Smith County authorities say an elderly woman with possible dementia was last seen Tuesday afternoon.

Betty Freeman, 83, was last seen at 1 p.m., Tuesday.

Freeman was reported missing and is believed to be near the area of County Road 4118 in the Lindale area.

According to authorities, Freeman lived alone and was reported missing when he caretaker did not find her in the home.

UPDATE: According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, the missing woman has been identified as 83-year-old Betty Freeman, who was reported missing by her caretaker around 10:30 Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff's Office also told CBS19 that Freeman was found dead at around 12:30 p.m., about one mile from her home on the 1900 block of County Road 4118.
