Fist of all a 4yr old could climb out a crib if they wanted, 2nd I’m thinking they were converterted cribs that are like toddler day beds. Just had to get up and walk that’s it.

It's a toddler bed. No bars. It's in the video.

I’m listening to the video with my Beats headphones.

I can hear someone SNORING. Like they’re in the same room.
Anyone else with headphones hearing this?

daily mail is a UK news agency....is the video not out there in U.S agencies too? why sell it to the uk?
The DM is a British news site, but this is the US edition.

its a large room with just their small bed and a few toys. when the house interior was posted pages back, did we get to see the floor plan? i'd be interested to see where he stomped to when he took cash.....could hear him walk straight through the building....was it out the door (was door left open because he had no free hands to open it) or did he move into another room

I don't think that that clip is clear enough to tell which tall, thin boy with wild hair that is.

My theory, and it’s jmo:

That house is a regular gong show. There’s always people coming and going. It’s one of those places where friends can come over whenever they want, you make yourself at home, stay over if you’d like. And it’s always a party. Maybe mom lets them drink or smoke in their rooms. And mom has people over too. Maybe some of these characters were shady and stole, which is why there are cameras “everywhere”.

That night, the teens were hanging out at the house. DB was over. He’s an acquaintance, no? Sometimes you hang out with your siblings friends. He noticed a child in the house. It’s not “like totally random” for a pedophile to have bad thoughts when they’re around children. People came and went. Maybe someone locked the door, but someone unlocked it at some point. It’s possible DB came back to steal something, like a TV, something noticeable. Then he thought “hey this is easy!”, was high on adrenaline and then went back for Cash.

The blood and pocket knife are irrelevant. Red herrings. There could be drops of blood on tissues from a nosebleed, a paper cut, even popping a zit.

But then, I dunno.

That morning someone was AWAKE and somehow knew someone was in the house.

I’m sorry but if I knew someone was in my house and I had kids, I’d check on them INSTANTLY. That’s the first thing you’d do. A teenager isn’t going to call 911 and say “someone was in my house a few hours ago”. It had to have been MS1.

If you’re on the phone with 911 reporting a burglary, I assume they’re going to ask you if everyone is safe in the house, right?

How can you NOT NOTICE.

That’s INSANE.

Jmo
ITA on gong show, flop house

I have a question for moms and grandmas: I think DM is correct that toward the end of the video, brother Carter is looking for Cash by kicking the blankets. Then Carter leaves the room - and DM declares he goes looking for Cash, which isn't something they could know. Is it not more likely that Carter made his way to the bathroom to pee? The next stop for a 4 y/o should be a stop in the kitchen where a caregiver gives them something to drink or a piece of fruit? But no, the sun is up and shining in the windows, twin brother Cash is missing, and this little boy goes back to his bed, alone. Once a 4 y/o is awake, he is "up"? <modsnip>

He definitely goes to pee first. There is that sense of urgency plus repetitive way of walking. Then he comes back and is looking for Cash.

great I won't sleep tonight! That is one scary video.I did not expect something like that to be released as I imagine it will be used in evidence.
The way he stalls for what seems like an eternity, I didn't think he was talking to someone. It seems like he knows the enormity of what he is about to do and wondering when and how is the best way without creating a scene. He surely took his sweet time but he does look behind him a lot like he's afraid of someone walking in.
Also going back for the second child, I did not expect that! What a risky thing he just got away with and he decides to try it again? One life wasn't enough? He must have enjoyed it the first time around so much he went back for seconds. I really am appalled at this case, I've seen nothing like this for a long time

does this strike anyone else as odd

he yanks cash from his bed, waking him for sure....a first instinct would be to cry outs why did the perp risk that?

to lift a sleeping child from bed to keep them quiet and sleepy you do it gently and soothe them back to sleep in your arms.

It’s around 30 seconds in...someone snores a couple of times and then it stops when the camera blinks/ re-focuses and he turns and looks at camera.

Ok, I looked at Google Earth and believe this sleeping area to be on the back corner of the home.
See the window AC unit in the wall above the bed.
So I’m guessing a rear door is close by.

I’m thinking this might be what was considered the 2nd livingroom which they have made a 4th bedroom lots of people in Texas do that. It’s also quite possible there is a door in that room somewhere perhaps a sliding door.

If you follow comments posted in the link Ive put above youll go down a whoooooole rabbit hole that will lead you to where you need to be! I sure wish I could say more. I get in trouble everytime I open my mouth here though. Theres a few surprises along the way.
I got part way down that hole.
Good Lord.. but glad to hear some parts of it for the remaining twin, well... sort of.
I am just catching up in here so this is probably already been discussed and passed on by.

RIP little guy. What a handsome little angel you are <3

Not necessarily it depends on their routine. My daughter is 5 she wakes up uses the restroom and then if she sees everyone is asleep will go back to bed. Or she will get her tablet and crawl into bed with me which I do wake up but she’s content beside me. She actually never wants food till about 1-2hrs after she wakes up. There been occasions I’ll wake her up to take her out for breakfast and we get there and she refuses to eat says she’s not hungry.

Maybe- but you also lift a sleeping child in the way they are accustomed to being lifted- slow, quick, from under arms, cradled- it all depends. Maybe he’d picked this sleeping child up before? Or watched others in this way? Def seemed comfortable with the timing & the lift. Jmo
