I REALLY hope this is her. Imo, there’s no way Andreen is alive, so this would just help push the case further. The idea of Andre being released, even with a GPS monitor still really bothers me. I feel I will not rest til this strong beautiful woman gets the justice she deserves. Sending love to her family as they anxiously await the news.

Sheriff is 'cautiously optimistic' that burned body is that of Andreen McDonald | KTSA

Sheriff Is ‘Cautiously Optimistic’ That Burned Body Is That Of Andreen McDonald
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Charred remains found in west Bexar County could be those of Andreen McDonald who’s been missing for more than a month.

A hitchhiker made the grisly discovery around 3 pm Thursday off of Highway 211 between Bandera Road and Culebra Road, and Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar is “cautiously optimistic” that the burned body is that of the missing mom.

“We’ve been working like crazy to get some closure for Andreen’s family,” the sheriff told reporters at the scene.

Investigators, aided by volunteer search parties, have been searching for McDonald since she was reported missing March 1.

“I will tell you exactly like it is. We’re hoping that this is her,” said Salazar.

Making a positive identification will be no easy task. At this point, they can’t even determine whether the burned skeletal remains are those of a man or woman.

McDonald’s husband, Air Force Major Andre McDonald, is out on bond on a charge of tampering with evidence in his wife’s disappearance.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area off of 211 between Culebra and Bandera to contact them.

Speculation swirls after discovery of human remains in far West Bexar County
During a Friday morning press conference, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said he hoped the medical examiner's office would be able to shed some light by tonight on the remains found Thursday in West Bexar County.

[...]

“I think this is her,” said MP, one of the volunteer organizers of several community searches for Andreen McDonald. “This is going to be good closure for the family. The circumstances I don’t like. I mean, to find a burned body, who does that? It’s just beyond inhumane.”

Missing Texas Woman Andreen McDonald's Daughter Saw ‘Daddy Hurt Mommy’: Report

The young daughter of missing Texas woman Andreen McDonald reportedly told a family friend she had seen “Daddy hurt Mommy” as police continue to search for the young mother's body. The San Antonio Express-News reports that Andreen's sister, Cindy Ann Johnson, said Andreen's 7-year-old daughter, who police have described as autistic and mostly nonverbal, saw an altercation between her mother and father, 40-year-old Air Force Major Andre McDonald. Andre McDonald has been named as a suspect in the case and faces evidence tampering charges for allegedly destroying receipts for a shovel and ax after his wife disappeared.

“She said, ‘Daddy hurt Mommy and Mommy was going like this,’” Johnson said, reportedly mimicking breathing difficulties. The business manager reportedly recorded the conversation and gave the recording to investigators. The newspaper also reports that a sheriff’s deputy came to Andreen's mother's home to interview the child, who was reportedly seen “jumping around and laughing” while watching cartoons. “She doesn’t really know what is happening,” said Hyacinth Smith, who is taking care of her granddaughter after her daughter's disappearance. On Monday, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar told reporters that it was “pretty evident” that Andreen's daughter saw something. “She saw what happened to her mom, and that’s the most heartbreaking part of this case,” he said.

@PommyMommy, what’s the exact mileage on this? Tia.

I am also wondering if these remains are partial.

If this is her, he knows it, and he is probably packing his bags and trying to get his monitor off and run fast and far. I sure hope he has no access to firearms and they are keeping a close eye on him.

I can't give you an exact without knowing the route that was taken (assuming this is her), but I'd say between 30-37 miles from the residence to disposal site. MOO

Wow. I’ve been thinking of Andreen all day. She needs to be found ASAP. This just means that another unlucky woman found herself caught up with another abusive and controlling manipulater. Heartbreaking. Always hoping for more answers..

Somebody 7 to 9 inches shorter. :(

"Bexar County sheriff Javier Salazar said Friday night this body found belonged to a woman who stood roughly 5’2″ to 5’4″ tall. The race and build of the decedent has not been determined due to the seriousness of the burns.

Salazar said it was apparent fairly early on that this body was not that of McDonald because she stands 5’11” tall.

Investigators believe an intense and large fire was used to burn the body — possibly something large enough to catch someone’s attention."
