There is only one logical reason she pulled the trigger: self-defense. At trial, we will find out if that reason was warranted. For any other motive to be imputed, she would have had to have known who she was shooting at. And even the Lawyer says they didn't know each other.

There is not only one logical reason. There are numerous:

She was exhausted and misjudged the whole situation. (didn't need to know him)

She was impaired with a substance and misjudged the whole situation. (didn't need to know him)

She did not adhere to her deadly force training. (didn't need to know him)

These scenarios are not only logical but extremely possible.

Two bullet holes means she was using questionable ammo as in I'm thinking service ammo should not pentrate but mushroom to transfer all energy to the target while reducing the likelihood of passing through a target and striking an unintended target...........

He was hit once.

Or pipe. Or lighter. Or ashtray. Can/will they identify fingerprints on baggies and other collected evidence ? I’m still a bit confused about the damaged laptop issue.

At first I didn't think so, but I think it was hers. Most of the list seems to be cop belongings, anyway.

How fascinating. Marijuana baggie/baggies, marijuana smell, but no marijuana joints, roaches, or rolling papers.

Hmm.

I dont know anyone that still rolls joints.

I would ask posters to refrain from calling Amber "the killer." She is only charged with manslaughter. It is as offensive as if I were to call Botham "the doper." (Which I would never do)

Unrelated question: What would you have thought of this case if Botham had shot Amber when she entered his apartment?

Fellow Websleuthers, please forgive me for asking things I know you have all discussed. I've been unbelievably busy and there is no way that I can read through all of the posts on these 2 threads. I have skimmed a few pages and if any of you could post links to posts or outside sources to answer the following questions, I would greatly appreciate it...

1) I read somewhere that the officer (a Ranger I think) that wrote out the affidavit used to obtain the search warrant had not spoken with AG prior to writing the report. Is that true and if so, how could he write a narrative of what happened without speaking to her but state that she said that BSJ opened the door? If he didn't speak to her then did he get this from someone else's report - perhaps first officers on the scene who took initial information? And if so, has there been any release of those reports or just echoed in the Ranger's affidavit?

2) I also read somewhere that the "evidence" at the scene supported the "2nd story" that BSJ was across the room and not at the door. I think that might have been a comment from a Dallas police officer but am not sure. Where did the 2nd story come from? That is was this a statement from a press release or something?

3) I think I saw a reference to a 2nd search warrant. Did I? If so, why a 2nd search? And is there a link to that warrant?

4) I've seen reference to items taken during the search or searches. Has a list of those items been published? Or how do we know what they were?

5) I saw or heard something about a witness stating the shots were seconds after they heard "let me in" - does anyone have a link to that?

6) I think I read that AG was seen by a neighbor pacing in the hall on the phone seconds after the shots were heard. Was that true & if so, when was she supposed to have been administering aid to the victim?

7) Something said AG was allowed to call her "partner" but cautioned not to speak of what had happened. Was this a partner in the police department or a domestic partner? I wonder this because of the "let me in" reported by a witness and want to know if AG lived alone or expected someone to be in her own apartment when she got home.

I appreciate your help as I try to get caught up on the information on this case and hope no one is offended that I didn't just read all the posts and find it myself.

At the moment, I would have to say that I agree with those (including the family's attorney) who think that nothing about what AG says happened makes sense and I just cannot understand why she would shoot this man even if she did think she was entering her own apartment. I carry a gun and have on more than one occasion walked in my front door with my gun in hand because I was suspicious of something - once an entry alarm was going off - once there were lights on that I didn't think I'd left on - things like that. Each time I approached my door with caution, with a round in the chamber, and called out as I entered and turned on lights as I entered each room to check it. In neither case was anyone there, but I assure you if there had been, I would not have simply shot that person because I saw a shadow of them across the room. It could have been someone that I knew - maybe a family member or friend who may have noticed something suspicious and stopped to check on me or something. But even if it was an actual intruder I would not have just shot them if they did not take some threatening action toward me. And if they did not heed my verbal warnings, I would not jump to the conclusion that they were a threat and shoot. My first thought would be that maybe they didn't hear me - I have deaf people in my family so maybe that's one reason I would think that but I also know an awful lot of people who go around with headphones listening to music and don't hear you when you are standing right next to them even if you're shouting. And if the person was across the room from me and wasn't anyone I could recognize and they didn't hear me and for some reason I did find it necessary to fire my weapon, I am fairly certain that unless they were pointing a gun at me, my first shot would be a warning shot to get their attention and let them know I meant business and not a shot to their chest or abdomen. Police officer or not, there is no way that this shooting can be justified. AG should plead guilty to the manslaughter charge and thank her lucky stars that she wasn't charged with murder.

Well this post is much longer than I expected (LOL) but thanks for reading!

I'm curious. How do they use?
Vaporizers of many kinds, dab rigs/nectar collectors, bongs, pipes, yes still use papers and blunt wraps and edibles like ice cream and popcorn and gummies and baked goods....

ETA then there's fruit and the classic standard soda can

At the end of the day this is what we know.. she atleast at the very least she committed manslaughter. You can not get away with walking in to someone's house and shoot them. You just can't.It's an unfortunate situation if that truly is the case for both sides more so the victims. Definition of manslaughter is an unintentional killing that results from recklessness or criminal negligence. She was reckless in this case regardless .. there are multiple signs that she failed to see for whatever reason. The parking garage, the lighted number, the red door mat.. there is no excuses. Saying you were tired and didn't see those signs doesn't make it justifiable. I had a friend in high school who wrecked and our other friend died as a result. He was charged with manslaughter and he was only 16 at the time. unfortunately,it hurt his chances getting into certain schools and he had to pull 4 months. Everyone knew he didn't intentionally kill him but because he failed to reconize the stop sign due. He got manslaughter. He missed one sign that cost the other guy his life. That also was an unfortunate event but he had to do the time. She is no different. She has to get charged. Hopefully there won't be a next time but I bet she thinks next time to pay attention to things tired or not.

As of right now, it would be stupid to think that she deserves the murder charge without any evidence. But if we find out that she is lying and went up to knock on his door to confront him which I don't think happened but we see. She'll have to be charged with murder one because she intended to confront him and take her weapon with her. The only reason why I believe this any at all, is simply the contradicting stories dug her more into a hole. So curious to hear the 911 tapes, see the surveillance of what time she pulled in and how long before her pulling in, does the first 911 call comes out. That's going to be key. Curious to know if any other 911 calls came in

I disagree. Its not "stupid" to think it as murder. Murder has to do with intent. She shot twice. She fully intended for him to die.
