We just received the Amber Alert at 9:45pm no name mentioned. just says... AMBER ALERT, Dallas,Tx Check your local media. That was it. So sad yet another child is missing. When the parents were done with questioning, they addressed reporters outside of DPD headquarters.

"We just want everybody to know that we love our son, and we just want him back safe and sound," mother Dishundra Thomas said.

"Whoever has him, just return him back to us."

Cedric is Thomas' only son. The aunt is the sister of Cedric's father, Cedric Jackson Sr.

Thomas told WFAA that Cedric was placed in his aunt's custody by CPS but not against her will.

"We were ok with that," Thomas said. "There were issues that I had to deal with to become a better mother."

Thomas and her husband said that they see the boy frequently and that the last time they saw him was on Saturday.

In this video the reporter said family members said Cedrick slept next to the aunt in the same bed. If that's true - it's not been confirmed by the aunt - it seems like the aunt would have woken.

Hopefully I am doing this right. Link to the story about the tension is below. They updated the story since I read the article earlier and took out a part where it mentioned problems amongst the family - leaving only that there was an argument between two of them - the Aunt who has custody and the man in jail. They also changed it to call the man in custody (on unrelated charges) "a close family friend who is the father of the Aunt's boyfriend" rather than a step-grandfather. Weird - why would he be involved in any kind of custody case? That is probably why they are looking for another possible suspect instead.

Also think this is weird - I didn't get the Amber Alert till much later when they made it state-wide versus regional even though I'm literally within 2.5 miles. Then it just said, "Amber Alert. Check your local media," with no info at all about the child.

Thanks for this...just watched...IMO, very telling. Baby was sleeping in same bed as Aunt when he disappeared. Wonder where the other child who saw someone enter, was sleeping?
I’m in Texas too and got the AA around 9:45pm with literally no information...Strange...so let’s see...
-Baby disappears while sleeping in same bed as aunt...
- CPS previously involved...
- Step grandfather / aunts boyfriends dad in jailed on “unrelated charges”
- Front door unlocked upon waking (per aunt)
Doesn’t sound like a stranger abduction but something is most definitely off, IMO.

So confusing! I need a family tree.

While the baby look so serious in these photos, I can say that my cousin has an extremely happy boy the same age, but she always posts pictures that make him look so sad and serious. Some babies just don’t smile on command and some parents just take quick pics without working to get smiles out of them for the pics. I don’t read much into expressions of babies in these types of photos.

Praying that this sweet little one is found safe!

I'm confused on this issue too! Looks like the criteria is different by state and that in Texas:

"•The local law enforcement agency must confirm that an investigation has taken place
that verifies the abduction and has eliminated alternative explanations for the missing
child.
•Sufficient information is available to disseminate to the public that could assist in
locating the child, the suspect, or the vehicle used in the abduction."

That's pretty sad news. I don't think his immediate parents had anything to do with this, but I don't think it was a stranger. Seems likely to me that when they were hanging out at the aunt's over the weekend, there was the altercation, and I think the "close family friend" did this as some sort of spiteful act towards the aunt who was supposed to have custody of CJ. The MSM links have made it seem like he argued with the aunt, and not the bio mom/dad, that's what's leading me that way. JMO
