Skeletal remains found wrapped, hidden under mattress in apartment, police say
[...]

The apartments are for purchase, not rent, and the new owner of the apartment was doing some cleaning when that person found a body inside the unit on Club Creek Drive and Country Creek Street.

Police initially said a maintenance worker had found the body, but later said the new owner was the one who made the discovery and called 911.

[...]

Police said when they began investigating Rios’ disappearance, they thought foul play was involved, so they checked out the apartment on March 2.

When they arrived for the initial investigation, a man answered the door and released a dog on them, so they shot and killed the animal, police said.

Police found Rios’ vehicle at the scene but did not find a body, so they left. Valencia was taken into custody, questioned and later released.

Rios’ friends said they saw flies inside the apartment and always believed Rios was still inside.

[...]

Police said the apartment was filled with rotten food so it already smelled, and as the new owner began cleaning. That’s when the discovery of the body was made. Officers said the body had likely been there for weeks.

Valencia is now a person of interest in the case again, police said.

Such a handsome man, and a father taken from his family. I can’t believe that it seems that his roommate killed him? Over what??? So tragic. At least the perp was stupid enough not to hide the remains after the police visit.. I’m hoping for some swift justice after they get more info.

Jesus Cardenas Valencia was the owner of the condo (and poor dog) on March 2.

A new owner buys the condo and finds a body on April 19th.

So Valencia manages to sell and close on a condo in a little over a month? These are condos for sale- not apartments for rent?

And the buyer bought it sight unseen?

Skeletal remains found wrapped, hidden under mattress in apartment, police say

“Neighbors said they knew something was up because there was a smell coming from the unit and there were flies everywhere.”

“Though police said Rios lived in the unit, a woman who identified herself as Rios' girlfriend said he did not live there, but because she lived in the complex, Rios spent a lot of time there.”

WTH? Neighbors knew something was up? Flies? And no one called the police?
