Bumping for Andreen and her daughter.

I remain relieved this man is back in jail and now charged with her murder and her remains were found.

Sad for the outcome though of course/loss of this woman.

August 29, 2019

"Air Force Reserve Major Andre Sean McDonald is demanding a speedy trial on both charges filed against him in connection with his wife’s disappearance and death, his attorney told a judge Thursday.

McDonald, 40, appeared in handcuffs and jail clothing in State District Judge Frank Castro’s courtroom for a brief hearing. Ugh. I don't like this... From the article:

McDonald’s bail on the murder charge is set at $2 million, while his bail on the tampering charge was lowered to $300,000. Convery asked that the bond previously posted by McDonald on the tampering charge be transferred to the murder charge and that a personal recognizance bond be granted on the tampering charge. Castro did not act on that request Thursday but said he will consider such a motion if filed.

Convery said he made that request because McDonald spent “an excessive amount” of his savings to post bond on the tampering charge in April and has complied with all of the conditions imposed on him.

Grrr. This man had enough free time. And never cared if his wife was found or his daughter had her mother. And allegedly moved in with his wife's cousin.

His savings? More likely "their" savings or "hers".

I had better stop there.

Jmo.

Thank you! Murder and tampering.

McDonald was indicted on Wednesday for murder in connection with the death of his wife, Andreen McDonald, back on Feb. 28, 2019. He was also indicted for tampering with evidence.

The military officer is accused of killing his wife and while the investigation was occurring, "knowingly altered, destroyed or concealed a receipt, a hammer, clothes and shoes with the intent to impair their verity, legibility and availability as evidence in the investigation," according to a news release from the Bexar County District Attorney's Office.

Husband indicted in death of businesswoman Andreen McDonald
[...]

Convery would not say when or if he would seek a bail reduction for his client. He said he still has not received discovery materials, the documents he needs from prosecutors to prepare for trial, since McDonald’s last hearing in late August.

“The state has apparently complied with the very minimal requirement with obtaining an indictment,” he said. “Now we move onto the next stage of the proceeding, which is providing the defense with information that is in the possession of the state and law enfrocement agencies.”

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released a cause or manner of death for Andreen McDonald. A person who answered the phone Wednesday afternoon said there is a hold on information in the case.

Family of Andreen McDonald, ready for trial: 'Our lives have been ruined'
[...]

Her cousin, Cheryl Spencer, said this is just one step closer to the process. "Our lives have been ruined," she said.

[...]

"Andre McDonald has denied my family of participating in social norms of burying and grieving. That's what is keeping us so low," Spencer said.

She said they're ready for the trial and will leave it up to the justice system.

"Anything he is going to tell us isn't going to bring Andreen back," she said. "But, I just think that some answers to why, and what, would give us a little bit of ease."

[...]

"In the Jamaican culture, we are kind of an eye for eye type of people," Spencer said. "If you are asking me what I feel about it, I think my answer is... I'm Jamaican."

According to online records, a trial date has been set for November 14.

'Frozen in the pain': Mourners remember San Antonio mom, business owner Andreen McDonald
[…]

Services for Andreen Nicole McDonald, 29, lasted for several hours and were closed to outsiders. The slain woman’s family and friends filed into Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Austin Highway to pay their respects.

[…]

Andreen’s mother, HMF, walked out of the funeral home during Saturday’s funeral service, leaned her head against a car in the parking lot and sobbed as her niece, DH of New York, consoled her.

[…]

“She just had a love for people. And everything that she did, she did it intentionally with love. That’s rare. … She really woke up every day, intentionally wanting to do good and be good for others.”

[…]

She noted Andreen’s mother and 8-year-old daughter are continuing to struggle in the wake of the tragedy. The child, who is autistic, did not attend Saturday’s memorial service and was being cared for elsewhere, DH said.

[…]

Andreen was stuck in a domestic violence situation with her husband for many years and was trying to get out of it, her cousin said Saturday. Law enforcement had been called to the couple’s home in the past for domestic disturbances.

“She had no help,” DH said. “Because when you’re a victim of violence, you become stuck, you become frozen in the pain and the trauma and the hurt. You become frozen because you don’t know what to do.”

[…]

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has declined to release Andreen McDonald’s cause of death. County attorneys told the Texas Attorney General’s Office in late November that releasing such information would interfere with prosecution of the case.
