She's definitely wearing shorts and dark shoes in the dashcam video, but the car photo looks like a completely different person.

I'm a bit confused by the initial car photo released and apologies if this has already been explained in earlier pages -- is that her car she's allegedly standing in front of? why are the lights on? is it parked in a round driveway, it looks like it's parked weird?

unfortunately, I feel this case is only going to end in one way.

I don’t think Law Enforcement would talk so openly about her mental health struggles and previous suicidal thoughts if they didn’t think with certainty that’s the cause of her disappearance this time.

Remember the college girl, who disappeared, she fell in the river?

to the people saying it looks like a male stance... i see what you mean, but i can't imagine that's a hard rule. and in any case, i feel like people aren't always in their natural stance when they're unlocking a car door. especially if they're focused or just getting something.

as to the height... i think that's a nissan altima. let me know if i'm wrong? internet says altimas are 4'10". going by the picture, that person looks about 6 inches taller than the car, do they not? hard to be sure exactly, but at least in the ballpark, IMO.

Has anyone else heard about this? This was a New York post article. Checking to see if it might be fake news

I wonder why LE has said Camilla is depressed, but her dad wasn’t aware.

Camila’s father said the past several days have been devastating.

“I’m feeling down, devastated,” he said. “The only thing keeping me going is my faith — God, men of faith, and all the support from the community, churches, and family. The prayers are what keep me strong.”

He described his daughter as a “daddy’s girl,” saying it was normal for her to tell him she loved him, even the day before she disappeared.

[…]
Sheriff’s officials have acknowledged Olmos has a reported history of suicidal thoughts, but her father says she had no history of depression or mental health struggles.

No article to read, but the sheriff said they checked flights and border crossings. Nada..zip..
I think she may have family / friends in Mexico.

That is odd..

I'm just throwing out some thoughts here....

Her mother is religious, and AFAIK, there's been no mention of siblings, and only a brief mention of her father, so I'm going to assume it was just her and her mum living at the address she went missing from. It's also been reported she was recently baptised (as per the article below), which to me is a little odd as all baptisms I know (FYI I'm not religious) are done when children are babies or very young. Is it a cultural thing to do it as a young adult, when you're old enough to fully commit to the act and the church? It seems she was surrounded by religion in her home, and was religious herself, but if the baptism timing is a little unusual I wonder if she was at a crossroads in her life and looking to religion to help? Perhaps that ties in with potential mental health issues, or I wonder if there were other things at play, secret things she hadn't shared with anyone?

If the footage of the person walking along the road is her, and I believe it probably is, it does seem like she was off on her usual morning walk. Without her phone, which is odd, but if it had no charge it makes sense to leave it behind. I wonder if she was looking through her car for a powerbank/portable charger to use with her phone, so she could take it along? It could just be total bad luck that she didn't have her phone that day, or intentional if she planned to harm herself. I just don't see that as being true though. Wouldn't it just be easier to take her car and do something to herself in a quiet, secluded area? If she did harm herself, maybe she got something from the car to assist with that? But again, I keep coming back to the fact it doesn't sit right with me that she'd walk, not drive, away to her demise.

Again, I have questions.
Was she usually up so early for her walk?
Did she go straight from bed usually, or shower and freshen up first?
Would she usually walk in PJ pants?
Does she normally walk on the road, and not facing oncoming traffic (for safety)?
Does she usually stick to the streets and built up areas, or head for the parkland?
How long is she usually gone for and does she have a set route? (Someone could have stalked her and known where she'd be)

Our grand daughter shares nothing with her Dad, when our daughter contacts him to discuss an issue - he has no idea what she's talking about. So I can believe what he is saying is true.

Just catching up, I put the new drive cam video on highest quality/slowest speed. Not great, but you do catch a couple glimpses of bare legs and in one brief moment a blurry face.

I think I heard they are expanding the search into Mexico, is that true?

yes. and, assuming that's her, it makes me think more about the hit & run possibility. just one among many though.

i'll add that i think i'm seeing bare legs there, whereas the person seen at the car had pants/sweats on. if she took off sweats and was walking around in shorts, then where are the sweats?
The released video by her car does not show Camila wearing sweatpants. She is wearing light colored shorts.

Did she definitely have family plans Christmas Eve? And was she having any trouble in school? This is reminding me of the woman who disappeared and died in Princeton, NJ last year. : (

Does anyone know what the theories are about her leaving her phone behind?

You can be baptized at any time. It is not that unusual for adults to be baptized, IMO. Some people find religion later in life and decide to be baptized. My 48 year old cousin was baptized 2 months ago. I know several other people who were baptized as adults. Their parents were not religious or they just "never got around to it."

I was not formally baptized until I was in my 30's. My paternal grandma baptized me as a baby when I was really sick. But, I wanted to do it myself as an adult, as MY choice. Her family maybe wanted to wait until it was her choice. Maybe she rebelled against religion as a young teen and only recently found herself in harmony with religion.

To start with, most Mexicans are Christians, but of them, 78% are Catholics. The rest are Protestants - I remember meeting Jehowa’s Witnesses who came from Mexico, for example. Now, Camila’s friends said that “Christmas is such an important holiday for Hispanics”, so I assume she is not JW.

So, there may be two options:

- Confirmation, a very important ceremony in Catholicism, that would be “reaffirming your faith in the age of consent”; usually it is done slightly earlier, but maybe she was not into religion as a teenager and got interested in young adulthood.

- or, indeed, if a person is changing the denomination (switching from Catholics to Protestants, which is not an impossible scenario in US South); while it may be informal, some people may formally go through another baptism (Ukrainian baptists who converted as adults told me that they went through one).

So one of the two, I think. Either way, an adult person confirmed her faith in Christ.

ETA: According to newspapers, Camila has a brother; he flew from another state when she disappeared. It is what earlier articles said. It is not easy to understand the family situation, but the community is very supportive.

NY Post is a tabloid and seems to be sensationalizing a bit of information from the press conference. The PD stated they checked with border patrol just like they checked with airports because they are exploring all possible options, not because they specifically think she ran away to Mexico. I have seen no direct quotes from approved sources or LE directly where they state they "fear she has been taken over the Mexico border" like the NY Post article states.

I highly suggest listening to press conferences on your own and making your own judgements as an alternative to reading tabloids. Much more straightforward, less sensationalism and rumors. JMO.
