I am so happy that Andreen has been found and identified and that justice is coming. This article has a really good timeline and confirms that her remains had been burned.
Affidavit reveals more into Andreen McDonald murder case
Thank you, Eli9. Good case summary, awful as it is to read. :(

This article by the same news outlet describes how the remains were found a little differently.

Husband charged with murder after authorities find remains of missing Andreen McDonald
According to McDonald's arrest warrant affidavit, investigators noticed the human remains appeared to have been covered with wood and bones from a nearby deceased cow and set on fire.

This is interesting too. I note they mention "and anyone else who may be involved" brought to justice. I guess that could be just a standard statement heard in most cases.

The most heartbreaking part is it has always seemed this child saw what happened. That alone says what a monster he is if true and it seems they believe it to be.

There are things I wonder about. Apparently he knew the land owner. Apparently the land owner called for someone to clean up dead cows? There were hints the past week or two about the volunteer group finding bones and another body found, etc. I wonder if these news events and hints that at some point he got worried and went to the site he placed her at and he was being tracked after all...? I don't know, there seems to be something more to this but maybe that is just my way of thinking.

It also seems if she was buried beneath a cow skeleton, etc. that her bones would not bleach by the sun. They were onto him pretty fast in the beginning and she was discovered missing pretty fast, I wonder if he did not get to finish and went back to do so...? It is interesting in the one article that there is one search warrant (a later one) with no date on it...

Just thoughts. Even on an ankle monitor, he could have had someone go back there for him or just thought he could claim to be visiting a friend if he knew the land owner and had his monitor on...

I am happy she was found, sad it means there is no hope and enraged that he likely did it all in front of his daughter.

He had to have known that LE would be coming for him once they announced the area of discovery. It was just a matter of time and he knew it. IMO
I'm glad he had under 4 months of freedom and is back behind bars now. Andreen was a beautiful, strong, inspirational woman. May she rest in peace and may her killer spend the rest of his life behind bars.

I'm baffled at what his plan long term plan was? He told the cop she was at the hospital. He knew she wasn't and that the cop or someone would find that out quickly. And then he runs out to buy a gun? What the heck for? At that time, he had to know the cops were watching him.

Yes, standard language. They don't want to give his defense reason to claim that detectives had tunnel vision and did not investigate all angles including others who may have been involved. Unfortunately, when they say this, many interpret it as, "There's someone else involved!" Lol :p It is usually not the case.

IMO, it's highly unlikely that her remains were moved. They were found within the original search area and it was reported that it appeared they had been there for months. MOO

It will be interesting when we find out what type of connection he has with the land owner. As you point out it is interesting that while out looking for dead cow bones this friend stumbled on the remains of Andreen. Perhaps some of the private searchers were able to reach out to the land owner requesting further searches of his property.

Lol, I am guilty of that myself--when they say more people may be involved, etc., I can think that. I am learning though it is quite a common statement ;)

I also do not feel her remains were moved, but he was confronted by friends, her mom and LE quite quickly, probably far quicker than he expected. The article from the other day too, about bones bleaching by the sun makes me wonder. I don't think so much she was moved as maybe she was further covered whether early on or recently... Or not at all even lol.

Whatever the case, I was so tickled to see he was arrested and is back in jail.

I think he was confronted way quicker than he possibly expected. I think the hospital remark was possibly due to he came home and found friends, etc. in the home and made an excuse for what he worried they may have noticed (bedroom carpet cleaned, blood, etc.).

The gun and ammo yeah, I don't get that either. To think this man was released on bond, what WAS his plan for that...?

I agree. Someone said the other day too in an article that they thought this may not be her because the bones were too bleached for the length of time although an expert also said the opposite. We can assume him on hearing the news bones were found in such an area had to know himself and have been sweating bullets so to speak. Maybe until they could be sure they wanted him thinking they had no idea... I wonder too if the friends did not get the land owner's agreement to let them search and perhaps the land owner did as well.

I wonder how long he thought he had to clean up everything and come up with a story ?

ITA about the worst part being the child saw what happened.
On local news this morning they said the daughter acted out what happened to her mom with dolls. :(

Warrant: Daughter likely witnessed Andre McDonald burning her mom's body
[...]

