I don't know if he has to meet in person with the court each week. If I remember correctly, he has to check in with the court each week, I don't think it has to be in person. JMO.

I believe that they allow Zoom checkins.

I think there'd be allot less of ALL of this 'worry' and grandstanding', if KA was in jail while waiting for trial. jmo
There’s the answer to the problem.

Hmm. I don't think one instance of bad judgment cancels out another's bad judgment. JMO

I'm not 100% up to speed on this case, so I'm not sure who the race baiting, baby abusing creep is.

I don't expect anyone else to be responsible for educating me, but if you have the time and inclination, maybe you could share some links. Thank you.
Dominique Alexander is the leader of an "activist" group called Next Generation Action Network. He's the kind of "activist" who would better be described as a troublemaker, even without his criminal record.

I remember looking at Karmelo Anthony's Instagram account, I don't see it now. It had pictures of several colleges that were offering him football scholarships.

I wonder if those are going to be withdrawn. KA didn't do himself any favors that day. He demonstrated a lot of pent up rage. He wanted to kill someone.
You can post whatever you want on Instagram. Who knows what he's really been offered?

These were actual letters from the colleges, letters of intent. He was talking about various recruiters coming to visit him. Different dates. It was real. I couldn't find it again. They were not "Big 10" schools, but smaller colleges.

I mean, if you are gonna fake something, make it SMU or Michigan, not a small community college in Iowa.

Sad. I can't imagine that any will want him now. The inter-workings and liability of all that is very complicated and even someone who has been exonerated only has a long shot of moving forward. He has admitted to the stabbing so his chances are pretty much zero now no matter what happens in the legal system.

Whoa. This man needs to stop talking. He is making this worse, which I didn't think was possible. Now that we know of his criminal background, and I'm sure plenty others know about it too, and hearing what he spewed about Mr Metcalf, I have zero respect for him. He really needs to step back.

Maybe he has an old warrant from his past criminal activities that is still active. That could get him out of the picture at least temporarily.

I have to wonder... if there are police report numbers for all of these “threats”, and how many there actually are, OR, if the Frisco PD is even aware of any? I haven't read that they are and there's been no info about it from them. imo

I hate how much this case has been politicized, how are so many people saying that this killing was justified?

Killing an unarmed person should never be justified. Stabbing someone in the heart for shoving you is NOT self defense. If he felt threatened he should have reported the issue to school authorities. But he choose to murder instead. IMHO He doesn’t need a 'secret location', he needs and deserves a jail cell. js/jmo

Lots of kids get letters, mail outs, invitations to come tour the facilities, attend elite camps, steady texts and emails etc. None are binding either way. LOI's usually get signed in February of senior year, or December if you're signing in the early signing period. Based on the usual standard, he should have already signed and would be committed to an offer by now. I mean, if he did, I would have thought it would have been mentioned in the media by now. It's usually a talking point in cases like these. Admittedly, I don't know exactly how the smaller colleges operate, but the bigger ones would have quietly rescinded any offers by now.

Ok , bear with me, this my not come out right but I am trying ;-)

I think people (even some on this thread) are trying to find a reason for why this happened. A "justification": 'He was being bullied by Austin, he finally retaliated'. 'He was just sitting there to get out of the rain, then he was attacked by both twin brothers.' This was racist, a hate crime'.

All false narratives as far as we know, right?
But i think people just try to find the "why". Because it makes them feel safer. It makes them worry less about their kids' safety. I mean, if this was provoked and self defense, then it cannot happen to me, am I right? If it was self defense, it will not happen to MY kid, surely?

They bypass the fact that the killer brought a KNIFE to school, then onto the school bus, into the school event. All three locations where there should never be a weapon, and kids should be safe. Them trying to find a reason, is them trying to find a reason why this would NOT happen to them or their loved ones.

And then of course you have the opportunistic people who see they can rile up unrest, promote a false narrative to benefit their own goals and beliefs, their own agenda, and those wanting to get fame and make a quick buck on this situation (spokespersons, press conference, those people..) and try to make this into what it is not for their own benefit. I do not even think those people have KA's best interest at heart, to be honest.

anyway. MOO etc etc

As someone who works in a high school and has young adult children, the prospect of something happening from a terrible split-second decision that results in injury, death, or ruining your entire life is completely terrifying to me. I don't know the reasons here, only the outcome, and it can't be fixed. You're either dead or in prison for 60 or 70 years until you die, with all the people left behind to deal with the aftermath. It's tragic.

I think you did a fine job of explaining "the why". And the opportunist angle.
