“Salazar said the body was found in a field "very close to Camila's home." It was located during a search by sheriff's deputies and FBI agents in a field they decided to scour again due to high brush in the area.”

So sad she was missed in the field the first time. Bodies found in a previously searched location happen way too often.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it reported that the dogs weren't able to track her? That is strange if she walked or ran from her house to the field, seems they would have been able to get her scent. JMO
Dogs are definitely not perfect.

Devastating news. My condolences to her family. For me, this points out that yes, self harm can happen first thing of a morning.

stuff like this is why i don't give much weight to what dogs do or don't smell. they can be a powerful tool, but they're not reliable. lot of false positives and false negatives. too many things can throw them off.

This is true. Our dog loved tracking our kids, but a lot of wind, confused him..

She was such a pretty girl, working towards a great career. I just can't imagine what her parents are feeling, especially her mother. <modsnip: insensitive> I hope her family has more knowledge as to why she did this. JMO

Thanks for the link. ^^^
Per the link, a firearm was found near the body , & no foul play suspected.
Heartbreaking if this is Camila.
Omo.
So she retrieved a gun ou of her car then? Imo

Do ya think that’s the reason why she slept with her mom one last time? Maybe?!

Evidently LE knew one of her family members was missing a firearm. This is how they suspected she would do harm to herself, I would guess. And there are many, many landscapers in that area. But that Burning Brush (is it Brush or Bush?) is a two mile walk via Wildhorse Parkway, where she was last spotted. She must have had the gun concealed in her hoodie.

A firearm was also found near the body. While foul play is not suspected at this time, Salazar says it is still too early to determine whether the body is Camilla....He added that authorities had been searching for a missing firearm belonging to a member of her family.

The family has to be devastated. RIP Camila.

Eh, it seems so often on this forum that a body is located very near where they were last seen despite dogs and human searchers. Doesn't seem strange, it seems to be the rule more than the exception JMO

You can get to it from her house. There's a culvert at the end of the cul de sac. The culvert empties into a field that backs up to the Burning Bush. There probably was a hole or something in the property's fence or no fence at all. It's a compost/mulch place.

Wow, I’m very shocked. But I guess she would have been found sooner if they had found her during the first search there. I just don’t understand the concept of making yourself hard to find and putting your family through that madness on top of what they’ll already experience once you’re found. This has me thrown for a loop… I did not expect that but I did feel like something big was being left out.

That's what I was wondering. Was there one in the house? Was she getting one out of the car? Maybe stored in there so parents wouldn't find it? But where did she get it if it wasn't her parents?

Probably because she didn't want any of her family to find her.

I wondered if she was sleeping with her mother because her mother knew how depressed she was, which gave her mother some sense of hope having her close. Such a sad outcome.

They say that the body was discovered by the landscaping company.
