I really can’t think of a more appropriate situation for the death penalty.

His guilt is backed up by DNA, audio/video, possession of physical evidence (clothing found at his nasty shed), guilty knowledge of body location, confession, child victim.

No eyewitness identification reliability issues. No racial prejudice issues. No coerced confession issues (those interviews playing along with zero were so strategically friendly I hesitate to call them interrogations).

Pretty straightforward IMO.

I haven't followed the trial daily, so I'm sure this has been asked. How long did he have Athena? I seem to remember an hour being mentioned, and that seems like such a short time to do so much damage to that poor child.
IMO.

But but but he has autism and it wasn't Tanner it was Zero!! But also there was someone else involved and he is out to harm Tanner and his family!!! Ill add his other excuses as he continues to make them up. I'm surprised the "they made me do it" excuse hasn't appeared yet.

That was my understanding as well. But wanted to ask because I definitely could have missed something. Thank you💚
Welcome to WS @georgiar. I’m sorry that we had to meet under such horrible circumstances. 😢

This girl was tortured by this monster for a hour.
And it sounds as if he held her down in the back of that truck by treading on her head 😭

the level of terror she must have experienced warrants the DP for this monster without a doubt.

ME was allowed to say she believes Athena was subjected to both pain and suffering with her manner of death (homicide)

ME is being asked about the photo of the shoe/boot tread patterns that was submitted to compare to the autopsy photos and the jury is being shown state's exhibit 206, published to the jury. The public and onlookers will not see them.

defense cross examination begins with defense asking about Athena's genitalia being underwater and her hymen being intact.

redirect. what effect would a person being SA'd while unconscious or deceased versus a living person leave on teh body.

Lack of visible trauma doesn't mean SA didn't happen.

jury will be removed while Joseph Thomas the jail administrator is examined outside their presence. He is state's next witness and must be voir dired.

Tlcya, I can't thank you enough for your coverage of this trial , you are amazing 👏

it sounds as if there are jail calls we will hear about next from this witness. Tanner and his mom Tanner and his grandma and Tanner and his girlfriend Kassi. Jury is still out of the room defense is examining the witness now. He can identify Tanner's voice on the recordings but cannot identify the other persons on the calls by voice.

It seems, IMO, the defense attorney has forgotten that her client pled guilty. She’s arguing things that have nothing to do with mitigating the scum’s sentence. IMO

Defense of course objects to any of these calls coming in because a third party company keeps the records of the calls. and because he cannot vocally identify the other participants in the calls. They object under hearsay. Judge overrules.

Defense also objects and asks for motion in limine about the other participants - if he cannot id those participants he cannot offer an opinion on who Horner was talking to.

Jury is returning now.

I want to hear these calls and get a feel for the people who where in Tanner's sphere, particularly Kassi who indulged his alleged Zero persona.
