A few years ago I watched a Vice documentary on the water crisis throughout several states. Texas was one of these states. In fact, Lake Travis was a focus in the documentary for how little water was left in it (due to no state or city oversight on how much water people/corporations can take out of it), and how people from all over the state came and prayed there for days, weeks, months at a time for rain.

I suppose those praying are praying for restoration and the lives lost over the weekend.

Fox4news just said on live feed the controlled release of the water has worked and a dam ' break ' is no longer imminent . :) I guess that does not rule it out but when I woke up they said it " will break' in 1 to 2 hours so definitely improvement.

Hmm, Emergency Broacast just signled on my TV , and then ran a ticker that said Natl Weather service issuses a flash flood warning for Ellis, Tx.? Is the dam going to hold or not? That's curious to me because it is dry all over right now.

County officials are talking about evacuation and to get out so emergency services do not have to come out. Animal evacuations are planned as well. This is a very rural area with lots of livestock. County is prepping areas to house livestock until water recedes. This is really scary stuff. :(

<3 Take care, and I'm glad they're taking precautions, regardless of what the engineers are saying. Just too much at risk. Hopefully, all will be okay with the dam and life will return to normal come June.

(June...please come quickly.)
