Family members are asking the public for help in finding a woman who has been missing near Dallas since Jan. 21.

Amy Elizabeth Tures, 43, recently moved to the area and her family has not heard from her for nine days, her brothers John and Daniel Tures said.

“We have every detail about her from January 21, 2019, then nothing,” John Tures said in an email. “She’s not from the area, and could be in trouble. The police have been great and helpful, but now the trail has gone cold.”

Her other brother, Daniel Tures, said Amy Tures is off her medication and “possibly in a very serious or dangerous situation.”

Daniel Tures said the last they heard from Amy Tures was that her car had overheated on the way to Dallas and she was seeing a mechanic in Garland.

She drove away from the mechanic before the repairs were done, Daniel Tures said. They tracked her to some motels and ATMs in Garland before the trail stopped.

“We don’t know where she is now and she’s stopped using her phone or it’s out of juice,” Daniel Tures said.

Tures has black hair with a little gray in it and drives a White Chevy Tahoe with the license plate 5D60C6 registered to Davidson County, Tennessee. The Tahoe has a few stickers on the back, according to her brother.

Tures’ case has been filed with the National Missing Person’s Bureau.

If anyone sees Tures or has information about where she is, they can contact Dallas or Garland police.

This woman has been missing for 9 days in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Have you seen her?

Doesn't sound good, it's been 10 days since Amy went missing.

Questions that I have

1. Why would Amy decide to move to Dallas/Garland from Davidson County, TN? According to Google Maps, the distance is well over 600 miles. Looks like she has no family in Texas.
2. Her brother, Daniel, said that Amy is "off her medication". What is that medication for and how does her family know that she is not taking it? Is that why she decided to move away from her family, because they were asking her to take the medication?
3. What does Amy do for a living? Does she receive any assistance? If so, what happened with that when she moved to TX from TN?
4. Does she live in Dallas or Garland?
5. Why would she drive away from the mechanic without making the repairs to her car if it is overheating?
6. Her brother said that she was tracked using ATM and staying in some motels in Garland. Why is she staying in there? Why couldn't she go to her home? I assume that she had a place to stay at when she moved from TN, right?

I sent an email to Detective Chaney regarding the UID I linked to above. I directed him here to get the information on Ms. Tures but praying she's found safe instead.

I live in the area where she disappeared. Heard about this in a post to our neighborhood group. According to them the car was found.

Her brother's (Stephen Tures) FB post about the disappearance states the following: Update #2 - Amy's car was located impounded but no sign of Amy. It was towed days ago from the area where Amy was last seen.

Also per Stephen's post: .She was traveling alone from Nashville to Dallas to see a friend, but never met up with friend due to car troubles.

North Texas Family Searching For Missing Woman

Her brother, Daniel Tures, believes Amy Tures is off her bi-polar medication and could be disoriented.

He says the last the family heard from Amy, was that she was having car problems on the way to Dallas and taking her SUV to a mechanic in Garland.

Police found the White Tahoe abandoned on the Garland/ Dallas border, but say there was no sign of Amy.

Did they or are they searching the area where her car was found? Is this rural?

The area is urban. Garland Road is commercially zoned surrounded by residential neighborhoods. From Dallas City Hall:
Garland Road is one of the key gateways to the City of Dallas from the northeast. Garland Rd (SH 78) connects East Dallas to the Dallas Central Business District (CBD), the corridor links many of the most desirable and beautiful neighborhoods in the City and serves at the primary gateway to White Rock Lake.

This is a map of Garland Road in Dallas.

The road continues into Garland but name changes to Garland Ave. This mapquest link shows Garland Road in Dallas and if you follow it NE for 5.5 miles or so it shows many of the businesses as well as where the road transitions https://www.mapquest.com/us/tx/dallas/75218/tx-highway-78-and-garland-rd-32.812880,-96.726408

The locations of her last sighting, car towing and motel have not been released yet so unable to pinpoint those details on the map at this time.

Thanks @squid ! Is the park behind which the UID (linked above) was found anywhere near Garland Rd?

UID was found "in a wooded area behind the park at 2400 Van Cleave Drive."

That location is in South Dallas about 12 miles away. Her brother Stephen discounted any connection on the FB post stating:

We're near certain this is not Amy due to different height, age (though that's fuzzy sometimes) and Amy definitely doesn't have any tattoos. I just updated the original post with that info so that others can see more details about Amy and also so they can see that this almost certainly isn't her.

Oh that's good to hear! Thanks squid, again.

I wonder where she was these ~ 3 weeks? I’m elated she’s found!

She went missing Jan 21 and was found Jan 30 so it was only 9 days. It has not been released where she was.
