I'm just throwing out some thoughts here....

Her mother is religious, and AFAIK, there's been no mention of siblings, and only a brief mention of her father, so I'm going to assume it was just her and her mum living at the address she went missing from. It's also been reported she was recently baptised (as per the article below), which to me is a little odd as all baptisms I know (FYI I'm not religious) are done when children are babies or very young. Is it a cultural thing to do it as a young adult, when you're old enough to fully commit to the act and the church? It seems she was surrounded by religion in her home, and was religious herself, but if the baptism timing is a little unusual I wonder if she was at a crossroads in her life and looking to religion to help? Perhaps that ties in with potential mental health issues, or I wonder if there were other things at play, secret things she hadn't shared with anyone?

If the footage of the person walking along the road is her, and I believe it probably is, it does seem like she was off on her usual morning walk. Without her phone, which is odd, but if it had no charge it makes sense to leave it behind. I wonder if she was looking through her car for a powerbank/portable charger to use with her phone, so she could take it along? It could just be total bad luck that she didn't have her phone that day, or intentional if she planned to harm herself. I just don't see that as being true though. Wouldn't it just be easier to take her car and do something to herself in a quiet, secluded area? If she did harm herself, maybe she got something from the car to assist with that? But again, I keep coming back to the fact it doesn't sit right with me that she'd walk, not drive, away to her demise.

Again, I have questions.
Was she usually up so early for her walk?
Did she go straight from bed usually, or shower and freshen up first?
Would she usually walk in PJ pants?
Does she normally walk on the road, and not facing oncoming traffic (for safety)?
Does she usually stick to the streets and built up areas, or head for the parkland?
How long is she usually gone for and does she have a set route? (Someone could have stalked her and known where she'd be)

Baptisms happen at all ages...not just babies or infants. It depends on denomination, etc.

My gut reaction leans towards self harm, although I think she would drive away. My second consideration is an online fake romance, gone horribly wrong.
I was thinking the same thing about an online fake romance. Happens more than people think.

Is it me? The person is in the dashcam video appears to be running or jogging, not walking.

Perhaps inconsequential, or perhaps not.

It’s does make more sense to me why she’d be out at all and at that early hour if she went for a run. Going for a neighborhood walk that early seems more unusual to me for a teenager than if she were out for a purposeful exercise run.

Temps are cooler in the morning. Many runners also leave their phones behind to ditch the extra weight and nuisance of holding it. She’s a teen and likely doesn’t have all the fancy gadgets and tracking gear that serious runners use. Probably just wanted to get a mile or two in, especially to feel good going into the holidays. She was supposed to go dress shopping that day.

Would also explain to me why she’s in the bike lane rather than the sidewalk—asphalt is more forgiving on joints and has a safer/more even surface. More well lit in the early morning light with streetlights and away from the shadows of the trees.

For me, it points to her having a purposeful reason to be out that morning and did not intend to go missing. At the worst case scenario she also could have been running from something that spooked her.

I know the video is blurry and dark but it looks like her arms are swinging in a running motion and her stride is outstretched and lifted compared to someone just walking.
I agree. It does look like the person is jogging or running.

Bexar County Sheriff's office does have this new footage of her walking away from her residence.
They have enhanced the lighting to see her walking.

Quoting this to save it, thanks for linking !

That’s my thought. Her mom was home but asleep. If she was leaving, lock the door for security purposes and take the keys to get back in, in case mom is still asleep when she gets home and she doesn’t want to wake her up.
Many many front doors and garages no longer rely on keys, my garage had one in 2003

In 2025 coded locks are much more common, have not used a house key over 20 years

Regarding her recent baptism...this doesn't strike me as odd, especially as she recently graduated high school - at some churches, and for some young people these days, it's common to get baptised again as you are going out into the world to recommit yourself to the faith. My church has an event every summer and some people get baptised again every year. I assume this greatly depends on the faith, church, community, etc but a recent baptism doesn't strike me as out of the ordinary for a young woman active in her faith. JMO!

