Thank you, NewsJ, I hadn't read about the man spending 2 months in jail. That is unacceptable.
Wait a minute!! I just read the article more carefully and look what I found:
"Eleven days later, a
79-year-old Yoakum woman was raped on her way to mass. Investigator Campbell asked Miller's attorney for a DNA sample. Miller refused and Campbell traveled to Fort Bend County to use the gauze pad he said he touched Miller with, in a scent lineup.
Campbell said three bloodhounds on three separate tests matched Miller's scent to the scent on the victim's bedspread."
So, it is MASS!! This is huge. Remember my day of marathon posts concerning churches?
This article mentions nothing about a February or March rape but it does mention a 79 year old months later in Luling:

This article DOES list a 79 year old in Yoakum in February:

So this must be the woman who was going to Mass. St. Joseph's Catholic Church has 6:30 am services most days as shown on their on-line calendar. Notice, though, that the article states that she was "on her way to mass". Would you say that if she was inside her home? That strikes me as odd. This isn't adding up. If you line up all the victim reports, Yoakum has a 65 year old raped once, a 66 year old raped twice, and a 79 year old raped once. In various article the 65-66 gets confused. How many? When? Who's keeping this information so close to the vest?
"
In late January of last year, the community of Yoakum was shocked when a 65 year-old woman paid an intruder thousands so he wouldn't rape her."
We haven't seen this is print--that the money was a pay-off so he wouldn't rape her, have we?
