Her actions have made me suspicious. Perhaps she went into shock when she realized how badly the baby was injured. I lost a child in 1979, due to a terrible accident. I was not able to function normally for months afterward. I can't imagine what I would have been like had my child been maliciously murdered. Grant you not everybody reacts in the same way, but her behavior has been just so strange.
