Morgan was last seen at Gas Express on Highway 59 in Marshall, Texas on August 8, 1997. He was driving his cream-colored 1990 Isuzu pickup truck with the Texas license plate number 665-5VP at the time of his disappearance. He disappeared after he left the Waffle House where he worked at 4:30 a.m., and has never been heard from again.

Morgan's vehicle was discovered abandoned in a wooded area of Marion County north of Marshall, Texas some time after he was last seen. The truck was locked, there were bullets scattered on the floor, and his 30-30 Winchester rifle was missing from the vehicle. There was no sign of Morgan at the scene. The land where the truck was parked had previously belonged to his family, but by the time of his disappearance they had sold it.

The day before his disappearance, Morgan told his father and a coworker that he'd been threatened by some loggers. It's unclear whether these loggers were ever identified and if they had anything to do with his case. His case remains unsolved.

<<Casey was born on October 12, 1957 in Dallas, Texas. He was last seen on August 8, 1997. He was going to take a drive, probably to his river property. He loved being in the woods and at the river. Casey was the victim of an unsolved crime and has been declared legally dead. His case has been featured recently on two podcasts, Vanished and Within the Twisted Reach. A Facebook page has also been established under the name of Missing Casey Morgan.

With great effort, Casey was able to overcome a severe problem with dyslexia and graduated from high school in Dallas, Texas. The whole family was so proud of him when he joined the Navy. Due to medical problems, he received a medical discharge much to his disappointment. He then worked for the Transportation Department, which involved working on Interstate 20 near Marshall, Texas. In 1979, he and three co-workers were hit by a drunk driver. He was one of two survivors. His legs were crushed and splintered requiring numerous surgeries and hospitalization for several years. Against the advice of his doctors, he refused to apply for disability. He was determined to work again, which he accomplished. Following a lengthy recovery, he became a long-haul truck driver. He then lived in Marshall, Texas, caring for his grandmother and working at The Waffle House. Adversity never broke his spirit or his sense of humor. He loved to pick at his guitar from time to time and wrote humorous songs about his experiences. Casey was a loyal friend and family member. He was a big man with a big heart, generous with his time and compassion. Casey will always be loved and remembered for his incredible perseverance, intelligence, and his great sense of humor.>>

In The Charley, the people say they threatened him with lumberjacks... What connection could that have with his death? He was already a truck driver... or maybe the argument started before that... but for a person like him who got up after falling... after being run over... perhaps a woman? A betrayal of the lumberjacks? Maybe he owed money? Something to do with drugs? I don't see what else it could be...
