'''To those asking about where to donate, please keep in mind that there are unscrupulous people out there already posting to ask for donations! Do NOT fall victim to these people!!! We Texans take a whole lot of pride in helping each other out in the event of natural disasters! We have so many volunteers on the ground searching and helping people right now! We have HEB and Whataburger handing out free food and drinks, as well as a multitude of individuals giving their time to help those in need. Our Governor Abbott has already began the process of a natural disaster declaration, and the Red Cross has been helping out all over Texas. Please contact the Red Cross, HEB or Whataburger and ask them what you can do in the way of a donation. Also, Texas EquiSearch is always in need of donations. They are the absolute best worldwide when it comes to search and rescue, so please consider them if you would like to donate to help the state of Texas.''''

Greatness!

Love it!!!

If you set the flood alert layer here, the whole area is green, so I removed it to give some sense of how things seem to be moving, but you can play around with the layers yourself.

Listening to the news...the body of a 6-yr old little boy found (Wednesday) has been identified as Andrew McComb. :(

The weather service has said that 35+ trillion gallons of rain have fallen over the state of TX this month of May—which is enough to cover the entire state in 8” of water.

I wonder if they can set up an Amazon wish list...and people can send things direct to whoever.

They did this during the Ferguson protests...and I thought it was a great way to get stuff quickly. Use Prime shipping, and 2 days it's there.

Not sure if there is anyone on the ground that could find out if this would be helpful...but I would absolutely be more than happy to send needed supplies. Even if it is just for the volunteers.

ETA - yes I did read that HEB and Whataburger are helping. I expect nothing less from those 2 great companies!!!

But surely there is something that is needed by others. Yes, the Red Cross is great too. I don't know. Just feel helpless here...missing Texas, even in crisis!!!

Well, it's been pouring here for about 4 straight hours so I guess as it moves off , we will see lots of new flooding. I'm curious about the grapevine lake dam and lake lewisville this morning.

The Vineyards campground at Lake Grapevine tells us they will be closed until mid July due to flooding. What a shame. It's our favorite camping spot.
