His sister did him no favors.
I'm not sure if his brother did either, but at least he was friendly. Interesting personalities. They were all home schooled up until college, all six of them. His sister did him no favors.
I think the defense was in cahoots with the judge to remove certain persons known as activists or "citizen journalists" from the courtroom. I can't say I've ever seen that tactic before and it seemed a bit dodgy to me. Could a judge's behavior like that lead to a mistrial?Does anyone know what Mata may have said for the defense since he didn’t want to be sworn in? Quite the chaos - and could be totally understandable - I just don’t know what he may have offered for the defense and/or why he wouldn’t want to take the stand. Unless defense was trying to bring him in to just discredit him somehow?
I’m not saying I condone this but I would’ve LOVED to see what this judge would’ve done to Darrell Brooks!!Judge Gallagher's controversial history:

Shock belts are placed on defendants' legs. The appeals court said they are to be used only if a defendant becomes violent, not to enforce decorum.
