BBM - I'm confused about how long they'd been together, so many tweets but I thought he said that got together in 2014 after she split up with LP

I think they lived together with Logan while Christina and Logan were together.

I don't understand why he would need to get the number, did he not realise that it would be in his call log from when EA's phone called his?

He may not have registered the number had any connection to CM. The only thing that's been released about the text messages from EA's phone to HF was "could I get some of that good rock?" If the other messages were just more of the same, he may not have connected the # as being EA's.
I'm guessing he regularly got phone calls from unfamiliar or unsaved #'s due to his "career" choice and partying habits.
