I suspect that some of people in that neighborhood/along that walking route who have home security cameras have been out of town for the holidays. Hopefully as people come back home from visiting family/vacations, they start checking their footage from that morning and come across more info.

Not only for Hispanics.
But for Catholics in general.
In my country in Europe also :)
Same as in Quebec. Midnight Mass and eating tortiere afterward. But then more celebration on Christmas Day. Both days include celebrations, they go together.

I think I heard they are expanding the search into Mexico, is that true?
They checked flights and border crossings. I think she has family there. They wanted to make sure she hadn't flown off somewhere or traveled. That's all. They aren't searching in Mexico.

I wonder why LE has said Camilla is depressed, but her dad wasn’t aware.

Camila’s father said the past several days have been devastating.

“I’m feeling down, devastated,” he said. “The only thing keeping me going is my faith — God, men of faith, and all the support from the community, churches, and family. The prayers are what keep me strong.”

He described his daughter as a “daddy’s girl,” saying it was normal for her to tell him she loved him, even the day before she disappeared.

[…]
Sheriff’s officials have acknowledged Olmos has a reported history of suicidal thoughts, but her father says she had no history of depression or mental health struggles.

Her dad's exact words were:

"Well, I mean, I didn't know she was going through stress but they didn't tell me because I was telling myself I'm divorced and I'm not with the mother, you know?"

Seems like mum and dad may not communicate with each other, hence why he was probably not told.

Has the mother been ruled out?

NY Post is a tabloid and seems to be sensationalizing a bit of information from the press conference. The PD stated they checked with border patrol just like they checked with airports because they are exploring all possible options, not because they specifically think she ran away to Mexico. I have seen no direct quotes from approved sources or LE directly where they state they "fear she has been taken over the Mexico border" like the NY Post article states.

I highly suggest listening to press conferences on your own and making your own judgements as an alternative to reading tabloids. Much more straightforward, less sensationalism and rumors. JMO.
At today's press conference, the Sherrif stated that they checked flights to Mexico and they didn't find anything, also they checked border crossings.

You are correct and I know the NY post is a tabloid but sometimes they leak out a little truth, which is why I asked the question just to check. It has been noted that she maybe a victim of human trafficking which would require investigating all leads. If the police checked with border patrol, then it affirms the question I asked. Don't understand why you suggest im a tabloid junkie without knowing anything about me or my background. A simple answer would have sufficed .

There is a huge difference between checking flights etc and going in to Mexico to investigate. One scenario assumes voluntary travel, the scenario assumes that she is being held in Mexico. This type of journalism spreads untruths.

Is there a clever person who knows the height of this particular car and can see how that matches with the person in black clothing against known height of Camilla?
there is. and he's VERY clever.

The Daily Mail (another tabloid) is spreading the human trafficking rumor based on where she lives. (Most international human trafficking goes from Latin America to the US, not the other way!) Law enforcement is not. No one with credibility is saying that she is being trafficked. Just the DM and I guess the NY Post. If someone is trafficked in San Antonio, they usually end up working at a massage parlor, strip joint or in some guys basement right here in the US.

Um I heard the possibility of trafficking on my local news channel . Any investigation like this would consider all options till being ruled out

Post a legitimate and verified source saying this? I see sources saying they have not ruled out trafficking, kidnapping, or anything else at this time. This means that anything is a possibility, which is categorically extremely different than the police saying that she may be a victim of human trafficking. Word choice matters. JMO.

The released video by her car does not show Camila wearing sweatpants. She is wearing light colored shorts.
wait, is this a third video? i'm aware of the video of someone (the police say it's her) at her car, wearing long black pants. then there's a dashcam video of someone walking along the side of the road, possibly in shorts, but hard to tell because of poor quality, processing artifacts, and AI artistic license.

And why would she turn her car on if she was going for a walk.

There’s a piece of the puzzle we might not be privy to. I’m stuck on why her car lights would be turned on if she was just looking for something. Wonder what was her last call/text? Did her boyfriend or friend say they were coming by and she went out to start the car to talk in it? Idk but that’s so weird. If I’m going on a walk, I’m def taking my phone and most likely want my AirPods. I’ll skip a walk if I don’t have either. Was she the kind of person to take a walk every single morning or just sometimes? They aren’t telling us something that is key to this story though.
If her car had auto lights, can they activate when you use the fob to open the door?

i'm sure it's true to say "it's possible" here, just like it's possible in any case. but that's not newsworthy. it's just one thing on the list of possibilities along with runaway, murder, suicide, drowning, old age, and hit by falling coconut.

if some outlet starts reporting that "IT'S POSSIBLE SHE WAS TRAFFICKED" or something like that, the audience is going to think the police have a particular reason to think so, and as far as i know, they don't. that's what's irresponsible about it -- cueing the audience to think a particular thing based on nothing.

Is there any factual evidence that Camila Mendoza Olmos has been kidnapped? Aside from the fact that she is missing? None.

Thank you, you explained this much better than I could!

Then the person standing at the car couldn't have been her.

jmo
This footage was taken after the sighting where she was standing near her car, if the sheriff is correct ?
According to the presser.
So did she just leave from the car (if that's her) and keep walking ?
Imo.
