In spite of the title of this news article, there is no mention of any remorse ?? do they mean he's showing remorse simply because he waived his right to an extradition hearing? :waitasec:

Police: Mullis showing remorse

Police said Mullis drove a Hyundai Accent more than 1,550 miles — stopping along the way to talk with friends near Baltimore — before walking into a Philadelphia police station Friday and admitting that he killed his son "by stomping on Alijah Mullis' head with his foot three to four times until he felt the skull collapsing."

He is only feeling remorse at being in jail, imo. He has no real remorse for what he did to the child only for himself.

I agree SS, he is "nervous" and "crying" as he knows once he gets into prison with the big boy's he's gonna have his life on the line. Pure sociopathic behavior.

I have absolutely no pity for this evil despicable 🤬🤬🤬. IMO, his remorse is for himself.

I lurked on this thread since it started. I have been staying away from the "serious" threads ever since Chester Stiles-and now I remember why....
This tragedy was probably going to happen no matter where they were-I'm just glad (i know, it sounds awful) it happened in Texas. I was born and raised there and know they don't mess around when it comes to handing out the DP.

One of the sadder comments (other than the actual phrasing of the confession) was from a former neighbor, who said that when the young man moved away, "things got quiet again." Apparently, he has been a problem for all of his life. He has been off medication for some time now and was always--obviously--a severely disturbed individual.

Others described him as a ticking time bomb.

I truly believe that while involuntary incarceration in mental hospitals was perhaps cruel to some, it saved many lives and is the reason now that we no longer allow it, that so many people are criminally insane and roam at free will among us.

Why do we have to wait until someone--a sweet, innocent baby--dies?

This is quite understandable-who can defend these precious lives if they are not safe with their own parents? Why are people so careless about their children?

I was speaking with my wise mother about these cases, and my Mom said something I thought was important. I was ranting about children not being valued, and she pointed out that people do not feel valued themselves these days. People do not feel valued-they feel disenfranchised and that will color how they will treat their children.
With all due respect, I don't tend to blame society when people abuse their children. Both my parents were poor all their lives until they were old, and they had six children without abusing us that way. Even most outsiders in society still love their own children.

This goes way beyond low self-esteem. On the contrary - he was arrogant enough to believe he was God and could decide the fate of an innocent baby who couldn't fight back. That's putting himself on a pedestal, because he is vastly more important than some little child, right? :furious: :furious: :furious:

This guy was a monster with no human emotions, and if he is crying, those are crocodile tears about getting caught.

I agree that this act was monsterous, and i apologize if it seemed i was blaming society. That is not what i meant-I need to unravel how it seems to be happening so frequently-if you do not value yourself, among other things, how can you value something precious like a child who is to some extent an extension of yourself...if you are disenfranchised, how do you bond with other human beings? This is not the 70-90% of average Joe's that I am speaking about. How do we derail the act of disposing/murdering/torturing infants and children as much as we can?

I don't believe he's truly sorry, either.

Filly, I couldn't get the link to work. :(

So the reason he turned himself in was because he stopped taking his meds? I guess I don't get it.

Razzafrazzum, dang link. I'm sorry SS. No, that's not why he turned himself in. For some reason he told a Judge that here. I'll go back and try to get ya the link. He was on the meds for a few years. Sorry for the confusion.

When a Philadelphia judge asked Mullis about his mental health, he replied he had been on medication UNTIL three years ago. He didn't specify the illness or the type of medication.

Maybe he realized that there is no medication for sociopaths and he stopped taking whatever they had him on!!!!

On the serious side, I hope the monster doesn't try to use not being on his meds as an excuse for murdering that beautiful baby boy. He made a choice not to take his meds...he is responsible for his own behavior. I hope he gets the DP.

No one but a monster would be capable of doing something like that. Now I want to know just where the mother of this beautiful baby boy fits into all of this. I read what she said a the baby's service but I'm not lending any credit to that yet. Why did he have that baby and why wasn't she worried about him. Didn't he have the baby for a day or so? You can bet that when he murdered the baby it wasn't the first time that he was abusive to him.

LE aren't still clear as to why he stopped in Philly to turn himself in. Ready? He told a Judge here in Philly he was on medication, but had stopped taking it because he couldn't afford it.http://www.kxan.com/Global/story.asp?S=7821002&nav=menu73_2

Wow, and UTMB offers prescription assistance at a low price or even free to qualified individuals and it is within 2 minutes of where he left the baby. Next excuse.
