No Spiritecho, there is not sand that would blow up and conceal a body. Weeds or tall grass, yes. The ground has a tendency to be hard packed unless it is plowed. Even plowed, it would not blow up and conceal anyone. If Brandon was "in a field" as he stated, to me that would indicate a plowed field or a field of permanent grass such as haygrazer or buffalo grass. A field in Texas usually gets plowed and planted, but not always. A field to me as a native Texan of this area indicates a rather flat area with something planted and growing or freshly plowed. I would think if he were in a field, he could be found rather easily because of a lack of trees and also if it were plowed, someone would have come across his body by now.

On the other hand, a pasture would indicate an area of mesquite trees, cedar trees, some native grass and some sort of scrub brush. Pastures are usually not plowed , but cattle or other livestock could roam the area and graze the native grasses. Pasture could be pretty thick with brush and could hide a body well. It might be difficult to find Brandon if he was in a pasture where people and equipment do not go very often. He could be well hidden there.

In Texas, fields are fenced off and have a tendency to be rather small areas. Whereas a pasture is fenced off also, but it can consist of hundreds of acres.

Hope this helps you visualize the land. I have some pictures of the area. I will try to get them uploaded.

I do know what a field is like and what pasture is, I was raised on a ranch and then we (hubby and I) had a small field that we kept the horses and show calves on. Here where I live, out in the pasture when our winds and dirt get so bad it piles the dirt up against the mesquite, yuccas, tumbleweeds, chamise, etc where it can seem that a bush is growing out of a 'sand drift'.
Here they find 'remains' of the people trying to come out of Mexico, many times they are not found until the wind blows more, and they are exposed. They had sat down under a mesquite bush, against a yucca, (we don't have trees down in our flats) and then the weeds gather against them and the dirt piles up. So with that in mind, I wondered if that area was similar and could apply to Brandon...guess one never knows

There have been numerous searches by LE and a SAR group. Also air searches. Brandon was not located. Doesn't mean he is not there, just not found.

They only searched a particular area correct? They determined he was on the NORTH side of the highway? Based on the truck, his 911 call about a field and cell phone ping that could or could not be accurate, correct? Did they search to the SOUTH?

So if that is the case, why are they saying on HFBL that the land owners won't let them search. So which is it?

Hwy 277 runs north and south. They would have searched the east or west side of the highway. I believe the SAR team would have searched both sides of the road. IIRC wasn't there a search map? I think it showed a good stretch on both sides of the road but I'm not real sure. I will see if I can find it.

This is a picture heading south out of Bronte toward the river and then passed the river to the rest stop. As you can see this area is pretty flat.

This picture is taken at the rest stop looking back south again. You go up an incline here and the terrain becomes very rough and rugged. If Brandon ran to this area he should be harder to find. But since this is south of where his truck was found, I think he would have headed north toward Bronte just because of the flatter terrain. But I guess you never know.

I will go find the links for the searches now.

Glad to see some renewed interest in Brandon.

This is the time of year people are out and about. It's not too hot nor is it too cold, so it makes you want to get out and do something before our scorching heat comes. Maybe someone will see something soon.

Here is the search map used by TexSar when they searched. This is from The Observer Facebook Page:

here is the link to their website:

In thread 2 they talk about a total of 9 different searches by LE, TexSar and I think that includes the private searches.

This map is what I keep referencing and if I follow correctly, which maybe I am misunderstanding, they have searched A2, A3? I guess what I am calling SOUTH is actually east then? I am referring to what is marked as A4 (between A4 and the ICP letters) on this map and calling it SOUTH, LOL, I am so direction-ally challenged. If I could know the codes of the colors it may help. I'm sorry I'm pretty sure you guys have done this several times and I can't keep it straight I'm thinkin.

Ok, another silly one, they did two? aerial searches? well one with Ladessa within a few days and then SAR did another? Where they hoping that his, supposedly reported, bright yellow t-shirt would be seen easily? And then they could send people on the ground to view whatever may be spotted? And if it is as flat as indicated he should have been spotted quickly? Yet, other people say how rugged the terrain is...

Is anyone of the opinion Brandon would be on the run/hiding, with Kyle's or anyone else's help, for this long with no contact to any family, that we know of? And do this to his children, you can see the love he has for his babies in the pictures.

That is a good question... And in the beginning they said he was not aware of a warrant for his arrest until he went to register the vehicle, but it was later changed to they knew about it and they were saving so they could pay bail. So would be run because of a warrant? Don't know... Don't know how critical that warrant was. I can't see him staying this long from his kids.

I don't think he ran. I still think he ran into someone for some reason, they argued and he was killed and his body has been dumped somewhere else. I personally do not think he is in this immediate area, but I do feel he is not too terribly far away. MOO.

I apologize if family and friends are reading here. No disrespect to anyone.

I don't think he's on the run. A person who wanted to disappear would likely leave quietly and not make a spectical. He could have taken his family out of state. Brandon called 911 begging for help.

Has anyone ever found out who, if there was, friends where that helped Brandon's brother & girlfriend search for Brandon after the police left his abandoned truck?

We have several new people following this. I am wondering what their thoughts are and maybe see something that hasn't been discussed yet?

I wrote quite a while back but didn't get any replies.

If I remember correctly, his 911 call made it sound like he caught some people cow tipping. After a bit, they ended up chasing him. I feel as if they caught up to him and made sure he didn't rat them out.

I think one of the tippers was a cop, which is why he stayed hiding. Later after brother left, they came back and chased him down.

I really don't see people committing murder over cow tipping. Trespassing is probably the highest crime you can be punished for. Then again, people have killed for less.
