“Several books were scattered around the unit, including C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters,"
Botham Jean's family says warrant is part of a smear campaign against slain man - CNN

I wondered why out of the several books, it was made mention of. So...

I can say that on more than one occasion as I was driving home on the interstate I was so tired that I was having double vision. How is it possible to be so disconnected that you go to the wrong apartment?
I think you just answered this question yourself. Look at your sentence before you asked this question.

That unnamed spokesman or DPD official or who knows... I read 5 minute drive which might gel with 7.6 miles there with traffic.

Other accounts say she had bags, maybe groceries in her hand leaving one to wonder if she stopped anywhere, if there are traffic cams to observe her exhausted driving and maybe surveillance inside any place she stopped to see how she presents.

Initially, msn reported that Guyger was assigned to South Patrol Division which is on Lamar .2 mile from her home. Later they reported that she is assigned to Southeast Patrol Division which is located at 725 N Jim Miller Rd, 7.6 miles from Southside Flats. So who knows.

This one was published quickly and then retracted I do believe.

Anonymous DPD Officer and a 14 hour shift along with "she then put down several things she was holding and continued to fight the key when the resident swung open the door and startled her"

I hope this call or conversation was recorded and they can identify the officer who gave this story

Dallas Officer Kills Man in Apartment She Mistook as Hers: PD

A Dallas police officer, who spoke with NBC 5 under the condition of anonymity, said the female officer was assigned to the department's elite Crime Response Team and had just finished a 14-hour shift serving warrants in high-crime areas. When she arrived home, she took the elevator to a floor that was not hers. She then went to what she thought was her door, put the key in and struggled with the lock. She then put down several things she was holding and continued to fight with the key when the resident swung open the door and startled her. The officer believed Jean, who was wearing only underwear, was an intruder and shot him with her service weapon. It wasn't until police and rescue units began arriving that she realized she was not at her apartment. Once realizing her deadly mistake, she became emotional and fully cooperated with officers, including offering to provide blood samples.

“The document does not indicate to whom the items belonged. It's unknown if a search warrant was also executed at the officer's apartment.

CNN has called Guyger's attorney, but has not heard back, and has reached out to the Dallas County district attorney's office and the Texas Rangers for comment.”
Botham Jean's family says warrant is part of a smear campaign against slain man - CNN

“Guyger was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation into Jean's death. Some have called for her to be fired, but Dallas police officials say they will not discuss her employment until the investigation is complete.

A blood sample was drawn to test the officer's level for drugs or alcohol. The results — if the tests have been completed — have not been made public.

The Rangers are typically tight-lipped about investigations and this one has been no different. Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson has said she wants the case to stay in the county. Once the district attorney's office completes its investigation, a grand jury will decide what charge or charges Guyer will face.”

I do hope they find him. That was very early on. It would be interesting to know how he came about this information, did she tell him directly or is he repeating scuttlebutt.

Not sure if this was posted

“Hours earlier that evening, managers at the apartment complex had received complaints from residents that there was a strong smell of marijuana in the fourth-floor hallways. Managers knocked on Mr. Jean’s door and at least five other doors inquiring about the smell, the Jean family lawyers said. It was unclear who on the floor was responsible for the odor.”

Well, case closed strong mary jane or maybe internet fumes, somebody obviously needed shooting. A bit of sarcasm there....... I do wonder how his family knew of the numerous knocks on his door.

bbm

Maybe apartment management shared that info with the attorneys?

ETA: Or other 4th floor tenants.

ETA: I missed any reference to multiple knocks on HIS door. Only that multiple doors were knocked on.

I would encourage anyone who took screenshots of ANY of Amber's social media before it vanished to send those to both Lee Merritt and the Texas Rangers ASAP. They can be retrieved of course, but it helps if they know what social media they need to retrieve.

“Experts on police training and psychologists, however, are split as to the credibility of Officer Amber Guyger’s story about how she came to kill 26-year-old Botham Jean, and that credibility will be key to whether a grand jury will indict Guyger and whether she could persuade a trial jury that the killing was tragic, but justifiable.“

If Bo‘s apartment was 800 sq ft, I found one that would match the layout of his apartment, it’s just mirrorred (floor plan A3).

I mirrorred the image and it looks like Bo‘s apartment as shown in the CNN video (see location of kitchen counter, balcony and bedroom entrance).

I think after she finally got around to turning the light on, after she shot and killed him, she realized she was in the wrong apt so had to go look at the apt# to see where the heck she was at to send emergency personnel.

Same. My gut tells me that she was partaking in 420 or booze, which could explain why they found bud there along with the bullet proof vest. It’s against my sensibilities to think he was so overly, outwardly religious but also smoking nugs on the side? it’s possible but not likely IMO. Her being high could explain why she was impaired enough to not notice the red rug, to not notice the decor and differences in her hallway vs. bo’s, plus her parking on the wrong floor.. I have no idea how she got inside, unless she was stoned and confused as to why her key wasn’t working and when he opened the door and she disgustingly reacted and shot. I think it’s a possibility that she was stoned and legitimately didn’t realize she was in his apartment and not hers. Also, from experience its not out of the question that that’s why she was jumpy.. IDK how she shot a man in haste but certain strains of THC make me nervous AF and paranoid. I end up saying and doing things that those who know me would never suspect that I’d say or do. I’m a regular consumer of medical marijuana and even I still have to admit that the idea people repeated here that weed only makes people chill and happy go lucky is just not accurate. It’s a drug, some people are happy drunks and some get violent and black out. It seems one sided to pretend marijuana, which is an intoxicant, is any different than other drugs.