Hoping LE has more footage than they have put out so far.
Based on the little we heard about her recent activities and mental state, I could see either getting your first baptism or recommitting as a way of preparing to take one’s own life. Kind of like baptizing a sick child or infant in case they pass. I know that doesn’t make much sense since suicide is a sin but that’s just a thought. I wish we had a bit more of an understanding of her mental health status at the time. I feel like everyone they have spoken to has had competing opinions. JMO

I don't see the police releasing that information if it was given to them second hand. I assumed that information came from the search of her devices.
Kind of new to this case. Has LE shared any more information on what, if anything, they found on her devices? I was under the impression that her mother was the source of them considering self harm.

In yesterday's presser the sheriff was asked this and shared that the fbi was helping his office gather info from both her phone and ipad (both left at home). He confirmed they did gather some information but said he couldn't share more details.

This news station (WOAI San Antonio) shared their on air news with the helicopter in the air showing the areas of concern and those areas that are being searched. I did not realize that the area has a lot of business areas with sheds, tractors, barns , places one could go to hide., even saw the big sewer tubes they put in the ground lined up . Reminds me of Summer Wells case where they asked neighbors to check their properties ... Wonder if they are doing that here. They should as I did not realize what massive area this is. ..

I am just now reading about this case.

I am wondering if maybe she had a secret romance with someone she met online and planned to meet up with them?

Also, was it typical of her to walk every morning at that hour? Had she been seen on Ring footage previous days heading out for her walk?

If she left her keys in her car all the time then I was wondering if the video had caught her getting her keys previously before walking.

Thanks for the info! Hopefully she just left her devices as they were and didn’t wipe them. When I heard her phone needed to be charged I was worried she had factory reset it.

All good questions. I also wonder how long she and the (ex) boyfriend had been broken up? Initially I figured she broke up with him ahead of taking her own life, but could also make sense if there was an online romance going on.

my thoughts on the baptism stuff...

assuming she is catholic (?), it is typically done when you're an infant, but can be done any time. as someone else said, sometimes people don't get around to it because they or their parents weren't practicing at the time, or whatever, but then decide to later. ... that she chose to do it recently, as an adult, is slightly interesting. maybe something significant about that with relevance to the case, maybe not.

the thought that occurs to me is college is when you're finding yourself, figuring out who you are, etc., and maybe a person of faith is who she decided she is. there's also some rebeling or distinguishing from your parents at this age, and maybe this was a way for her to differ from her mom (who had apparently not gotten her baptized as a baby?). could that be related to whatever happened to her? don't know.

The reason I ask about the secret online romance is because I work with teens. We had a very quiet and shy girl who met an older man online from another state. Great student, sweet and kind.

He actually drove all the way to get her and she left with him. Turns out she had legit been human trafficked. The man had been pimping her out to other men for money. She was rescued a few months later. I never would have believed something like this would have happened in my area to someone.
This was a very vulnerable girl living in foster care so I believe she was an easy target for predators.

But sometimes it’s the quiet ones who also can get into trouble like this. Im always suspicious of what young people are doing on their phones.

Wondering if CM might have headed towards a church or cemetery? speculation, imo.

I think that her friends mentioned it in the same context as Christmas being an important holiday for Hispanics and Camila thinking of others first. It was less about baptism and more that it would be uncharacteristic for her, a newly confirmed Christian, thinking first of others, to harm herself. Sadly, depression is depression, although religion indeed is a protective factor. Still hoping for a better outcome.

Here is his interview.

They said, “recently ended a relationship” but interestingly, “Nathan has not been named the subject of that relationship”.

I read on one of Facebooks dedicated to searches that he started attending a college in another city, hence the breakup was “amicable”. Indeed, planned breakups are very common among school sweethearts who move to different cities after school.

If it is so, 1) it would be interesting if there indeed has been a very new relationship as Camila was free.

2) Nathan is still attached to her. Posted many photos on his FB. Could someone have been very jealous of her? He seems a nice guy. The situation around jealousy to a pretty, quiet girl who likely attracts nice guys and has good friends might be quite serious.

is the relative suggesting she was seeing a second guy around the same time? if so, i'd say take a closer look at both guys.

If she is Catholic, she might have felt "left out" having to state that she had never been baptized.
I was not Catholic, but I put myself through a baptism ceremony when I was twelve. I just felt it was a must do, and never got a good explanation of why I was not baptized as an infant....
