Sherman Police said 26 year old Blake McCoy was last seen Friday around midnight.

Police now say they now consider him to be an endangered missing person.

The car has been impounded and stripped for evidence, apparently.

Sherman police have issued an alert for an endangered missing person. Blake McCoy, 26, has been reported missing, he was last been seen around midnight on Friday. SPD Sgt. Brett Mullen said new information indicates that McCoy may be in danger. If you have any information about McCoy, please contact SPD Detective Connors at 903-892-7346 or call 911.

Initially, police said McCoy did not fit the criteria of a critical missing person. However, in an update Monday, officials said information from the investigation indicated that McCoy may be in danger and upgraded his status to endangered missing person.

I think because his car was apparently found abandoned and someone else spotted driving it. And he’s not around. So the inference would be that he’s in danger.

I hope those reading this join the find blake group. His friends and family are posting about him and he appears to be an incredible angel. It’s universal how beloved he is and how truly kind and generous and sweet they all say he is.

Also, I’m bumping to get more websleuth attention to this case. This appears to be a great young man. Works at a nursing home and is very missed by the patients, staff and family there.

He went to community college. Over and over people describe him as a beautiful soul who would give the shirt off his back to anyone. People describe being in his presence as utterly joyful.

Hmm. This made me realize he could have maybe stopped to help someone and fallen victim to someone shady.

Hopefully when they get his electronic records (cell phone, laptop etc.) it leads them to whoever was driving his vehicle and ultimately to Blake-sadly I don’t think this ends well at all.

Unless he took off on his own. We don’t know for sure that someone else was driving. It’s possible he had some sort of break.

Not that I know of. The media doesn’t seem interested. But I am. This young man seems like an absolute angel.

Police also issued an updated bulletin with additional photos of McCoy, who is described as a Black male, 5'-11" tall with black hair and brown eyes.

Blair said she lives in Sherman with her 26-year-old twin brother, Blake McCoy.

She said the last time she saw him was Friday night, at the apartment they live in on East Wells Avenue.

“We sat and talked after he got home and I said I was going to bed it was around midnight when I looked at my phone and I thought he was going to bed as well, but instead he ended up leaving and that was the last time I talked to him,” Blair said.

Blair said Blake had been texting someone that night, but she didn’t know who.

A few days ago, Blake’s family found out his car was found in south Dallas.

“It blew our minds because he doesn’t like to go to Dallas, he doesn’t even like driving on the highway in Dallas he always made me drive,” Blair said.