A murder warrant for the arrest of Andre McDonald, the husband of Andreen McDonald, states that he had cuts and injuries on his hands the day of his March arrest and that male clothing, collected immediately after Andreen McDonald's disappearance, was discovered to have Andreen and Andre McDonald's blood on it.

The warrant also notes that the couple's young daughter, who is on the autism spectrum, had essentially reenacted how her mother's body was disposed of.

[...]

The remains were discovered July 11 by a friend of the landowner, who was asked to remove two cow skulls that were on the 50-acre property. When the man went to the area where one cow skull was known to be, he instead found a human skull and bones mixed in with the cow bones and alerted authorities.

[...]

The warrant states the child made comments about "Andre hurting mommy" and on one occasion seemingly recreated the scene of where Andreen's remains were discovered on Thursday.

According to the warrant, the young girl was playing with a doll in the backyard when she placed the doll in a circle of rocks, broke some small sticks and placed them over the toy. The girl poured something on the doll and then asked people for "the fire," the warrant states.

Later in the murder warrant, officials note that the crime scene on Specht Road bore many similarities to the scene enacted by the couple's young daughter.

[...]

The warrant states that surveillance video from Feb. 28 at a Pizza Hut in the 4200 block of Thousand Oaks Drive shows Andreen McDonald and her daughter leaving the area at around 6:20 p.m.

Court documents go on to state that neither Andreen nor Andre McDonald's phones were used after 9 p.m. and that their phones did not move from their home on Solitude Cove. In fact, Andreen McDonald's phone stopped appearing on the cellular network at 9 p.m. and has not been found since her disappearance.

[...]

The warrant also states that Andre McDonald "has not once asked about the search for his missing wife or attempted to assist in locating her."

I'm totally shocked and angered by that.

I know. I see suspected murderers free and it makes me mad. I understand they are not convicted yet but still it can be based on the evidence that exists right? This man did go purchase ammo and a gun. Was he going to run, have a shoot out with cops, head for a mall, what was he planning, etc.? States and even counties within them seem to vary so much on bond, some day I would like to learn more about that.

Then I think of the cases like Scott Peterson. How did the family. Lacy's mom and Connor's grandma even handle this man being cavalier, golfing, etc., living his life, and finding out he had a gf and was walking around free while they had no idea where their pregnant daughter was... In that case and others, I guess it is waiting until they feel they have enough to arrest but man it has to be hard waiting for that watching who you suspect go about their life...

I guess though one does get to see their behavior while free and that alone can be very condemning--it was in SP's case and in this case too or so I hope--do they move on, is there someone else they are seeing, are they helping to search, is their main concern their missing wife or the welfare of their child(ren), what are their actions... Andre MacDonald seems to have failed that test too...

But how they can decide on bond and not know if the person is a danger or not? I sure do not envy those that have to make such a decision. My hope is he was under close watch once he was released and not just by ankle bracelet.

Jmho.

Unless it is media getting something wrong, there are a few questions here, I agree...

I am actually hoping they outsmarted him, watched him, and perhaps someone flipped on him...

I love it when LE does that so long as the other person was not so involved they deserve to go away for life as well and don't... Maybe someone just started changing their opinion of what they thought he was or friends or LE talked to the right person and were allowed to look on private property...

Perhaps there was no one else involved but regardless they have him back in custody/jail and charged with her murder.

Jmo though...

Edited to change was to were and clarify.

I hate to wish ill will on people, but sweet mighty Jesus! He did all that IN FRONT of his autistic daughter?!?! That’s a vile level of insidious cruelty. Bless her heart, man. That was 50 different kinds of effed up. I really hope this man has the most difficult life for the rest of his days. If you can even call him a “man”. Disgusting. jmo

I feel like they had to be watching him closely FOR SURE. They pretty much knew he killed and burned her IMO & had a little girl essentially telling them as much, but just didn’t have her body. I bet LE was on pins & needles until she was found. I’m local and have gotten the sense that they REALLY didn’t want this guy to get away with this horrific crime. Andreen was really well liked and respected here.

I agree with everything you wrote.
Andreen was such a beautiful, accomplished and driven young woman. From the outside looking in she seemed to have it all. Such a sad ending to a life cut way to short.
