I would be very surprised if this were Brandon. Way too far from Bronte or even San Angelo. I looked to see who was missing from that area in the last year and no one came up that I thought might be a match. Hopefully LE will be able to identify the remains soon. Hopefully it will solve someone's long awaited answer. RIP

Is this anywhere close to where Mason Kukiken went missing?

Unfortunately no it is not. San Antonio is so large. More than likely it is a local. Or possibly a transient also. I don't see it being anyone from the Abilene San Angelo area.

Any updates on the identity?

I wish I would have noticed that one. Because someone else said it was incomplete and everyone agreed

Have you ever seen any responses from Ledessa about the 911 call recording she has not being the entire call, that LE may have altered it? She also often says that LE sent HER the recording which isn't the case. It was released to his parents. Has she ever been asked about that or made any statements about it?

The same type of idea about questioning the 911 tape being purposely altered by LE was posed again under the same post by Ledessa . It's still up on FB.
I went to a conference on 911 recordings as they pertain to the legal system. I can say very confidently that the recording of the 911 call she is posting, is NOT his call in the entirety. I think that portions of the call had been removed or bleeped out/over before they released it, and what HIS PARENTS were given was only pieces of the call for voice verification only. LE has many high tech supports that can and do clean up recordings. I don't think that they ever released the recording so that everyone could try and figure out what was said in the call. I think it's much more likely they already know and info was altered or excluded by LE to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Several versions of the 911 call are up on the HFBL page and are still there. Sadly I see we're slowly going back to victim blaming. Where do you get your information that the family wants this to go as a "cold case"? They may have good reason to stay away from social web sites. I for one have been reading many cases on this page and the people here are doing a wonderful job at helping find missing persons. This is the only one I continue to see family bashing.Sad.
Just my opinion

Could someone please post a link to where it was confirmed that the 911 tape was released to his parents and not Laddessa? I can't seem to find that and my understanding was it was sent to Ladessa.

Thanks rascal. LL stating he grabbed them before he left.....to me this means they were still in his truck when it was returned to the family. I would ASSuME that is what transpired, but you know what happens when we assume something!

I agree it can be rugged, but he was a mile from town. You can see the lights of town where he went missing. Also houses along that road. I don't think he got lost. JMO tho.

Might depend on his state of mind though. Still haven't quite made up my mind. I have several theories.
I know what we hear on the 911 call. He was afraid and panicked. Was it real is my biggest question? The deputy was coming towards his location from Bronte, his brother was coming from San Angelo. Neither saw him walking down the road and neither saw anything suspicious going on. We know from his 911 call and his communications with KL that he was definitely on the land and not the road. Something either happened very fast, or he ran to far in, got disoriented and couldn't find his way back out. Maybe an angry land owner found him on his property. Maybe he imagined someone was after him. Maybe someone was really after him. Unfortunately I truly believe he is the only person that can answer the questions everyone so desperately wants answered.

I have heard something on the 911 call, that I have not seen mentioned. I finally just finished reading all the threads to see if anyone else has posted this, and did not see anything, so I apologize if it was posted and I missed it. On the call, when the dispatcher says "Do you need an ambulance?" , and Brandon is saying something over top of her at the exact same time, IMO, I hear him saying, "I got cuts!!" Now, be it cuts from going through barbed wire fencing, the terrain, or possibly stab wounds, who knows. But, IMO, there were enough of them/bad enough for him to mention (if that's what he is indeed saying) and that these cuts are more likely to be the source of his bleeding as opposed to him having had punched something at home earlier in the evening. This is my 1st post, so bear with me while I learn the ropes. I do know I need a MOO for good measure. :moo::worms:

Welcome, mlmrock!

I didn't hear that on the tape, but I do hear something that I can't make out. I'll have to have another (562nd) listen to it.

I believe, trying to remember after all these months. That bl's dad went and spoke to the sheriff at least one time. I would think that the 911 tape would have been played for him to help identify bl's voice.

From my understanding family did not get the 911 call until about 6 months after his disappearance. LE sent it to verify it was Brandon. It is also my understanding that this was the first time anyone heard it. LL stated on HFBL that she was releasing the tape to bring more attention to the story in hopes it would bring media attention. (Paraphrasing).
There are too many family members and friends that know his voice. If it wasn't him, it would already have been brought to attention.
I can't make out what he's saying while the dispatcher is talking.
I have been listening to the tape a lot lately. I keep hearing "a scraper pulled some guys over". If you google scraper, there are some road construction equipment vehicles called scrapers. I wonder if there was any road construction going on in the area. But then again it wouldn't be likely at that time of night. There are also John deer scrapers. Possibly used by ranchers?
Just rambling thoughts

Wow I don't know if it's because you put that in my head but after going back and listening to it numerous times it does sound like he said "I got cut" or " he got cut". And that's shortly after it sounds like he said " I got the first guy". Frustrating not being able to understand everything he's trying to say.

Haven't forgotten you Brandon!!!

Welcome to Websleuth's! What a great first post. I think you might be correct that he was cut. I have not heard that on the tape, but I have not listened to it lately. Hope you settle in and stay awhile. This thread and this case needs some fresh eyes and ears. :welcome4:

Still thinking about Brandon. Just wondering where you are.

Every time I hear that human remains were found somewhere in Texas, I immediately think of Brandon and go see how far it is from where he disappeared.
