Thx! EA's lies are the ONLY thing IMO that even makes this case close. If EA is found guilty, it's his own fault because he should have known to shut-the-hell-up from the beginning. The pings, dna and video testimony don't impress me very much. But, the lies upon lies....

I'm just curious as to why the scientific data doesn't impress you very much?

Okay people, breathe...we are dividing into camps of guilty and not guilty. That is great as each is entitled to their own opinion. We don't individually nor collectively get to decide, this jury does. Let us all hope for the right answer whatever that might be.
May all hope to find peace.

I think the divide we are seeing here is probably what the jury is going through too.

I have always believed him to be guilty but when it was released they said there was enough DNA found in the trunk that she could not be alive. The way it sounded in the courtroom was that there was a very small amount. It's not that I don't believe it. The quantity took me by surprise

My issue is that the Blue Star reaction could have been cleaner. Which we know was used.

Also, if the trunk DNA wasn't blood, then it could mean something was put in the trunk that had her saliva or something all over it.

With the evidence given I can't say that he kidnapped her. It seems just as likely that it WAS something like a drug deal gone bad or they saw something they shouldn't have. Something happened, Christina got hurt, he didn't know what to do and was threatened with his life if he said anything.

Now I don't think that happened. But I really just wish there was more evidence. All of the evidence to me tells me absolutely nothing definitively. The DNA is the only damning thing they have and there were issues with that.

My opinion only. I still think he is guilty and I hope he gets life. They did great pulling everything together in closing but I just really was disappointed with the lack of legitimate evidence.

Agree mostly. To be clear I feel certain in my own head that he is guilty there is too much quacking from to0 many angles for there not to be a duck. BUT what i think doesn't matter. It only matters what the jury thinks and I've seen cases before where when the jury was interview they say they thought the person was probably guilt but couldn't convict him. I just heard the trial was going on yesterday and rushed to read up on it and I was besides myself when I read about the cops having different theories. Either theory works but its just the optic of them having different theories plants the seed in the jury's mind that the cops really don't know what happened (I'm afraid he is going to walk because of this). The prosecution can't create evidence they don't have so you can't blame them for that, but getting everyone on the same page is something they can control and they should have. Same thing for whether HF would testify or not? They couldn't have got that straight before the trail started (don't know how much of this the jury saw but again the optics are bad).

We are approximately 16 hours into deliberations and still no word yet on jury's decision. Judge will let them deliberate until 9:30 again

The main thing is we are all here for Christina. Everyone has their opinions (see Momoffourboys for my thoughts on opinions) and this is exactly why we are some 16 hours into deliberations. So far it's a healthy back and forth and NOTHING like the contention early on in the case.

Thanks to all who have posted tweets and attended the trial and shared their thoughts.

I'd love to know more about lesser charges.....if I am understanding correctly, the charge of kidnapping was not an option for the jury...only aggravated kidnapping. Does the prosecution decide whether or not to include? Also, hypothetically, if one is acquitted of AK can one be later tried for kidnapping or is that double jeopardy?

Also, does anyone know the possible sentences for the charges EA will face for the underage girlfriend....can't remember the specific charge.

Praying for CM's family and friends.

I don't think anyone is arguing, or that I can see. If one doesn't agree or whatever, scroll and roll. There are going to be those who have opinion of guilt and not guilty and that is ok. Should be ok to talk about and why you feel that way. That what the jury is doing 16 hrs in. JMHO

On the news tonight, they showed a video related to another murder in the area recently (Vandagriff). http://www.dallasnews.com/news/crim...g-her-to-drop-stalking-charges-police-say.ece

There's a ton of evidence already amassed on this guy's guilt, and the body of the girl was found.

But the video was eerie, because it showed the (alleged) perp and the (soon-to-be) victim out drinking at a bar together, the night of the murder. Nothing amiss, lots of smiles and chit-chat, and then they left together and next thing you know, she's been found dead and cut into pieces and burned.

Reminded me so much of what happened to CM. Yes EA showed no signs earlier in the evening, which the defense wanted to make into some sort of indicator. But as Vandagriff case reminds us, things can change quickly and that earlier demeanor where the perp looks safe and friendly can turn out to be completely deceptive.

This is my take on the scientific data.
Original Video: It's two people casually walking into a garage, the only thing noteworthy is that EA says he didn't walk in with Christina and Christina isn't seen again. This makes EA an automatic suspect, but nothing more.
EA's car leaving video: It's a car leaving right when it should have been, it's noteworthy that it left the same garage as CM when EA said that he parked in another garage. But, didn't confirm either way whether there was damage or whether Christina was in the car.
Pings: EA's phone is pinging Coit/Spring Creek at the same time that he was leaving the garage on video. There are at least a few towers closer to the Garage than Coit/Spring Creek so if anything it illustrates that ping data has 'some' geographic reasoning, but to try to use it to get an exact location or general area would be a stretch.

The Granite Park pings don't necessarily tell me that they were together and the detective said that EA could have been at home for that ping. The Anna ping? I don't recall that ping being important to the prosecution or defense. The ping also could have been an outlier ping that doesn't say anything about the actual location of a phone.

DNA: It sounded like it was the smallest of small DNA samples and not blood. It could have come in many, many, many ways. It was less of an sample of evidence than I have imagined for almost two years, so disappointing in that way. I think the 'IN THE TRUNK' mantra was wayyyy overstated, it seems like a severe leap to take a DNA molecule and say that it places Christina in the trunk. It's so small that it could have simply been on a tool or flashlight from when CM's car had been processed.

These are just my thoughts. I wanted to be shown facts and certainty which I didn't get in the trial, so I'm disappointed. I'm actually a little ambivalent to the verdict because I think he's guilty, but that his guilt wasn't proven so he should probably walk.

I get what you are saying here, but IMO you cannot even compare the two cases. This girls purse was found IN HIS TRASH! And there's so much more against this guy then what has been presented against EA.

Be patient. It will take a little bit to get everyone gathered up and into the courtroom. I will keep you posted #arochitrial
