Fort Worth police have submitted a preliminary case to the FBI for federal investigators to review whether the shooter, no longer a Fort Worth police officer, could face civil rights violations.

Chief:no indication officers knocked on door. For welfare check he would expect a knock on door.

Wait could this protect the cop?
“At their job.”

I could see them trying to spin it that but I would think that she, being the homeowner, on her property, would trump the cop. He also had zero reasonable reason to believe he was threatened.

I wasn't aware of the case of Jerry Waller so thank you to the member who shared it. What is sad is, that case was in 2014. We are almost into 2020 and yet this case with Tay has just occurred. What is going on in Forth Worth PD? These cases would seem to illustrate there is a serious problem with training and or officer candidate selection. People will say that officers are only humans and that is true, but they are and should be held to a higher standard. The minute they are set out on the streets they become humans with the legal right to carry and use guns in the course of their duties. If they can't tell the bad guys from the good guys, especially when they are on someone's private property then what are they doing in that job?

Aaron Dean had a traffic accident on his record per Chief. Chief doesn't believe he worked for any other departments prior to starting with fwpd.

Aaron Dean is not cooperating. Per Chief.

Well damn. I thought his resigning might mean he was going to man up and fall on his sword. Guess not.

He's probably applying for a new job in a different city.

I still don't understand why he wasn't interviewed until today. I don't understand what right LEOs have that allows them to just go home and get their story straight before being interviewed. This has to stop.

So does this mean charges will be filed or does it mean they need to discuss if charges will be filed? Thanks
