Sheriff asks for help identifying body found in Dutton Lake

The Chamber’s County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help identifying the victim, who is described as a white male weighing 150 pounds and standing 6′0′' tall believed to be between 40 and 60 years old. He has a tattoo on the back of his left shoulder that reads “Rashawn”.

Rashawn could be a son. Not a super common name, perhaps this one could be solved by someone with an Ancestry membership.

This article is behind a paywall but there is a small part visible that says the body has been identified as Daniel Howey, 38.

I think this is his profile. Interesting the comments under “in a relationship” with regard to the tattoo.

On Monday, the Chambers County Sheriff's Office charged and arrested Carroll Richardson for his alleged role in the 2020 murder of 37-year-old Daniel Howey.

Authorities also charged Shaun Sandles in Howey's murder for allegedly being Richardson's accomplice.

The sheriff's office said Richardson had been caring for Howey at the Caring Hands Group Home in Harris County. Records show that Howey received a large settlement from a personal injury case in May 2020, in which Richardson was the suspect.

Oh man, how terrible is that. I used to work in healthcare in the Houston area and there were so many sketchy "group homes." Poor Daniel. I'm glad he's finally getting justice.

''Detectives identified Richardson as a suspect in the case and information found during the investigation revealed that Richardson systematically depleted Howey’s large settlement through various transactions, including large sums of money directed to himself, his associates, and his business.''
