''Flooding may have just made the commute from Denton to Dallas much longer.
The Denton County Transportation Authority decided to suspend its A-train service because of recent flooding caused by record rain.
The DCTA said a bus bridge will service all A-train rail stations from downtown Denton to the Trinity Mills station in Carrollton.
The DCTA said the bus bridge will be operating on Monday, June 1.''

June 1 is tomorrow so not sure why this JUST came out . One of the dates must be wrong.

So neat :)

I was thinking I post too many things here and feel like I'm over posting . Then I thought if someone sees this in 5 yrs, they'll get a real, detailed taste of how it went all in one spot. So keep posting all you find. This is like a historical documenting of sorts.

No No No lol. I follow your posts! Don't slow down now!

''The Trinity River continues to rise after heavy rains, causing road closures and evacuations amid flood concerns.

An "uncontrolled spill" is occurring at three area lakes that pour into the Trinity, causing more water to rush into the river, even after the rains have ended.'''
( Those lakes are Ray Roberts, Lewisville and Grapevine)

I don't know if I shared this yesterday. Grapevine Lake is my old stomping ground as a teen. We grew up in a tiny town, so tiny that Grapevine was the ' big town ' near us where you would go for groceries and banking and such. I spent a lot of time tanning at this lake. It flooded in 81 or 82 and went over the spillway and at that time, back in the wild, wild , lawless west, they did not keep people off of it. A hundred people were down there every day standing ON the spillway with nets and some with laundry baskets, catching fish !!!!!! Imagine that!

The weather service has said that 35+ trillion gallons of rain have fallen over the state of TX this month of May—which is enough to cover the entire state in 8” of water.

Just an amazing amount of water. Hope they find everyone that may be still missing.

I think events like this kind of show how the whole world could have been flooded as some stories in certain holy books indicated may have happened many years ago.

If it rained like this everywhere in the world and kept on raining for X number of days, I could see how it could happen.

Thanks for all the posts. It is amazing to see the flooding.

Hope the weather dries out soon.

This is a tough read :(

Zack Shields on FOX 7
A weather disaster hits home. As some of you know, my family was impacted by the Wimberley flood. My wife’s sister Laura, our nephew Andrew and niece Leighton were taken from us by a 40 foot wall of water. This has been the worst week of our lives losing 3 people we loved so dearly. We will miss Laura’s compassionate and loving spirit. She was the life of the party and you always wanted to be around her because she gave out so much positive energy. She would do anything for you and she did everything for her children. They were her life and it brings us some comfort that she is with Andrew and Leighton in heaven. Andrew always went 100 mph with awesome energy. His laugh was so contagious. Leighton was the shy one but when she gave you a smile and a big hug it just melted your heart. Heaven has a new princess. Telling my boys what happened was the toughest thing my wife and I have ever done. They are still shocked and asking questions but my oldest has some comfort knowing the kids are with Aunt Laura and God. My family has a big void in our hearts right now but the outpouring of love and support is the only thing getting us through this devastating loss. Watching the news you see a lot of evil and violence going on the world but after seeing what is happening in Wimberley I know for a fact that there is so much good than evil in the world. The search operation going on right now has been unbelievable. There are over a thousand strangers coming in helping our family. This has been so uplifting to see everybody doing what they can to help bring home everyone. My family wants to send out a big thank you for all the love and support and we do appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. We will need more as time goes by as we mourn the loss of Laura, Andrew and Leighton. Please remember the other family members that have lost a loved one and keep praying for them also. We still have 3 missing so if you want to help with the search or send a donation to help the effort please check out www.wimberleytxrescue.com. Again, thank you for all the love and support and keep us in your prayers.

Love them cowboys! "‘Old West’ cattle drive leads 200 animals to safety in Texas after floodwaters trap herd" -

(ETA: oops, catching up on back pages, just realized the cattle drive was already posted...)

And, some mind-boggling facts:

http://thebull.cbslocal.com/2015/05/29/5-stunning-facts-about-this-years-texas-flood-quickread/

Don't miss #2 - the rain Texas received in May was enough to fill California's 200 largest surface reservoirs to capacity 3 times!

(Sure wish some smart person would figure a way to send excess water state to state.)

The cattle swimming around in the high water is so scary. Cannot believe they were able to save so many.

Thank you for posting this ..... I have worried so much that Laura might not be found. Not quite sure why I became attached to her .... perhaps it was because she was lost along with her two small children. Any word on little Leighton McComb? I don't think she has been found yet?

Body and souls will be united again. RIP
